I’m glad I wasn’t drinking coffee at the time - I’d have spat it out all over the floor with laughter! Vid IQ have been roasted in a few videos I’ve seen recently. I’ve laughed every time.
But Vidiq loves to copy other people’s thumbnails that has proven to work smiles not just one. Well it has worked for them and there is no RU-vid rule that says getting ideas is bad and they aren’t 💯😅similar.
My RU-vid shorts are unique and I do not copy other RU-vidrs to go from 0k subscribers to 615K subscribers in 2.5 years. But I may take ideas/inspirations from other RU-vidrs in my niche.
Good stuff Collin! Now I've got to go finish shaving my head, rearrange my room, and make my video "The tricks RU-vidrs use to get views" 😆Thanks for all the great video info my friend!
This video speaks to why there's so much garbage on RU-vid. A lot of people are copying off of each other just to make money. So, RU-vid has become more of a money making platform instead of a channel full of uniqueness like it used to be.
I understand and this video only confirms that "copying" videos usually succeeds... But even as a new RU-vidr I don't do that, for me uniqueness is important and that's probably why I have 11 subscribers 😁
Nothing wrong with being "inspired" by other creators. Everyone wants successful videos. But no one should outright copy someone. Get some inspiration, then find a way to make your video at least slightly unique.
You know who else does it? Rene from RU-vid.....He wrote me a note just last week...." You're one video away from getting booted off this platform. Have you ever considered actually making a good video? ".
Yes, especially on social media a lot of those people who do that are narcissist and it’s called character trait acquisition they go from creative to creative stealing ideas to piece together their pitiful identity
I personally don’t like it, but I’m an old-school artist I’ve been ripped off I mean many people were inspired me without crediting me decades not on this platform, and on this platform I don’t think it’s cool and I don’t like it that’s all
I tried to be unique, but then I saw colleagues getting ahead by being copycats, some even used the sentences on bigger creators in their videos. Being a copycat works.
Wow 6:20 was eye opening. I always suspected this guy in the glasses fr VidIQ to be fraudulent in his 'advice' Copying thumbnail style is one thing. But he legit stole the content too. He recently did a livestream analysing channels thumbnails giving feedback and he didnt have much to offer. I wont be watching any of his vids going forward.
You just made me feel foolishly eye opened right now Sir, i cant believe wat I just watched, if it was the lesson learned alone, I wud still b sane here, but my Insanity has skyrocketed bcus of the examples of channels u used, these mudafukas hav been fooling me for the past one decade. While they have been doing these shit for years, I sure knw dats nt there only copy videos, holly shit, vidIQ FOR CHRIST SAKE. WAAAWW,
I don't believe this as people in general are honest and ethical. Like I bought this book "How to Be A Scammer and Scam People Out Of Their Hard Earned Money" a year ago. I'm still waiting for it and can hardly wait! So excited.
I noticed the Aprilynne Alter one months ago. If you watch it, she literally copied his spoken hook/intro word for word. It’s interesting because she never went viral before/after that video. And none of her videos ever get spectacular views - her best video was a stolen hook and title which begs the question, how good really is she? 🤔
HOLY CRAP…. Did not see that! Would have added that to the video because this is almost a word for word. This is why this conversation needs to be had.
I like your take on this but as you said it's just using a proven formula that you know is going to work. It's called doing good market research and creating your video around a proven thumbnail and title strategy. Obviously as you say, it has to be unique to you and not a direct copy bit if it works, it works
This video was educational it was unbiased it was fair. It pointed out things that we need to be aware of and also it pointed out how we can improve. It did suck to see that VIDIQ steal a smaller content creators idea Gain higher views from it and not tag that content creator or give them credit and acknowledge that the idea came to them.
I'd like to know what value a thumbnail has when the person or whatever has a luminous glow around them. Seems to have become really common the last 6 months, but I think it looks sh*t. Also, the 'shocked/surprised/OMG' faces that seem to be on most thumbnails nowadays. Radioactive person looking like they just caught their parents going at it = guaranteed click, or so it would seem....
