Why do we like to watch carpets being cleaned? It doesn’t tax our brains and there’s something about seeing something grossly dirty becoming clean and colourful :-)

If you thoroughly rinsed the rug off on a rack a few inches off the ground to get the bulk of the crap out of them first it would save you so much effort , all your doing is pushing all the mud etc to the other side and back again……you need to be able to push the dirt and debris right out not just move it around lol…. I suppose it would not look so dramatic doing it on a horizontal rack .

I always wonder that these stained dirty rugs are practically soaked with mud but they *never* show thin or bald patches where the walking paths must have been. These rugs are never worn out but show fluffy fabric after cleaning. It’s a miracle.

Maybe its from a flooded house .we had 4ft of Bayou water in my Parents house ...

This is my 3rd filthy rug cleaning to watch..I can appreciate the cleaning to show a beautiful rug but what I don't see is how or why ppl let their rugs get this way..or maybe the video ppl take a rug, roll it in garage and soak in mud then clean it is their way of making a video...

Unfortunately all the dirt wasn’t removed from the backing so when it dries it will wick the dirt back to the surface.

I can’t understand how the owner of that rug let it get so bad before throwing away. Unless it survived a fire or something, the owner of that rug is disgusting if they had that anywhere in their home.

Whenever I watch one of these videos I ask myself, why go through all the trouble? Sometimes there is a beautiful Persian style rug under all that muck making it worth while, but today nothing. That rug wasn't worth buying new. It sure wasn't worth spending the time to clean it.

I'm changing my profession to rug cleaner. I'd do that all day for free , getting a paycheck would just be a bonus.

Where do you find these? I’m guessing a landfill? How do you know which ones are worth cleaning? It seems that if they were coming from families, it would cost much more to pay for your time cleaning than it would to buy a new rug. No? Maybe they just have sentimental value? If that’s the case, how did they end up looking like they spent the bulk of their lives at the bottom of a pond?

I have an area carpet with a raised pattern. Getting old. My niece offered to power wash it. She left it outside on sawhorses to dry. It rained on it. The rug is pretty heavy so she had to continue leaving it out side. Now it looks as though it’s got black mold. Have tried getting splotches from back, but nothing has worked. Should I just throw it away?

It cost more to clean the rug than what the bloody thing is worth.

Great professional job. But just one question. Is it absolutely necessary to use thousands of litres of water for this purpose? Especially why not wipe the floor in place of wasting water? We need to realize the value of water even when it's freely available.

I really don't need to keep seeing the floor being cleaned.

Why does he not rinse the rug between cleanings? He scrubs, then squeegees the dirty water around the rug, then scrubs again without rinsing. Sems counter productive
