ANNA says ISAC has us saving one community by destroying another and implying ISAC lacks consciousness. It'd be crazy if we were given the option of which system to guide us.
I feel like the three different AIs have different language aystems, like Diamond using just Binary while ISAC using a lightly tweaked version of Binary and ahatevrr ANNA uses
Having just fought off a pair of rogues in the Summit, another thought: This story line gives an interesting twist to those rogue agent encounters when they say: "I'm making the world a better place..."
I wish the Devs actually changed the look of DC to show an actual time change maybe more foliage would have grown maybe more building are now occupied with enemies or friendlies establishing new settlements or bases and definitely the environment if it’s supposed to be October in game then the trees should be changing or in a comm have a character mention they need to start gathering gear and storing supplies to battle the winter

So Division 1 takes place in 2015 and Division 2 in 2016? Very satisfying to know where we are in the timeline now because i thought Division 2 was 2020 for some reason.
@kingnothing5678 I want to say Division 1 takes place in January 2016- but yes the outbreak would have began Black Friday 2015. Division 2 was always said to be in June of the following year, so with this info that would be 2016
Honestly seeing Manny reaction towards Kelso going rogue & joining with keener is great but I really want to Paul & Roy reaction to all of this cause they been around since division 1 alongside them having a grudge & history with keener. Also hopefully next season or two that we see them be more pro-active in story about Kelso & Keener either teaming up with Manny or seeing a bigger divide amongst the two parties.
Bwi g that the DLC is to take place in Brooklyn it's safe to assume we will leave DC as the main BOO and move full time to NYC. I think Keener atakes over the settlement in DC. Black tusk takes over the white gousr and we move to NYC.
It’s the lore that keeps me playing. But the latest descent comm pretty much lays out what was pretty apparent for awhile. Back when Pres Ellis was still around I wondered why he didn’t just order the division to cooperate with black tusk
He started having cold feet working with Black Tusk and wasn't happy about being a puppet President, which is established in "Ellis at Camp White Oak" memos and "Lost Ellis Memos"
There were some comms of Ellis awhile ago saying he had regrets about joining in with the Black Tusk. He was worried about his legacy as president, and what people would say about him after. He expressed not wanting to be a pawn of the Black Tusk and Sokolova, and to do things his way. I'm guessing his decision to not immediately incorporate Division with the Black Dusk was his own little way of rebelling against them. He may dislike the Division, but he hates the Black Tusk way more. After all, we did save his ass from Hyenas in the Bank HQ mission.
Hear me out. Are we sure Ellis is dead? Like actually dead, or just Keener "dead" and hell, same with Faye. It's easy to get out of a bad deal, if everyone thinks you're dead (worked for Keener and Theo)
As said here a few times already We've suspected for a while we were on the "wrong" side and potentially Rogue, not too much of a spoiler but the books show that ISAC could consider you "Rogue" if an agent got shot, "broke" into a Drug store for something to help heal themselves, the A.I. would call you a looter and classify you as "bad". Do yourselves a favor if you haven't already, pick up the trio of novels if you're into the Division lore, IMO you won't regret it, I've read through or listened to them (doubled down and got the audio versions for long out of town work trips) 3 times now, great stuff.

I knew we were Rogue soon as we leaned Calvins identity and his role in creating the division. Glad i bought that Keener outfit to fit the vibe. Better to be rogue and get things done than live under some megolomaniac authoritarians.
@@deandrehoward1261 Correct. We're rogue by law but ISAC still knows we haven't done anything against the "mission." ISAC is the A.I. for goodness sakes, he has all of the mission's coding built in. If we ACTUALLY did something against the mission ISAC would have turned all of our watches red. I think Keener's point is that we have to start using our own brains to determine who enemies are, which we've been doing for the most part (for example, fighting the black tusk) however there are others like Keener that we've just written off simply because of a watch color with no facts.
Maybe player "factions" would bring some interest back into the division series. Maybe implement some sort of map wide "dark zone" where your faction is friendly but all others are hostiles. Then when you're doing a mission "rogue/enemy" players could "invade"
Sorta like Deathloop invasion? Thats a pretty good idea imo. While it might be annoying to some, if they implement that idea, hopefully they have an option to turn off the choice to have others invade but lose the chance to get some sort of loot/extra xp from it.
@johnathantrejo5770 you'd opt in by selecting a faction that way you can choose if you want to partake in that activity. It's similar to the old pirates of the Caribbean mmo they had. You allied with the French or Spanish and could have their flags up. If you don't have that flag selected then you're essentially in peaceful mode to do quest.
