The Disturbing Case of Helle Craft

Helle Craft was a 39 year old woman who worked as a flight attendant and lived in Connecticut. She was from Denmark, but settled in the united states...she was married to a man named Richard Craft...Richard was a commercial airline pilot...the couple met some time back in 1969
Richard was unfaithful way before they were even married and didn't treat Helle well at all...he would later say that the only reason why he married her was because she became pregnant. He would disappear for long periods of time, which would sometimes even be for weeks, and while away, he would meet up with various women that he was having an affair with
In September of 1986, Helle decided the time was right to call an end to the marriage...and by November she told him she was leaving...she was never seen again

As a prior law enforcement officer, I have seen many domestic violence crimes. Majority were males harming females. I implore anyone who is in a physically abusive relationship to leave. Even if the abuse is only verbally to start with, it always turns to physical abuse. Partners usually stay because they are afraid of the abuser. The mental games played against them is immense and they believe the abuser will never stop attempting to find and harm them. This is why many calls to law enforcement for domestic violence are hindered by the victim. If they think the abuser will be given a charge and incarcerated, they will recant their story. Unless there are physical marks or the victim cooperates, law enforcements hands are tied, at least in North Carolina. If you think the abuse will continue or may become worse, contact family and friends to help. DO NOT tell the abuser by yourself you are leaving or pressing charges against them. If you decide to do either of these or just one, have 2-3 people with you. Even better, get law enforcement involved as well to help build your case. There are many programs out there to help domestic violence victims. Most states have safeguards in place to advise the victim if the abuser is to be released from jail or prison so they can take appropriate action. Remember, a restraining order is just a piece of paper. It cannot stop an abuser physically, unless they are caught and charged with violating said order. Protect yourself and kids, if applicable. If you are legally able to do so, get a firearm and learn to use it correctly. If you don’t want a firearm, at least carry strong mace that is up to date and not expired. Yes, expired mace becomes less potent. If you can, get law enforcement grade mace, unless illegal to do so. Refuse to be a victim and don’t become apart of the statistic. Please, please, please get help. No family member, friend, or law enforcement officer want to find a harmed or dead victim. Please reach out, you’re not alone.

My "abuser", broke the intervention over 200 times. Was never sent to prison. Infact the day i went to the police station, the cop on, said it was his last day. So asked me to go home and write down every thing, as in a statement and pop it back in. That night my kids and I were hidden in a safe house.... thanks to me reaching out to DV services.

I was in an abusive relationship years ago. The relationship was still quite new, he said “if you don’t stop shaking,I’m going to rape you” I ran out of his house one night, he pulled up in his van and threw me over his shoulder,I was screaming, a man went to say something and he said “I advise you to stay out of it pal” so he did..I tried to finish with him,I was terrified of him. Luckily he went to prison for theft, he wrote to me twice a day every day, in so many words saying he loved me so I’d have to stay with him,then on another letter asking to see me one last time when he got out, so we can stay friends.. I rang the prison and the man I spoke to said “oh you dumped him cos he’s inside” 😡luckily when he got out,he just left me alone.

@floatingchimney
@floatingchimney 3 года назад
@@HydraVolt12 Look, doing shooting sprees is never a psychopath's modus operandi. I don't think you should worry about that. Psychopaths work on a more personal intimate level. A psychopath will not use bombs or weapons of high destructive capability - even with the fact that it can kill and injure more people that way. He's not a terrorist, people like him pick their victims on an individual basis. Also, when you're 87 your aggression is significantly reduced because of hormonal changes to your body. Even a psychopathic brain will lay dormant when the hormonal drive for aggression is reduced. Kids which are psychopaths and 80 year old psychopaths are RARELY an issue in a society.

Please reach out, you’re not alone." Notice he fails to mention men are less likely to report abuse by a woman? Then when they do the police simply brush it off and do not arrest or charge the woman. My ex wife was very abusive to our daughter and myself leaving marks and stabbed me once. This went on for 2,3 years before she stopped and what happened when I reported it? They took my wife to a battered womans shelter even after daughter backed up wife was abusing both of us.

@@joshmiller9783 What does that have to do with what I said, though? It's horrible that men are victims of domestic abuse, just as much as women being victims of it is. I'm sure a lot more people care than you think they do. @@joshmiller9783, My ex stabbed me also in addition to hitting, scratching, kicking and biting. She would then call the police and claim she was being abused even though she did not have a mark on her. They never asked me what happened but took her to a battered womans shelter. When she stabbed me I went to the police station, showed them the wound and all they said was "deal with it" and laughed. She bit my left forearm down to muscle and blood then called the police claiming abuse. Once again without even asking me they got out the cuffs and were going to take me to jail for domestic abuse. I showed them the bite mark, they put the handcuffs away and take my wife to a battered womans shelter. She did it one time and called the police. The town marshal shows up with county deputy and they told her " We know you are the abuser and not your husband. Next time you call we will take you to jail." She stopped instantly, that is until we moved to a different county. There she scratched me from neck to belly button with both hands ripping all the buttons off of my shirt. So went in and reported it and had pictures taken. Nothing happened to wife.

To my surprise, the street is closed off! Interesting because this is one of the most infamous cases in CT and they blocked off the road from traffic. Now remember this happened some 35+ years ago. So I wouldn't think it would still be closed off. I plan on going to the scene again, parking my car and walking in next time, as no traffic is allowed down that street.
