The Difference between Traditional and Modern Anyo of Arnis

Time to spend weeks watching this in slow motion, trying to pick up what I can. Wow.

Traditional every time, though Modern is very flash- sort as you would expect to see in a 'Modern' film!

Both are cool but I prefer traditional Anyo. 👍

I do prefer traditional anyo. It retains the functionality of movements and ease of transition

Not an Anyo (or Kata) person myself but watching I much prefer the traditional to the modern. Modern is too much fluffy, excess for show and entertainment. Lacks effective, realistic actions in my personal opinion. Not that my personal view matters to anyone other than, well myself. Honestly, the modern version is way too much like a circus/gymnastics baton twirling show.

I didn't get the difference. Is it speed? That's all?

Traditional always looks better and is more sophisticated. Modern is stupid and looks cringey fake crap no one would use in a fight. Also I heard original arnis did not have forms and those were added later in the 80's and 90's.
