The Moody Blues made music that glides between space and time, lifting us into the pastures of the sun and putting our souls to flight. I am deeply grateful to be born in the 1950s at a time when magic and mystery enriched our minds and music rocked us like a mother 💐
I first heard them in 67 back when I was 15 and immediately loved their music. It was Rock, but it wasn’t , it lifted you and you floated along . I read The Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy ,for the first time, while listening to them . They seemed to pull me along through the stories and adventures. I’ve listened to them now for 55 years, can’t say that for any other band.
My favorite band of all time. Have met them several times over the years and went on several of their music cruises 2013+. Sadly the April 2020 one was cancelled. They are most accomodating and friendly musicians you can imagine. Thank you for grouping these lesser known Moddies songs. Long live the Moody Blues. RIP Ray Thomas. 🥰🎄🎁🙏🏼☕️🍩
And from the original lineup, RIP Denny Laine and Clint Warwick. May the remaining four former Moodies (Mike Pinder, Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Patrick Moraz) live long and prosper.
So spiritual. I was knocked by their deep lyrics and concepts giving me goosebumps ever since the late sixties. Together with their dreamy music. The Balance, gypsy, one more life to live. Story in your eyes. Whew!!! Just beautiful and ahead of their time!
They truly one of the greatest rock band ever! They make me feel good inside like no other and live They are amazing, they reproduce thier sond like very few! I've been lucky enough to have seen them over 60 times never disappoint ! Thanks for the journey Moodies!
I am so pleased that so many love the Moody Blues I have been a fan since 1967 and will never change. I have seen them many times live and Justin Hayward solo several times. S 😢 P T and Jutstin .haywars
..I LOVE the Moody Blues' music!! They write some of the most meaningful songs, and beautiful music! The "FUTURE" will be, as it must be!.. always, just a step ahead of us... So,...keep moving forward!!
Thanks for a mix of my favorite band. I grew up on a commune in the 1970s had many a trip with the Moody's. Now listening in Cambodia. Introducing my 6 yr old son and he is dancing everywhere.
Give an applause to thé Best rock progressive band, moody blues are in the sky. From nabeul, in tunisia to all fans of the band who create nights in White satin, twiglit time, For ours childrens, childrens, children. They make our seventies one delicious Dream, for eternity.
I have lived every note of their music. I am here because "New Horizons" gave me hope and "Question" gave me courage... Thank you and God bless you all.
I wish the song "Island" had been released on 7th Sojourn - it has a slightly unfinished feel to it, but I love it - Brooding, moody and mysterious - Classic Moody Blues!!
Conheço sim THE MOODY BLUES, mas por favor poste tudo o que você tem dessa banda maravilhosa. Parabéns e obrigado pela postagem. ETERNAMENTE ROCK IN ROLL!!!!!!!
He Has told us to Care for this GIFT Earth he will bless our Efforts, SOON we as ONE in HARMONY United we Stand for his SOVEREIGNTY perfection is Coming back 😂 Will you Be THERE 😍🥰??
Great music indeed. Big Moody Blues fan here. The song Island at the start of this song list I believe was recorded right after they had recorded the album Seventh Sojourn, as they thought at first they would include it on a new album after Seventh Sojourn in 1974, but instead they ended up going their separate ways until 1978 when they got back together to record the Octave album. Island is a beautiful song. I wish they HAD included it on Octave ! Would have made that album even better than it was. Octave was a decent, good album with songs like The Day We Meet Again and Mike Pinders One Step Into the Light, but including Island on That album would have made it stronger.
"Simply Magic" is my favorite from the songs played here and John Lodge really stands out as much as anyone. At the same, I love the Octave album, it's my personal favorite. Pinder's mellotron work, lyrics and vocals added such depth and gravity to the Moody Blues. His departure left a void that seemingly was never recaptured...
Fenwaify- I totally agree that when Mike Pinder left the group, the keyboard and mellotron orchestra type sound that the Moody Blues had died with it. Don't get me wrong, when they recorded with Patrick Moraz in the 1980s, he was very talented, but it was a synthesizer type orchestrated sound, not that soothing , eerily deep, resonant, haunting sound that Mike Pinder brought to the group from the mid 1960s through 1978. It just sounded more Moody Blues with Mike Pinders mellotron and keyboards. I feel Patrick Moraz felt like a more pretend, or a plastic imitation of what Mike Pinders sound brought to the group.
