As a recovering alcoholic & pothead hearing, “If you ever feel like your life is turning to shit, drugs is the worst thing you can do. You just gotta raw dog that shit & go to therapy,” was extremely inspirational.
I'm really proud that after my break up, I DID exactly do that because I'm so against drugs and drinking. My ex turned to drugs and started drinking way more and got closer to the friends we shared who were HARD alcoholics, drug users, and super toxic in general... I feel like I really won in the end
I honestly feel, these days, that I can't go through my everyday life without being high. I'm never trying any drug other than marijuana and I'm not on the level of being faded everyday. Therapy is way to expensive so once in a while my sister and I get high and just talk about the stuff that's been getting us down lately and I think I'm happy with my relationship with weed. I don't think it's hurting me or that I'm abusing it

After something like ten years, he still couldn't quit, and the entire process was documented with posts, some years apart from each other, some months. That guy got heroin from a park and posted on reddit that he would try it, but the story I'm talking about was a guy who said he wanted to smoke cigarettes to prove he could quit. Honestly Dantavius didn't give the broken arms guy a fair chance, because literally he was groomed by his own mother. If I remember from the Whang video, the broken arms guy was young (i think 13-14?) and its 99% likely that his mother used his condition as an excuse to molest her son over the course of a few years, that's textbook grooming. That kind of thing does happen and I feel like nobody really takes it seriously because it was female on male. It wasn't "Bro just dont jack off" because at that age its very easy to get manipulated, especially by an authority figure like a parent. edit: the fucking firefighter one feels like it came out of nowhere, like "you know who else cant sleep? the three year old you father killed" HOW DO YOU RESPOND TO THAT??

Damn, bro. The Eric and Annie story is just wholesome, but the ending is sad. I can understand Annie on catching feelings on her long time friend, one that you've been severely tight with. But I can't help but feel sympathy for Eric. Imagine your long time friend, one you're close with, one you love, one that you've never left their side and vice versa, just for them to abruptly leave because of jealousy. What is also interesting to me is that the woman who "lost time" explained in her posts how disturbing memory loss can be, presumably due to Scopolamine poisoning. While that guy flipnflop who ate Datura, of which the active chemical is Scopolamine, did it for "fun".
My best friend is a guy who is into vintage fashion and, as such, often wears gloves. He's gotten messages from multiple men like the Glove Man, who clearly have an intense fetish for gloves and will ask him inappropriate questions and pressure him for more glove pictures. Luckily, since it's over Instagram and not in person, it's just a weird and uncomfortable thing he occasionally has to block people for. Guess there's a fetish for everything.
The losing time sounds a lot like signs of schizophrenia. My family has a lot of problems with it and she explained pretty similarly to what my uncle for example went through. He would see military people come for him and black out.
I have schizoaffective disorder (no hallucinations or extreme delusions) and amnesiac qualities. Memory loss is a coping mechanism your brain develops as a defense mechanism from stress I believe, at least for myself. For the cult one, OP addressed it was just a silly fictional story he thought of while listening to a mystery podcast (specifically on an episode about heavens gate) and he got inspired to write a story too about a cult instead of doing his work.
The Whistler creeped me out because I had an experience a few years back where I heard a whistling that almost sounded like wind. At the time my dog was sleeping in my bed and she perked her ears up so that was my first hint something was off. Since it was coming from near my window I assumed it to be a strong gust but after looking there were no trees rustling outside and the whistling continued. Then something happened that I literally have no idea how to explain to this day, the sound started to move and was clearly in my room, being freaked out by this I went under my covers and the whistle moved along the length of my bed and stopped near my nightstand for a couple seconds before stopping. Normally I would've chalked it up to an overactive imagination or a realistic dream, but my dog refused to sleep in my bed ever again after that night.

