love your channel bro. just got my boron in the mail yesterday, along with my whatever superba. I'm doing Cemmos's vitamin regiment as of right now. I am aware that the superba stuff is mostly for rock hard boners and i wanna experiment with that. But i figure if i combine your knowledge with Cemmos's as well as Henreviews's, i am assured a beastly beard. You brave men are heading the charge into the unknown. I feel as though the act of using minox for beard growth will become mainstream in the future, but never forget that you were one of the pioneers. i certainly wont.
+CertifiedHustler68 thanks brother i really appreciate that. Yeah man they both have awesome channels. Cemmos has a real well grounded knowledge in beards. His website beardprofile.com has some really great articles too! Appreciate the support man its nice to know we can help make a difference for people who are in the same position to us and i agree i think it will become more mainstream as tome goes on though i doubt that minox companies will pay the required money to test and get it fda approved as there is little financial benefit so may still be a little underground. Hope the supplements go well buddy beard on and good luck
@@overdrive404 went bald like at 18 yo. No Beard. Lots of overgrowing nose hair. Not enough torso hair or bodily hair in general for my liking Short end of the stick much. Luckily, i dont give a fuck for top of the head hair since i look like A MITHERFOOKING BOAR and anything but a short mohawk makes me look waay tooooo funky
@@sanctun-3782have you ever thought about buying andractim and applying directly on on your beard? or androgel ? sci-hub.se/doi.org/10.1080/09546630701567378 I'm thinking about trying
Thanks! I do realise now that I am on a transitional stage. Not all are transitional, though. Many are still vellus. So it's a mixture of both right now. I'm currently at week 8 on using Minox liquid btw. Just keep on going no matter how long it'll take I guess.
i am 3 months into my journey but my cheek hair on the bottom are really thick and grow long and the cheek hairs on the top are thin and doesnt really grow long but i had them before i started with Minoxidil so are my cheek hairs at the top vellus hairs? cuz i have them since 2 years so im not really sure
Thanks for your informations! :-) I am using Minox for about a week now and already see a crazy increase in vellus hair (probably existing ones getting longer). Seems like hairs on other parts of my body are also increasing. Also ordered a Dermaroller. I hope this works for me. I have lots of body hair, only my face is lacking.
Quick question man, so how you mentioned earlier in the video about bald men generally having bigger thicker beards, will using minoxidil to increase facial hair growth cause the hair on our scalp to fall out because of DHT linking hair loss on the scalp? I'm 21 years of age and I ain't trying go bald early lol.
+Nomo 4u no minoxidil cannot make you go bald early. Its genetic and linked to normal levels of dht. It cant make you go bald... its designed to grow hair on the head in the first place.
Thanks for the video mate always a pleasure to see some informative videos like this. I've got a question about the foam, even if I shake the bottle It comes out liquid which make it difficult to apply. Do you have any tip for that ?
+fukdat shitmat hey man thanks for watching. Yeah what i tend to do is run the can under the cold tap for about 10 seconds and then run my fingers under cold water for a few seconds. Dab off the excess water from your fingers this should mean it doesn't dissolve to quickly
How can I manage my skincare and minoxidil in a day shall i apply my skincare serums 7hours after minoxidil and u said well in this vedio after getting terminal hairs shall I reduse usage to 2times a week
What do you call the hairs aren’t terminal but still grow to a certain length, are fine, light and not pigmented and have not fallen out after a year of having stopped minox, I’ve only used 1 1/2 bottles of minox.
bro I have been using minoxidil for 4 weeks today! I have been seeing awesome results on my beard!! but there is one problem... the hair that I have on my head is falling out!!! I had never experienced this before!! did this ever happen to you? is it normal? I saw a couple videos that said it was normal but I don't know!
+victor ramirez i have a video on this in my beard necessities playlist. Its like episode 10 or something. Long story short. Yes its normal and no minox cannot make you go bald. Ots just normal sheddingthats been sped up by minox
1. does the shedding phase only affect parts of your face that have fully developed vellus hairs, or does it just shed all parts like on your cheeks and neck? 2. does the shedding phase take affect once all of the vellus hairs on your face have fully developed? 3. does the shedding phase take affect only for fully developed hairs, which hairs that arent developed yet will fall out when its ready?
