Our new single "Real Contender" is out now 🏆 Special shoutout to Raj Jeshang for illustrating and animating this beautiful visualizer. Amazing how this bubble gum baseball card was brought to life! Less than a month until our new album 'Sticking With It' is out on 3/4. Listen + pre-order: thedip.fanlink.to/stickingwithit This track is about being an unlikely candidate for someone’s affection. Perhaps a longtime friend. Someone who was there all along but never had the guts to reveal their heart and put their name in the hat. Then they realize that life is too short to keep those kinds of feeling bottled up, and they go for it. Here's a note from Levi about how the song came together: "'Real Contender' started out as an idea I had for a guitar riff that never made it into the final version of the song. After having the idea bounce around my head for a while, I fleshed out some more chords and made a quick demo of the verse, chorus and bridge progression and sent it over to Tom. Couple days later he came back with an amazingly intimate voice memo of a verse and chorus - just him plucking and singing the melody and words. The lyrics he wrote perfectly matched the feeling and vibe of the chord progression - melancholy but determined. We started shedding it as a band, working on the feel, horn parts and after finishing the bridge lyrics and final verse, we arrived at what you hear today. The original riff, the kernel that brought out the song, was nowhere to be found and the song is better for it."

Man this little animated ballcard caught my eye 2 years ago, which opened my world up to the world of The Dip. Just this week I was on the front row at the Bentonville show singing every word to every song! So glad to have stumbled on this song, ❤ y’all!!
