Welcome to The Fortress, for your dose of all things nerdy.
The trailer for the biopic of worlds most infamous bands Motley Crüe, aptly titled The Dirt. The Netflix Original movie focuses on the band's success and battles with inner demons throughout the 80's and beyond. Needless to say, we can't wait for this movie.

Am I the only one that feels that Bohemian Rhapsody was a let down..? Like they could have done so much more, dig deeper, but they just didn't. I really hope The Dirt is better. The trailer looks really good, and so far I think it will be better.

You aren’t the only one, it was a solid movie but this one looks so much more interesting. I feel BR is being overhyped. That being said it was good but agreed they could’ve done more. I’ve not read The Dirt book, only The Heroin Diaries from Nikki but it looks so wild

I'm concerned that with the success of Bohemian Rhapsody that we are going to get a whole new wave of musical biopics that we don't need. I loved the Heroin Diaries and Sixx A.M, but some biopics should be kept to the words of the people involved, and not "Hollywood-ified" if that makes sense.
@FandomZone
@FandomZone 5 лет назад
I don’t think that will be the case with this. Hollywood was literally their lifestyle, they were over the top have some great stories to tell. I don’t mind biopics for musicians that deserve it. I’m more excited for this one than Elton Johns one. But it could be like superhero movies, starts off small and becomes the next big thing
@tobiasmccallum6151

@@FandomZone oh I didn't mean this one sorry. I just mean an influx of biopics that Hollywood would ruin with their Hollywood ways. Metallica needs one badly...some kind of monster doesn't count. But have it involve mustaine and cliffs accident (no need to show that) but more so how it affected James and the rest of the band in a personal way etc.
@FandomZone
@FandomZone 5 лет назад
They need one focusing on the early days with the firing of Dave and death of Cliff for sure. Would be great since papa James and Lars were asshats for so many years. I feel like they could even just do a general rock/metal through different years since so many bands crossed paths and had many events happen with each other. Netflix would be the better place for rock biopics. They can have fewer restrictions on the impactful nature of the stories. Could you imagine Alice Coopers or Ozzys movies in the early days? Or Zepplin. It would be amazing

@@FandomZone oh man, a massive 80s/90s rock crossover movie would be insane. Imagine a Metallica, Gunners movie with them hating each other lol

@Tha Real Mccoy No. Biopic's have been around for years. The first I can remember seeing is "Elvis", starring Kurt Russell as Elvis and directed by John Carpenter. From there, there have been many biopics of bands, not to mention celebrity's, or public figures. NWA was a great film, one of the best I've seen and I hate rap music. But so far The Doors starring Val Kilmer is the best biopic I've seen yet. And that came out in 1991.

@@FandomZone yes it does bro and The dirt looks like it did a great job of putting you into the 80's again... I watched the trailer and was like... oh yes this is what it was about... I was a teen in the 60,s and seen Crue at the Girls tour it was actually this show right here.. .ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lWbMu0DUzXU.html that was the show that Nikki mentioned in the Heroin Diaries at Buckeye Lake/Legend Valley.

Do you two even know what your talking about? There’s inaccuracies in the film that millions of us has waited YEARS for!! It’s clear you haven’t read the book or actually followed the band for as many years as I have!! Fan from the beginning!! As for Mick, and this shows you have no clue, he had fusion surgery done!!! That is the reason he can’t move his head!!!

I'm a huge fan of the Crue. And the trailer does show not only what the book tells, but also from interviews. As for "Inaccuracies", where? Are you sure you know what you are talking about Gary? Mick, has ankylosing spondylitis, (look it up) since he was 17. Then later in life his lower spine seize up and freezed completely solid. Which is why he always leans forward and down. (See any photo of Mick). Gary Newcomb, are you sure you know Motley Crue? Maybe you have them confused with another band..?
@FandomZone
@FandomZone 5 лет назад
He hasn’t had fusion surgery Gary, sorry to tell you oh great and powerful all knowing Crüe fan. He did however have hip surgery to deal with the issue and also the arthritis that he suffers. May not know everything about the band, but simple facts are quite easy to know. And thank you Psycho Circus for the support as well as you Tobi. Was going to let this ignorant Trollip be on his merry way. Gary did you know the fusion surgery turned Mick into Spider-Man supervillain Doc Ock?

The previews looked awesome. Then I watched it and it absolutely sucked balls. I saw them every tour since they opened up for Ozzy, up until they broke up. I was your typical "#1 biggest Crue fan" and was very disappointed with this. The acting, directing was lacking something. But, Crue had their hands/say in it and what does my opinion matter? However, that Bullwinkle scene was the best!! I wonder if David Ducovney was inspired by the book? Because in episode 7 or 9 of Californication, there was a girl that did the same. Lol
@FandomZone
@FandomZone 5 лет назад
That’s a shame you didn’t like it. We personally did enjoy it a lot, and though it was damn funny just from a movie perspective. Didn’t care so much about the accuracy or history due to biopics always taking creative liberties. And of course your opinion matters, it’s your opinion even if the band had their hand in it. You can say what you like we don’t care. Have not watched californication so not entirely sure about that reference.
