The Differences Between A CRC and A CRA In Clinical Research 

This was very useful for me. I ve been preparing some job interviews as a CRA, and this is the clearest explanation about the differences between a CRC and a CRA. Actually I don't have any experience of the CRC, so I ve gotten lots of questions like "Why didn't you work as a CRC first?". I'm still looking for a CRA position, but I just started to consider working as a CRC for 1 or 2 yrs now. Anyway It was so nice. Thx.

As a CRC, I've never seen an opening where you didn't need a bachelors. While it may not be required across the board, it would be really tough to find something without one.

A PI must holds an MD or doctoral-level degree (PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, DDS or equivalent degree). It's incorrect to imply only physicians can be PI's! My 1st PI was a DVM and my 2nd a DNP. As a 3-yr CRC working for Emory U and holding a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology, I love being a CRC... Thanks

I am working as a Research Coordinator Associate currently and only responsibilities I have is answering phone calls and data entry, surveys and scheduling. also worked as CR support Coordinator as an intern where I did TMF assessment, that's about it. I have a Masters in Clinical Research. Now how do I grow? all other jobs require exp of protocol handling, monitoring exp, and others which I do not have. Please advise. Thank You.

Hello Dan, thank you for the video. Other than CRC are there other roles that require a bachelors/masters, are entry level and provide patient interaction? I am recently graduated and would like to work with patients to gain experience and apply for PA school. So far I am applying to any CRC position that has patient contact but not sure if I should broaden to other related fields as well.

Don’t know anything about this topic, but seems to me the CRC is getting shafted at 36k. If it’s entry level than why is their role so pivotal to the study? So much so you called it the backbone, literally it’s what supports the whole body. Yikes!

Hi I have a bachelors of science , project management certificate and a pharmacy technician certificate I recently obtained. I’m trying to break into the field but have no experience and so far all the job specs I’ve seen need some form of clinical experience and I’ve even considered looking at working as a phlebotomists. What advice can you give me and if you could make a video on how to break into this Role without experience- maybe talking possible volunteering options or how can can even get some experience. thank you

What are the requirements for CRC and CRA hire? Is there some exam certificate? Can I be hired as a CRC just like that? Like what are they looking for in a CV/Resume? Are there part-time jobs for CRC? I am an International Medical Graduate (US citizen) aspiring to get into Neurology Residency, so I want to publish research papers in adjunct to a Physician. I have no prior research experience so would being CRC help me in any way . Do CRC get credited in research papers? Are they the same as Research Assistants? Thanks ..it was pretty much clear n focused. I am holding M.pharmacy (biopharmaceutics) degree and currently appearing for online based clinical research course , so as per your explanation I think I could search for CRA entry level position. As such my previous experience is diverse like pharma marketing n pharma asst.professor but as I shifted to other country after marriage it was difficult for me to find out pharmacy job there. Can you suggest me whether it would be better for me to start from entry level of CRA. I am polishing my knowledge through your video's.
