S R H I'm sure you're not dim, I'll do my best to enlighten you, but this is only my take on it I could be completely wrong. By Juxtaposition I mean That the words in the song contrast with the next word or line in the song for example: "I'm the darkness in the light' I'm the leftness in the right, (darkness and light, leftness and right) they are opposites, but are often used to highlight differences. They can be used for fun or serious writings or any other thing. In this case I'm thinking it's fun. The Gin soaked boy is one of the horses running the race, I'm not quite sure about the juxtaposition of the song against the racing background, all I know is it's just amazingly clever and I love it. I hope that helps.
Yesterday I had this epiphany that every line in this song described a thematic connection between his other songs with Neil himself being the gin soaked boy and Gin or Djinn being his muse or talent. Total bullshit I know but it kept me amused for a few minutes

They are one very underated band. Love his voice and lyrics are genius. He does it all with a sense of fun as well. Comes across as a very likeable fella.

Underrated doesn't mean they don't have talent or don't have fans, rather that given their incredible talent, they should be more famous and successful, including outside of the U.K. The fact that they are virtually unknown in the U.S, the biggest English speaking country, says a lot.
@@turnover7 No, you are wrong. When you 'rate' something, you give an opinion of how good (or otherwise) you think it is. If you thought The Beatles were not that good then, as far as you are concerned, they'd be OVERrated. Similarly, if the general consensus of opinion was that The Divine Comedy were rubbish, than at that point you could say they were underrated. The number of people doing the rating has no bearing on this.
