Very interesting talk, Jenna. If you remember, my brother and I (twins) graduated a couple years before you and played baseball with your brother. We also "made it out" and are in flight school in the Navy now. I understand how some families don't have the resources to get their kids to college. For me, I took on a mountain of college debt, but my career is paying it back very fast. The keys for me were latching onto the great teachers that were at Lisbon High School while I was there, working harder than I did the day before, and never ever throwing in the towel. Although my financial opportunities were a little better than average, my parents raised me to find my path and make it what I wanted it to be. That's what carried me through. Although social and economic factors do play a role, parenting is often overlooked. Thank you for your insight and a great Talk. :) By the way, now that I've left our small town, all I want to do is go back. There is more value in hard work than anything else in life and Lisbon has a lot of that if you look in the right places.