The questions were hard to understand so I will give you an overview if the video was unclear. Shedding can occur to vellus and terminal hairs. Terminal hairs on the beard will always be replaced with terminal hair. Vellus hair can be replaced with terminal hair or another vellus hair. Each follicle is independent and so hairs will shed at different times. In some instances this can synchronise but more often than not its a slow gradual process.
oh my god, thank so you so much for this video. I'm 22 so my beard is about halfway through atm and I was concerned about some hairs i have that had the density/size of terminal hairs but the colour/clearness of vellus hairs. I thought I was getting premature greying in my terminal hairs but now I can rest knowing they're just "transitional" hairs. researching them a bit has told me that plucking them helps promote bloodflow to the folicle and achieves a full terminal hair faster. what do you think of this? should I pluck at all? thanks a lot
If left untouched for 2 months, most of my facial hair grows upto 2-2.5 cm long. But then, they are soft and not as pigmented. So are they Vellus hair or Terminal hair?🤔
Nice video bro, this answered pretty much all of my questions but i just have 1 last one, lets say im still on minoxidil and I have a lot of villus or transitional hair. If i shave it will it regrow even tho its not terminal?
i dont get, I saw an old drivers license of my father when he was 24 with the most awesome stache/handlebars out there yet I am turning 21 in a couple days and only got a weak goaty.... sort of. hope time is on my side
Hello man, good videos. I've used minoxidil and gained a lot of hairs. I stopped with that 7 months ago and some of them have falled but like 85% is still on my face. Does that means that those are terminal hairs because some are thicker (on my chin for example) and some not. I'm dark blonde so they are not dark but they are thicker than my body hair (much thicker), and I still develop my beard without minoxidil, but I'm planning to start again. What do you suggest foam or liquid ?
GOOD MORNING ADAM, THERE IS RECENT TALK THAT TAKING OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS ( EPA / eicosapentaenoic acid and DHA / docosahexaenoic acid ) may impede a persons beard growth , is it possible because of the EPA component or DHA component ; possibly both perhaps ? What are your thoughts on this complex issue .
+Prometheus One no idea. I tend to steer away from talks about vitamins and the like as i see the extra consumption unnecessary with exception to b12 and d3. We get what we need through a balanced diet extra consumption is not required. So unless there is evidence to say it is good or bad i tend to try and avoid speculation
Hey Mr Solution lol.. quick question. You made mention that most men with beards go bald because of their beard growth (to put it in quick simple terms)... soo if by using minoxidil to promote beard growth.. could it counter our scalp growth? Or that sensitivity you spoke of would only be by genetics?
The genetics gor the most part influence your sensitivity to DHT. Munoxidil is designed for scalp use it can't cause you to go bald. People often mistake this since you can experience temporary shedding. The vellus hairs minoxidil will grow are not androgenic anyway. Its more the increase of circulation to that particular area that doesn't normally receive that amount of blood / androgens and the face that minoxidil can cause new blood vessel development that will aid in the maturation process. If you dont have the genes to go bald you won't essentially as far as the current scientific understanding of male patter baldness goes. In the simplest terms. No it wont make you bald
thank you for your video it was very educational I am not a beard grower though I do have a 5:00 shadow thing going on which it looks pretty cool but that's a sights the point I didn't get this weird hair growing out of my eyebrow that grows super long and super fast I had no idea what the hell it was it wasn't as soft as my eyebrow hair which sent me on a journey of just figuring out what the hell this is and all my research including your video leads me the conclusion that this is a terminal here I have no idea why I'm growing one out of my eyebrow I have to pluck it every so often but no video is talking about terminal hairs in the eyebrows so this must just be a weird oddity that I experience thank you nature for making me once again the odd one again thank you for your video I'm going to go now and try to figure out what to do about this lol
Nice vid man, just subscribed. I saw a post saying that using minoxidil decreases collagen and therefore gives the user premature wrinkled skin. Do you know if this is true?
+Eric Cochrane well those studies were on animal skin fibroblasts and human skills in test tubes. And whilst it does indeed inidicate that minox causes collagen inhibition its also not proven in a live human subject. So really who knows. Thats why we say to dermaroller. In terms of wrinkles and visible skin again that people report i would take it with a pinch of salt. Those users are typically older anyway. Not only that you would probably have to use it for a significantly long time to cause that
So there is the possible velus hair won't turn terminal. Does that mean I should just shave the velus hair until the Terminal hairs come? Right now i'm growing the velus hair and it looks like pubescent facial hair lol
2 question using minoxidil for beard: Does using minoxidil would make you bald, applying it only in the beard section? Does minoxidil works as anabolic too?(I lift heavy weights/calisthenics since 4 years then switch calisthenics for boxing since 8 months ago , and i`ve noticed a lot of gains this past 4 months using minoxidil, dont know if this because of it, but I feel and look stronger, Im faster as well and now I have almost fully beard(my pic profile is when I was a lot skinnier and have no beard). I always practice at max and end up exhausted.
i have dark vellus hairs on my upperlip, it started growing when i was 11 due to puberty at 9 years old. so when should i shave it off so that the terminal hairs grow in? i’ve had the darker vellus hairs for 4 months now.