As much as this sounds cool, as a LONG time wow player faction PVP doesn't work in concept, it just ends up splitting the community or everyone picking one side as the "dominant" one. There's some small emergent gameplay where seasoned players may join the smaller side to have stacked odds but it just ends up alienating 80% of the playerbase as they have either the choice of: Being outnumbered Only Facing seasoned/high skilled players in pvp
Watches only turn red when ISAC identifies an agent as rogue (or they are using ANNA) according to ISAC, we're still doing everything correct, we haven't gone "rogue" as far as ISAC is concerned.
@@eliminate100. That's because ISAC's directive haven't changed to consider Black Tusk allies of the state and McManus as head of state. ISAC is still operating under the assumption that The Division is on task, that Black Tusk is another armed group working against government and that there's someone in charge of the country. And not McManus. When that changes, ISAC will turn on us in an instant.
Basically, a Mission Impossible plot. We're IMF agents being disavowed and now enemies of the state. We eventually take down the bad guys an reclaim our status as non rogue. 😅

Which means ISAC may use any form and many ways to do this (rogue agents with ANNA included) Hunters much more interested for me btw The voice actor for the ISAC AI is actor Brandon Keener. Did you drop something on me? I thought that Thomas Parrott's novels took place parallel to current game timeline; I didn't think they were near future on the line of 2017... Near the end of 'Hunted' Maira mentioning the changing leaves and cooler air, perhaps putting 'Hunted' right about in line now with Div2 in late October? And didn't we get game comms involving Nat and (question mark here) Stovepipe or McManus mentioning the St. Louis dirty bomb with mentions alluding to it being recent past...? Maybe I missed something in the novels (or just forgot as it's been a minute...or months...since I read them) or a comm I missed which, if I missed one and it came from Descent, is highly likely... (side note: I just LOVE how Mari chastises Manny when he claims Keener and Parnell are the "most dangerous people on the planet" - "No! No, they're NOT, Manny!", like she's telling a child no cookies before bed, I can even see her finger wagging in his face and everything! LMAO! She will make a PERFECT wife for Manny if they get hitched!)
At the end of Crossroads: Hunted, Sokolova ended up getting the base code for the countermeasure which she then used to disable the SHD Network during the ending to Reign of Fire.
@maverick_cw Recruited was confirmed by Thomas on Twitter to take place during September/October of (what we now know is) 2016. Season 11 happens in mid-October 2016, and so the reports from St Louis were just rolling in, hence its big emphasis that Season. Compromised then does a major timeskip to April of the following year (we now know 2017). Hunted is then shortly after that, concluding in August of that same year
So... what is the the truth that we're supposed to be realizing about Manny? That he is stressed? That he loves his baby-mama? I genuinely don't understand what is supposed to be the big reveal here.
I love the rogue conversation because it confirms an issue I had ever since I first played division 2. The SECOND Blask Tusk showed up and showed the president sided with them my response was. “Wait, I don’t get it. If the president is with them and we arnt. By definition doesn’t that mean we are rogue?” So ya I love that. Proved my point I’ve made for years now
@@richardgaldos6901 If you look at the Echo when Ellis died in Camp White Oak, ISAC marked his Presidential status was revoked under the 25th Amendment. That happened after we saw the Echo of Ellis handing over the BSAV to Black Tusk.
Seeing how Calvin had a part to play in the VP turned president assassination and how the BT has participated in multiple acts of violence toward local settlements, I think I'm happy with the moral high ground.
I feel like that's part of why ISAC hasn't flagged us rogue. As we learn things and gain Intel, so too does ISAC. There may well be more than we give credit for in that ISAC does not recognize Cal (or Ellis before him) as the rightful POTUS due to what we know. Sure, ISAC is rather black or white in regards to morality compared to ANNA, but it's fully capable of analyzing Intel. I do like ANNA, but something tells me we shouldn't fully trust ANNA. Maybe I'll be wrong, who knows, but there's that nagging thought of wondering if she's not a little too self-aware and a little too rogue.
Honestly, considering how events were unfolding in the Division universe, everything was heading towards the end of the Initiative or its transformation (yeah, an allusion to the phoenix). This means - to go AWOL under the pretext of carrying out tasks set by the directive, but in one's own way - or to join the current groups in the struggle for power - or simply resign from one's duties Because just preserving what's left will most likely just lead to the complete destruction of the Division. Frankly, I would be more surprised and pleased if the renegade network had a secret bottom - other than countering the Tusks and Hunters. Which consisted in the inclination and unification of different factions of the game into one community. According to the precepts of the 2014 cinematic, and its last line: - But someone has to be there to pick it up. To push back. To put the first piece back together. To put us all back together.