@@pauledwards3992 There's a handful of post '78 stuff that I like, including solo Hayward efforts, though I haven't explored other solo work by other bandmates. Still, Pinder did more than just add sound; he composed three of my all-time favorite Moody Blues tunes: "Melancholy Man," "Have you Heard" and "One Step into the Light." I think he brought a contemplative soul to the band, a mystical element combined with a searching honesty. The fact that he left the band to focus on his family seems oddly mature in the wild rock and roll arena. His disregard of Edge was a mistake, which he later expressed. I just wish I could have heard far more from him with the band...Also, his limited inclusion/participation at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony/performance was very disappointing. Above all, I wanted to see him with the band on his glorious mellotron. Ah, such is life; wonder, compromise and loss...
Fenwaify- Undeed I totally agree with what you wrote. Been a huge Noody Blues fan myself since my teen years. I love those Pinder songs you mentioned. I even play Melancholy Man and One Step Into the Light on guitar. I'm a singer/ songwriter / musician myself. Getting ready to release a new album soon with 23 original songs me and my son wrote. But I also really miss Mike Pinder and his great vibes he brought to the Moodies. I also thought it was really wise of him to commit to his family at the time he did it. Showed a lot of courage on his part. I'm glad we still have all of their music though. Take care my friend, stay safe. Peace out, Paul
Your still Here are u Not composing a symphony along side Me...😂 Beauty and Some Beast I know theres a prince beneath the disguise...why im still Working things out, he will succeed
25:23 🥰💯❤🔥💓I love Moody Blues music, and this song is no exception. That beat, that rhythm is top notch. Can somebody *please* tell me the name of this song? I cannot find it among all the Moody Blues song titles. I keep hearing ''rescue me'' in the lyrics, and yet I cannot find anything with that as the title.

A great mix but more information would be great. For example, Mike Pinder never performed "One Step Into the Light" with the Moody Blues, wondering where this version is from? And "Island" seems to be different to the one I have too.
Hi, Joe Moss! I am a huge fan of Moody Blues. I friendly wish to inform you that Mike Pinder really played " One Step Into The Light" , on vocal, as lead singer, on OCTAVE album ( his last contribution , after that he moved to California) as you can read the follwings ': Side One "Steppin' in a Slide Zone" (John Lodge) - 5:29 (lead singer: John Lodge) "Under Moonshine" (Ray Thomas) - 5:00 (lead singer: Ray Thomas) "Had to Fall in Love" (Justin Hayward) - 3:42 (lead singer: Justin Hayward) "I'll Be Level with You" (Graeme Edge) - 3:48 (lead singers: Justin Hayward, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, John Lodge) "Driftwood" (Hayward) - 5:03 (lead singer: Justin Hayward) Side Two "Top Rank Suite" (Hayward) - 3:42 (lead singer: Justin Hayward) "I'm Your Man" (Thomas) - 4:21 (lead singer: Ray Thomas) "Survival" (Lodge) - 4:09 (lead singer: John Lodge) "One Step into the Light" (Mike Pinder) - 4:29 (lead singer: Mike Pinder) "The Day We Meet Again" (Hayward) - 6:19 (lead singer: Justin Hayward) MY BEST THOUGHTS FOR YOU ! From Romania, with sympathy, GELU BATIR, Rm.Valcea Town. January, 2020
Does anyone know the song that Justin does the lead on about 49 minutes into this album? It's quite beautiful and I never heard it anywhere before. It ends with the lyric, "The world upon his shoulders."
The song is called "On The Road" from the album "Gaia" by Alan Simon, composer. He also produced the album Excalibur II, Justin sings "Eather and Sky" (8:25) and Celtic Heart. Another beautiful song sung by Justin but not in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lnVnVWrwwnU.html
Hey Ed, thanks so much for sharing this music from the Moody Blues ! If you would provide a list of all the songs in order, it may help some of us rabid Moody Blues fans to seek to purchase some of this music by the individual musicians ? Would you, or could you possibly do that ? Thanks ! Peace out, stay safe, Paul
@@charlesstuart8009 No I was wrong. That song was on a album from I believe 2006-2007, called, "Excalibur 2-The Celtic Ring." Alan Parsons and Allan Simon were part of it as well. He also performed a lovely ballad called, "Celtic Heart." I believe the album is available on Amazon. You Tube has it as well...
It's a unfinished mix called "Island" one of their CDs has it as a bonus track, this particular song has been altered by someone. Several attempts have been made by fans to add stuff to Island to "improve" it but look for the bonus track for the original
The "A Simple Game" mix doesn't work for me at all. The recording with Mike singing the lead is vastly superior to the one with Justin singing the lead.