The Beard Solution thanks only been useing for 3 weeks ide say.I have a beard that looks good but I want all the other stubborn hairs to grow I want it thicker.
ok, I been applying minoxdil for 2 months now, and my skin dosn't itch like every video iv seen says... iv seen small gains in my beard...?? my 1st week iv exspirience dandruff in my beard after the 1st month it stoped... I also don't get faster heart reaits... I'm using 5% -Wal-Mart brand.. Will I start seeing more beard gains after my 3rd month...??Or will it not work..??
No. Of course not. Shaving cuts a hair to the skins surface. Thats it. Its not some magical process you are essentially cutting a dead bit of keratin (your hair is intrinsically dead) to a random length. Thats it.
brother i have minixiodal 5 per in liquid form may i use on my cheek for beard i dont have foam from minixiodal liquid from doest have side recation it have tell me brother
Hey. My facial hair comes out white/blonde when it first grows in. Over the years it has went Ginger the same as my hair colour. I'm about to start taking minoxidil, when it turns ginger all over will that be a sign that they are no longer transitional hairs and to come off minoxidil ?
+stuart mcdonald not necessarily. Pigmentation is only one element. It needs to also be thick and coarse...basically the same as your preexisting facial hair
On one video you claimed that it will take at least 6 months to develop vellus into terminal hairs. Is that really so? I have seen people who have developed terminals after 3 months for example.
Ive yet to see any conclusive evidence of people with full terminal gains after 3 months... even if it has pigmentation. Either way I also caveat in most videos I talk about this that there are extremes and exceptional cases. Most people its gonna take a year plus. I have seen very few achieve the six month mark. Nearly everyone I see use for less than 3 months has lost significant gains. They may have got to odd few terminal hairs but not yet seen a full terminal beard personally. Aside from that teaching mens fashion but not sure if he continued to use it at all after.
Great video man! I’m still a little confused on something. Using minoxidil will make Vellus hairs become terminal, correct? And once terminal they do not fall off?
+ianskar the vellus hairs have to shed and be replaced with terminal hairs they themselves dont become terminal but yeah minox can support this process. Once terminal its permanent
The Beard Solution cool thanks man. One more question, would shaving affect the process? Or does the Vellus hairs have to grow out a certain length before shedding and having a chance to grow terminal?
iam 19 years old and iam not able grow my beard as my father did not have.so can i use minoxidil to get the beard at my age and is there will be any side effects.
I have a question. I have just turned 17, and have a lot of neck hair and sideburn hair, but little cheek hair. I have trimmed it so it is stubble like. Will the vellus hairs on my cheeks continue to grow even though I have trimmed the others? Thanks
If were talking about beards. No. As long as the hair is terminal what I and others have found is that the gains stay. I quit like 5 years ago and I still have all my gains
@@thebeardsolution yes beards. But i meant if they're still vellus. I used minoxidil for a couple of months then stopped for a couple of months. Now I've been using it consistently for about 8 weeks, but I ran out last week. I'll get some more asap. I haven't seen any gains. If there has been gains that i can't see, like deep down, will i lose it? Hope that makes sense. And thanks for replying.
@insanebrain213 not right away but the hair cycle will reset eventually so the sooner you can get back on the better but a short break probably wont be an issue
Hey bro, iam 18 years old can i use minoxidil to grow beard at this age.And what are the best minocidil brand.and at what age u have started your minoxidil journey .
hey i am 20 and i have very sparse beard, i had moustache and soul patch since 15 yrs of age and nothing else, everything else was clean but at 18 i started growing small dark hairs like the hair on the forearms all over my face, some of them have become long like 2 inches on my neck and look like curly pubic hair, and i have a faint goatee, and everything is very patchy, please help me will it grow better with age??
Facial hair will generally improve over time. To what degree is dependent on your genetics. If you don't want to wait and see then you could consider minoxidil though you are still quite young.it already sounds like you are starting to develop more facial hair so its up to you
Can one really develop tolerance to minoxidil over time? I've read some discussions on different forums that people develop tolerance at around one year mark on average and minoxidil no longer works. They were using it on their heads though.
Tim Banch the plateau effect in studies were shown after 5 years. personally I don't bother with the hair loss forum its full of people self diagnosing
Thanks for your reply, Adam. I've been on minoxidil for 7 months and I noticed most gains during month 2-3. After that everything seems to have slowed down and I'm not sure if i'm even gaining anymore. If i look closely I see small vellus everywhere but they've stayed that way for the past few months. Maybe I just have to wait for them to shed.
Bro I have trimmed my about 1.5 inch beard to stubble length but still those small hairs are shedding even though they are not at their terminal length 3.5 month on the journey now
Hairs can shed at any point shaving or trimming them makes no difference. Note there is a difference between a terminal hair and a hair that has reached its terminal length. One is a type of hair the other is the maximal length a given hair can grow
One question. (BTW im a man) I originally had moustache and goatee. Nothing in the sides. Ive been using minox for a long while and they have grown loads of hair on the sides. The turned from vellum to transitional but the dont become Terminal as my moustache or goatee. I want to stop now with minox. Will the transitional hairs fall? Ive been a long while aplying once per day minox and although they have turned transitional, never turned terminal. Thank you!
