An additional set of video files has been found from the 2001 FAIR Conference that has better sound and a different video angle than the versions that were first uploaded years ago in multiple parts. This is the first of the files, and beyond the historical value it is interesting to note that the same claims that are answered here continue to crop up again from uninformed critics.

I have tried to listen to every lecture that Dr. Peterson has given. I am extremely grateful to find this one. I know that the Book Of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost . I prayed to Heavenly Father and ask.

If Emma can speak authoritatively about Joseph not having notes or manuscript etc which he used to make corrections of his scribes’ spelling, or about how he could resume translation without checking where he had left off, why can’t we also take her at her word when she says that Joseph NEVER practiced or approved of anyone else’s practicing polygamy?

There is just too much evidence that she was lying about that part. And you can hardly blame her - it was a very tough situation for her.

Because the only historical source isn’t Emma. To deny the prophet practiced plural marriage is to deny he introduced temple sealings.

To Br. Dan, in the questions part of your lecture, someone asked about Oliver's attempt at translating. You referenced D&C "take no thought save to ask." Are you aware, that some BYU guy presented the idea that, take no thought, was directed to Oliver's asking to translate. Maybe the Lord was teaching Oliver to ponder and pray about, what to ask God for. Alma's idea of "if we pray not a miss."