the "one time trying H" turned addict guy is a really sad story when you also take in account the multiple people who have since confronted him and blamed his first post for them getting into H themselves and ruining their lives
If one guy telling you heroin is pretty good is the only thing between you trying H and not trying it, you were going to do it anyway. Every addict starts out saying this, and some never stop lying to themselves. I can understand why people would blame the guy, but I hope he doesn't feel responsible for them. I feel bad for kids that get into hard drugs before they have a chance to know better, but a surprising amount of people just think they are strong enough or have some special resistance and do them with all of the knowledge they need to know that they are going to get addicted.
Man, I miss the time when ANY of this stuff grossed me out, weirded me out, or freaked me out. Not even sure if ANYTHING can phase me anymore, and that’s the scariest thing of all…
So, as someone who has Borderline Personality Disorder, what she said sounded eerily similar to the shit I used to pull pre diagnosis. I think 1.Annie developed romantic feelings for him 2.Jealousy made her feel like a new woman in his life meant that he was going to abandon her so she abandoned him to avoid the pain of that. I’m not saying she had BPD, or a personality disorder similar to it, but I don’t think she killed herself. She probably attempted at most, but attempts after getting triggered are very impulsive and more often than not lands the person in a psychward rather than the morgue. I hope she got help because she didn’t sound okay at all, I feel really bad for Eric in this situation.
I cried, and I keep seeing people blame Annie. I agree she pry had something wrong with her but those two clearly had a relationship that was like nothing else. I hope Annie is ok and to be honest I bet Eric is alright. Sad though.
I remember reading that one about that evil son nearly getting killed by his own mother, it is that insane of a story I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s fake but holy shit it takes you for a ride the first time you read it
It has to be fake. Everything up to the mother beating the son is almost a dead ringer for the movie We Need To Talk About Kevin so it just sounds like fanfic based off that
@@JoeMama-sx3bd the guy also mentioned that in the post if you do a quick scan when it pops up, so I'm not sure if that fact would tie in or not He does indeed acknowledge that We Need To Talk About Kevin is very similar to the story though
I also think it's likely fake. If the dude was beaten to a pulp and knocked unconscious, there's no way he would recover without medical help. If it's real, that's some of the scariest shit out there.
Definitely watch We Need To Talk About Kevin, my theory is that OP is a writer and probably took heavy inspiration from that movie when he wrote that story
That whistling one. It was just just bird watchers doing a bird call lmao. That's why the whistling was always the same, and the dude that got yelled at was like wtf and just rowed away. Because what else would you do if some random person screamed at you while you are out bird watching.

the eric/annie thread makes me so mad because what a selfish person annie appears to be- CLEARLY she had strong feelings for him that were no longer platonic and wanted to have her cake and eat it too (talk to eric and have him all to herself without "breaching" any relationship boundaries). absolutely terrible for her to suddenly leave him high and dry just because he introduced another woman into his life. it's obvious that this really hurt him considering the posts years after she abandoned him. awful
Yeah, I feel too many people are giving Annie a pass here when she was acting shitty. I get you can’t force yourself not to fall in love with someone but acting like that when a person who thought these messages were just platonic is fucked up. Poor Eric, hope he’s better now.
My personal theory is that she had dependent personality disorder, and as someone who also has it (which is why I believe she does - I recognize her wording and attachment to Eric with shit she said over the years in their convos. But I could absolutely be wrong, it’s just my own theory) I agree with you. She was clearly mentally ill, whether she had DPD or not, and I empathize and all that but being mentally ill or struggling doesn’t excuse certain behavior.
I can’t watch or listen to normal creepy/horror videos because of my anxiety, but people that will go through horror with comedy makes it so much easier for me to listen to. I love creepy genres and this helps me indulge without having anxiety attacks listening
Nothing tops the Jolly Rancher story. Steve and his girlfriend Samantha went off to college in August. She went to Florida State, he went to Penn. So, she decides to fly to PA to visit him. He was really happy to see her so he decided to give her some oral action. He had done this numerous times before and he always enjoyed doing it...but for some reason, this time, she smelled really horrible, and she tasted even worse. He didn't want to offend her though because he hadn't seen her in months...so he put a Jolly Rancher in his mouth to cover it up, even though it didn't do much to help. In the course of eating her out, he accidentally pushed the candy inside of her... and stuck a finger in to grab it out. He took it out, and put it back into his mouth and bit it. Only...it wasn't the Jolly Rancher. It was a nodule of gonorrhea. As in, the blister-like structure that gonorrhea makes filled with diseased pus was the size of a fucking Jolly Rancher and the poor guy BIT it. I guess it was really dark in the room. He freaked out and started vomiting all over the place when it exploded in his mouth... He demanded to know what was going on, turns out she had cheated on him at a club like, the first week of college, and fucked some random guy and the stupid bitch had no clue what was wrong with her. She noticed a strange smell though. So now, Steve is freaking out that he now has gonorrhea of the mouth and God knows what else.