+maria perez hair can be different colours. As explained in the video just because a hair has pigment doesnt make it terminal. Terminal hairs can aslo be loads of different colours
The Beard Solution I mean that there are loads of people than can grow naturally a very hard hair in the middle and a lightly and more separately hair in their cheeks, and still be terminal. Hopefully that will be my situation
+maria perez you asked me if transitionals stay. If you are now saying they are terminal that is a different question. Hopefully you keep what gains you have
As per the video (i think it's been a long time since I watched it). Vellus don't turn into terminal hairs. You have to be patient and wait for the vellus to grow, shed and be replaced with a terminal hair. This could take more than one hair cycle for that particular follicle. Took me about 2 years some people its quicker some longer
@@thebeardsolution bro one more question pls❤, bro before my vellus hair shed on its own, i trimmed it.. Then it grew to terminal hair... So bro my point is, if we wait for vellus to shed on its own, It will take time but if u trim it after growing for a long time, it grows into terminal?
@playstore7174 no trimming has no effect. You are just cutting a hair to a random length. Either the hair shed after you trimmed it or its not terminal. Some hairs can look somewhere in between (we call them transitional). You won't necessarily notice when hairs shed as each hair does it independently
hey does minoxidil stop natural hair grow? say if i use it at 21 and my beard isn't fully mature till 30s, will using minox at 21 stop the natural hair from growing?
Lol , my pre existing mustache is like extremely thick hard and black hairs , I don’t know if my vellus could ever get to that stage and I probably wouldn’t want a whole face full of that thick like a bathroom brush hair ?
It wont speed up the process. A shed wont automatically produce a terminal hair. It can take a few cycles but it takes time and plucking will only cause damage to the follicle. Shaving wont do anything other than cut the hair length to the skin surface. Unfortunately its a waiting game bro
As explained in the video they technically dont turn terminal they are shed and replaced. I had about 4/5 beard shedding periods up until finishing minox over a 2 year period so basically about 2 years for me personally. Your mileage may vary
If you are 18 you are an adult in my view and can do whatever you want as long as you have researched it. But imho no I dont think people should really consider minoxidil as anything other than a penultimate resort (last resort being fue/fut transplant). I think Mid to late 20s is a "sensible" time to consider it. Thats just my own personal opinion. I know plenty of guys who got great results in their teens, its really up to the person
@@thebeardsolution Thank you so much for responding so fast! :) I hope that my beard will improve over the next few years. Im 17 and have no terminal hair yet only vellus and transition hair. :(
Hi... question! will using Minoxdil speedup my hair loss? I'm 28 and using it on my beard. Will this cause my dht to increase or make my hair more sensitive to the increase of beard and thus faster sooner hairloss?
+koifnen no. It will not speed up balding. Its designed for male pattern baldness it wont make it worse. It may cause temporary shedding but thats a normal side effect
+Khalil Tanerhort it could help but it depends on the excercises things like long distance running can in some cases lower testosterone. But it could help over time in theory with the vellus eventually shedding and being replaced with terminal hairs
khalil Tanerhort facial hair has nothing to do with testosterone, but rather it’s metabolite dihydrotestosterone. How sensitive you are to this and how much 5-alpha-reductase you have to convert testosterone to DHT is entirely dependent on genetics. I’ve seen people inject bodybuilder levels of testosterone and still not be able to grow a beard.
+maanyoutalkalot the follicle is deep under the skin. Trimming or even shaving wont make a difference to the follicle if thats what you mean. All trimming with do it make application easier and absorption minimally
+Nabil Rahman vellus dont turn into terminal hairs whether it be natural or with minoxidil. They are biologically distinct hairs. Vellus have to shed and be replaced with terminal hairs. Now naturally speaking this also happens but over a much longer period and you probably dont even realise its happened you just spot a new hair. Vellus hairs dont usually grow past 1 or 2 mm so you will shed these translucent miniscule hair without even realising leading to a terminal to replace it Hope that answers your question
+Nabil Rahman do not forget though that if you are a minox user you are forcing vellus to grow much longer than they usually would. If you stop before they are terminal they will likely fall out
Is it safe to use rogaine foam into beard while owning a cat. I apply it in bathroom with gloves, the cat cant access the bathroom. Pls answer @Adam Siddals
I have vellus hair since like 4/5 years (I'm 17) and I'm really wondering when it will shed...I shave like every 2 weeks because it grows extremely slowly, and btw it's poor in density
Vellus hairs shed regualrly but sometimes only replaced with another vellus hair. Shaving wont make any difference. They may be replaced with terminal naturally as you get older... or like me you can use Minoxidil to improve your coverage / density and in time terminap hair count