We're definitely going to be labeled rogue eventually, but I think that'll be next season's conclusion. I feel like this season is going to end with Keener deciding to work with us and leading us to New York to start gearing up for Brooklyn. Then season 2 might end with Calvin using his influence to mark us as rogue and disable ISAC in some way. This would make us need to use ANNA and Keener's network to move forward against Black Tusk. However Keener is able to switch between rogue and SHD is going to be extended to us, which could give us the option at the end of the Brooklyn story to choose if we want ISAC or ANNA to be our operating system of choice. Parnel might have a copy of ISAC's code and integrates it into ANNA so we have that choice.
I'm not gonna lie, I was almost as angry as Manny was. At least I know I wasn't the only one feeling that way. Havent done the Leto trials yet, so Im gonna get into it with my buds.
Also I have a theory that how Theo Parnell is actually alive and he's with Keener and Kelso. Remember in the Tombs mission where we have to go after and eliminate Theo, then in the stage where after the part we kill The Judge then the radio comes in, Theo is contacting Keener to request for extraction but Keener refused which we thought that Theo has no choice to fight but as soon we encounter him, he doesn't even talked at all during the fight he's too quiet unlike Kajika, Dragov, and Conley that they keep blabbering that we will never understand why they turned against The Division and JTF. Then there's possible that Keener and Theo faked their conversation to make us believe that Keener will not help Theo and Keener is smart and since he was a First Wave Division and the First Rogue, he knows a lot how ISAC and the watch works since ISAC can patch and hack through enemy comms, in reality Keener really extract Theo out then sent his double to act as Theo. But the only question is... Keener should have been dead when we shoot him down in Liberty since us and Kelso saw it in our both eyes, but here's out there again breathing but he doesn't sounds hostile to us at this point instead he giving us some hints that he's not our real enemy but Black Tusk, only way to find out once last manhunt arrives in September!
Nothing major here, but I’ve noticed Manny comms when doing bounties have changed. His voice sounds older or tired or stressed out. Just something I noticed with this last update. FYI. Also, this last update was 13gb on pc, pretty big considering the notes. Maybe things being installed on the back end. Anyway, do a few bounties you’ll hear the changes in Manny’s voice. Thanks for the vid. Always look forward to them.
And there it is yet again - a brilliant callback to the Manhunt vs Schaefer. Remember when he berates you during the fight, saying that he's the real patriot ? THIS IS WHAT HE MEANT. And I'm guessing that Ellis didn't want to play ball but did so reluctantly, which is why Fae offed him. The only thing that doesn't really fit, is that the Descent comms paint McManus as being a fairly by the books guy (to an extent). But he's effectively staged a coup with Nataliya - at least on the surface because it's also clear as day from the comms that they HATE eachother. So I really do think there's going to be a multi-faction civil war in Div 3 - what really has me curious now is that last comment about Manny by Keener. To be perfectly honest Manny has seemed sus AF to me this entire damn time, partly because of some of the echoes you can find about him around DC in the base game. I am willing to bet he is in DEEP with McManus and may even become our enemy. And before anyone says that doesn't make sense because of Black Tusk, like I said those two hate eachother and it's entirely possible Manny has just been temporarily out of the loop or even leading us on. He might just be waiting for some signal and then for all we know the LMB or "White Tusk" will all turn on Black Tusk. There are a lot of cool turns they can take with all this.
Yeah, the whole alliance between Cal and Nat is built on shaky ground, I think. They both "need" each other to try and defeat us, and to take control- but neither want the other to solely succeed or fully take control. Cal withheld info given by Ortiz from her, and he directly threatened her that he has Hunters embedded within Black Tusk that she doesn't know about. A great setup for TD3 indeed!
I mean, Keener is now training us...his face is all over the "manhunt" which isn't really a manhunt...and it's called First Rogue. Honestly, I don't think this is a major revelation. I did the first round of things when the season started, but I haven't come back since. I'm still waiting for actual STORY that a person can follow with in-order cutscenes that don't need to be unlocked with old manhunts or completing Descent which, I like, but is too hard for me to complete (and I haven't been able to matchmake with it even once) to take place beyond just audio logs which constitute mostly lore and not a flowing narrative. IF Division 3 happens, maybe I'll have to wait till then.