I've started a channel hoping that I could get an extra income for my child's therapy since he was diagnosed with autism. But I gotta admit, it's been rough, and I'm struggling.
My thumbnail is the 2nd 0-1M example, and you're 100% right about people using the same/similar concepts for thumbnails, although my video was posted before the other 0-1M examples you mentioned, I did get this format from a Ryan Trayhan video (Turning $0.01 Into $1,000 in 24 Hours) and used it for the 0-1M concept. Since this video I've been trying to improve the way I make my thumbnails, and after watching your video I'm sure I can do even better. Great video and information Collin, thanks 🙏🏼😁
I've also noticed that too, there are a lot more. Originality, uniqueness and creativity gone. It had me thinking that Big RU-vidrs are focused on monetization of videos rather giving value to viewers which they say they do but actually not by saying the same things other RU-vidrs already said. Also tired of those long sponsor product spiels. I'm in a very saturated niche but I love this niche that's why I still do it. Moreover, I don't copy my predecessors.
Their SMMAs are probably the same, using the same graphics... and no one knows or/and cares... as long as the traffic keeps coming... and there's an app for that. ;)
the VidIQ piece was hilarious. I saw all of the comments talking about it and was looking specifically for this instead of watching the video then I just started watching the portion. I really wanted to see Eddie caught me off guard. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a pretty sad truth. As a beginner creator, I watch many of those videos and see that almost all channels in that niche do the same topic in quite similar timing
Usually though it's because those tips or advice/help works that's why. That's why I don't follow a bunch of RU-vid help channels. I follow Nick Nimmin, Roberto Blake, creator insider and think media. They all offer something different and get their knowledge straight from people who work at youtube
Oh vid iq has been really sus lately and this just confirmed what I kinda knew already. There was a video where vid iq was interviewing april Lynne and the interviewer did not look like he wanted to interview her
Er, . . . Can I steal your video concept and not credit you? 😆. I'll call it "The Views RU-vidrs Use To Get Dirty Secrets". We'll chuck it up to a (remix). 🤣. No? Fine, be like that! Hmph! 🤬
I have to pause and type my comment cause that knocking on the door was crazy and super engaging. Anyway this is really a good video and i watched it through. Thanks for this inside of popular youtubers and as small RU-vid channel like me implementing this strategies will not be bad at all. Wish me luck!🥰
No surprise, right. There are pure creators and then there are duplicators. Both have a place I suppose. One or two words/scenes away from pure plagiarism. But it works. Emulation is the purest form of flattery. After all, “7 Minute Abs” led to 6 Minute Abs, then 5 Minute Abs, then Slug a Beer and Forget Your Abs 😂
Excellent video. Appreciate the research you put into it. Based on what I'm seeing in Canva, I can understand why so many thumbnails look so similar. Curious to see if AI will lead to greater creativity and uniqueness or more generic content.
? No RU-vid coach gets a ton of views though. Because not everyone needs help plus gearing towards creators gives you a smaller market. And out of those alot of people don't need help or aren't interested in a certain thing. Also I wouldn't say he doesn't get views lmao. Especially since you don't even make videos.
This is tough, I'm a brand new channel and obviously want to grow but not sure this is the way for me. Love your content though I've learned a ton from you.
Again, it’s not about mimicking but finding the demand. I totally get not wanting to do what everyone else does and I don’t think everyone should. However, I do think making content viewers are interested in is required.
She’s interviewed in the video yes. I think this thumbnail they did was unique enough by combining two different thumbnails and adding their own spin. The title being 1 word off from the successful video from 2 years ago is a bit pushing it IMO.
🤣🤣🤣VIdIQ knocking. They should at least give credit when they copy other RU-vidrs ideas, concepts, scripts. Just subscribed, you got my attention 😃 Great advice about researching material from other and yet creating your own!!!!
