so if I order a new set of wheels you either work with offset or backspace but not both right. if a rim manufacture asks you for back space then you give them a backspace number. If they ask you for offset you give them the desired offset. I guess im asking will a wheel manufacture ask you for both backspacing or offset because its kind of the same thing.
My stock wheels are ET39. I'm looking at different alloys which match the rim size and PCD, but have an offset of ET45. Would this be ok and safe to fit?
So, sorry I'm old what's the point. I have 12 inch rims with 7 inches of back spacing that leaves 5 inches to outside. Isn't all the same or my dumbass missing the point? I'm glad your getting better!

Some of us "truck guys" have a simpler way to check wheel offset. We use $100 bills layed long ways across the lip. To some, your lip must be at least one bill across the lip or you're not legit.
