same, i'm from brasil and they only came here once, i think, and i didn't know 'em back then, and when i became like a really huge fan i found out they were calling it quits... very shitty feeling
Love that Greg actually sang the melodic part of the song! When I saw them in concert during this tour he didn't do any of the melodic parts of songs and it made me sad inside.
PropensityToward I think he doesn’t sing as accurately (on key) live, so he just defaults to the scream. It’s really tough to hit notes when you’re jumping up and down and out of breath
@@animacepatrik No one did, he just kind of raged around during those parts or held the mic out. The power went out to their equipment like 4 times during their set and he was getting pissed about it, understandably, so that probably had something to do with it lol.
Wow Greg actually sounds pretty good in this recording! Not to knock on the guy because I know he's running around fucking shit up instead of standing in the studio, but usually his vocals are pretty out there in terms of tuning when they play live. Gonna miss these guys!
Good screaming techniques means you can make those sounds without straining your vocal cords. So the actual note does come from your vocal cords, but the overtones (distortion) comes from air that's being pushed by your diaphragm. As long as there's no strain or pushing from the throat then you're good to go.
When I saw them live it was literally the best gig that I've ever been to. Sadly their live videos are always terribly mixed, though still awesome performance-wise.
Billy is precise and powerful altogether, a guided-missile-of-a-drummer... BUT... this tune is rolling around Gil's original beats. Few can deny, that guy provided some GROOVY-ASS beats for the band, never mind his tasty.... tasty fills! I respect Billy and all, but he is who he is... to my ears he is just a step behind Gil. (and I don't even go to that "first-drummer-territory"... oh my, let's leave that other beast or a rhythm-keeper out of the comments for now...)
+Tom Collins First person to ever share my opinions on DEP drummers. I loved Gil and you said all the reasons why. Billy strips out all of Gil's groove.
I think he'd be good as a replacement for shadows in sevenfold. Obviously DEP is millions times better than that band, but I'm just saying, when he's done with DEP and A7x is still around, he could fit in, and he'd be even better than shadows.
Shank It Uh, there's a thousand reasons why that wouldn't happen. 1. M Shadows is just a better vocalist overall, and a better vocalist for his band. Greg is good, but fits DEP, not A7X. 2. DEP and A7X beefed a while back, and have not publicly made up. I seriously doubt Greg and Shadows would get along for that to happen.
I don't think that a vocalist in a band that is one of the most important metal bands of the past decade is going to go to Avenged Sevenfold, one of the more boring metal bands of the 2000s. When you can listen to this, Deftones or Tool why bother with A7X?
User52 How the hell did you just say M Shadows is a better vocalist? Greg is always screaming, M Shadows is always singing, you can't really compare the two. Yeah, Greg has some songs with DEP and some of his other projects where he songs, but nothing similar to A7X. That's like saying Adele is a better singer than Corpsegrinder. Apples to oranges. Greg definitely fits DEP more. There isn't much room to be as crazy if he were in A7X.
+Jose Luis A S fuck it, the other guitarist is paid to make sure the riffs get played, Ben's job is strictly composition, flips, 360s, and wah pedal solos