Not to take away from how amazing it is that they managed to find info on real crimes, but I think you're giving these people a bit too much credit. In many of these cases, the redditors are given way more information than a real detective would, based entirely on post history. Using the missing kid as an example, the users were able to identify the kid because the user's profile revealed his location in completely non-investigative context. So they had information available to them that a real detective wouldn't have had. It would be like if a detective were able to go back and listen to old conversations the suspect had with random people completely unrelated to the investigation. If they had that, crimes would obviously be way easier to solve. Which is just to say that the post history of a redditor reveals so much information about a person, and a real detective would have to work his ass off to find that information. Whereas, the redditors just had to click on a profile and scroll.

Schrodinger's cat isn't just "you can't know until you open the box", it is an analogy for "particles are in multiple states until you measure them, which in of itself forces the particle into a definite state", so in the case of Schrodinger's cat it is not that you don't know, is that it IS alive and dead until you opening the box forces it to be one or the other. Very common misconception. Many worlds interpretation doesn't concern macroscopic behavior directly. Again, in one universe you make one decision vs making a different decision in another universe is meant to be analogous to the randomness of particle behavior due to quantum events. Quantum immortality is just crackpot nonsense that is fun to deep dive into in media and fiction. It has never held any actual relevance in Quantum Mechanics or studies, and is better viewed as a humorous philosophical take based on the wishy washy appearance of QM. It can't be "debunked" because it is not a theory. It is a spiritual take.
afaik Schroedinger‘s cat was just a thought experiment to show that quantum mechanics only apply to sub atomic sizes/don‘t apply to the macro cosmos. This experiment was blown out of proportions by the internet and people who have a huge lack of physical knowledge.

My bed kept vanishing and re-appearing all while I was in a loop of 'I want to lay down, oh I can't'. All while accepting everything as normal. Delirum... I used to use them in smaller doses with opioids for extra sedation but also bizarre hallucinations while still retaining my lucidness and the whole world would become very abstract. Like those images you see on the internet where each object in the image you can't even begin to identify what anything is. I feel obliged to put this in but - please stay away from these drugs. They don't feel good at all (unless using it like I did with opioids even then its not healthy nor are opioids lol) and have been linked to early onset dementia or increased risk of dementia later in life. On a high enough dose you can't tell that the stuff you see isn't really there, it just seems normal, and you're beyond fucked up.
Also I'd like to add that Scopolamine/The Devil's Breath, the drug mentioned at around 1:00:14 is also a deliriant, pretty much the same effects as Datura. You may be surprised that the antihistamine/motion-sickness drug - Buscopan contains Butylscopolamine - which when heated (smoked in a cigarette, or on foil) converts into scopolamine, producing effects.
I second this. When I was a teen, I started abusing Benadryl because I wanted to be asleep all the time to escape reality. One day, I took too much AND I couldn’t go to sleep. OD’ing on Benadryl makes you delirious, it was awful and everything looked so grim and I thought my mum was gonna sell me to the black market? For some reason? I stopped taking Benadryl after that shit, fucking traumatizing. It really wasn’t fun, at all, it felt like being in a nightmare. So yea, FR avoid deliriants…
Usually I’m against having people die at all but in the case of the story about that kid I’m horribly disappointed that the wife couldn’t finish the job… letting him live puts countless other lives in jeopardy and there’s no other sane option
Ah, you're disappointed. Damn, what a let down seeing as how the world revolves around you and we all just try to strive to make you proud. Imagine trying to use sanity while including murder. The consequences of such actions, I can't even begin to explain.... but seeing your comment, I'm not sure it would change your mind anyway.
@@HeroofSomething There is no therapy to "resocialize" people like that. People who are truly fucked in the head since birth can not be changed most of the time. Just how you can't truly get a pedophile to stop getting a hard on from looking at minors or teach someone born without empathy to feel empathy. Sadly that's the world we live in. Everyone has their own opinion on how people like that should be handled. But in my personal opinion death is the only solution for some beings. You probably have an entirely different opinion, which is fine. But why do you make it sound like the person above is self-absorbed tho? Doesn't make sense to me at all. They only said what they believe would've been the right choice and how they feel about this not being seen through. No need to be rude about it just because you disagree.
The penultimate story reminds me of a game called Firewatch. You play as a man on Firewatch in Wyoming who starts to find some spooky shit going on, people examining him and stuff, recording his conversations with his coworker, breaking into his post and trashing it, all that jazz. Eventually, you get beckoned into this old cave because everything points to there, and it turns out that it’s all been one guy doing this all to try and scare you away from the post because he didn’t want you to learn that his son has been decaying in a cave for the past 3 or so years. They were rock climbing and his son’s gear malfunctioned and he died.