@RogueWill83 It has somewhat, and I'm glad they do that, but...the game still needs an easier to follow narrative storyline that's replayable beyond audio logs. Guys like Byf and Myelin do that in the Destiny community, and while they're both great, it's not content creators' jobs to tell the in-game story the game should be telling, ya know? I'd rather replay every major story beat than watch a ton of videos.
Ngn does a phenomenal job at rearranging the comms and putting things into chronological order to the best of his abilities and makes lengthy videos laying out the lore. Worth a subscription if you are interested in the lore. Dude is honestly the goat for putting in that much time to actually sort through all the collectibles and lay them out like he does.

Ive been saying this for a while. It only makes sense. Weve been rogue from the beginning. If the hunters go after roue agents, and we fight hunters all of the time, then that would make us rogues
Incoming Rant(lol): I've checked out of actually being invested in the story at this point. Literally no one acts like an actual person at this point. Calvin and Natalia are both these "huge" threats with their big plans, yet also for some reason, do some of the dumbest most illogical self-sabotaging stuff imaginable. I'm just "reading the rest of the book" to finish it at this point, and check that box off. Still like the game though, looking forward to the upcoming content. Also, good video as always Rogue. ISAC should have already labeled us as Rogues a long time ago, with all of these recent lore drops. Given some of the Descent comms, Calvin clearly has no control over ISAC designating who is Rogue or not. If he did, he would have already set us to Rogue Status because that would have been immensely beneficial to his plans(because that would make sense, or hell, give us an actual order). ISAC and the SHD have thwarted him and Natalia, repeatedly. We're supposed to believe that ISAC, a binary system that would mark someone Rogue for breaking into a pharmacy, has failed to mark us Rogue for fighting against our own CoC, when ISAC marked scores of Agents, Rogue, for going against orders from the CoC. So, we continue on with more and more convoluted hidden lore reasons(to be revealed) as to why this hasn't happened. There is very little internal consistency, and less and less, as this "story" keeps getting told. You can look at any one "tale" and it's fine, but start stringing it together and it's just a mess. Still want an explanation as to why the Hunters were killing us in NYC Survival. Let me guess, ISAC was already broken and should have informed us that we were Rogues for trying to save the antivirals. Right? (In reality, the Hunters were a fun little thing that Massive later decided to shoehorn into the story.) Next up, ANNA has secretly been working the entire time(despite multiple comms saying this isn't true), and has been controlling ISAC and DIAMOND the entire time. Oh and the whole "Puppeteers" Season, was a secret hint the ANNA has subtle mind control over people that wear ISAC and DIAMOND hardware. So, Calvin, SHD, BTSU, etc. Finally, In the last moments of Keener's death, ANNA transferred to his brain, and Keener is ANNA's physical avatar. All of those comms of Keener talking to people, are really ANNA learning how to be more human like.
You've hit the nail on the head of what a lot of us have been saying since the last season and now the latest manhunt has cemented what most of us had suspected all along. Thanks for the video RG it was entertaining and for those who haven't been following the game from the beginning, this does open up their thoughts on where the season is going to go. I said last month that I think that the end of the season is going to have a massive twist to the end that will make us gasp out loud and say WTF! Are we all…? 🤫
It honestly makes sense that we were rogue the entire time. That also means it’s time to abandon ISAC and embrace ANNA for better or worse because that means Natalaya has SHD by the throat and she’s simply biding her time.
Interesting in a way. I mean we always kinda suspected it whilst sort of convincing ourselves we're the good guys. Now we're the rogues officially, assuming we thought we were good, what plot device is there to compell us not to go AWOL (which i have mostly been from the game anyway IRL).
Morally/ethically I still think we're 100% the good guys, it's just that the bad actors are using the banner we unified under to deceive others to think we're bad

I'm still a little lost. I understand the course of history correctly? 1) Anna was put to sleep and her code was deeply hidden in the code of Isaac and the Diamond. 2) At the time of the first DLC, Keener and Theo deciphered and reactivated Anna and began building a rogue network starting from Liberty Island. 3) After the “death” of Keener and the recruitment of Fey, they disabled Anna and hid her in a box with two-factor verification. 4) After recruiting Kelso, they decided that it was time to turn her back on?
@segeyionov8576 To the best of my knowledge: Clarie Ortiz hid ANNA's code within the Mobile SHD Server infrastructure, and she was dormant for quite some time after Cal/Nat declined to fund the project. Theo then discovered ANNA, and got her working on a limited basis/access for the Rogues in Lower Manhattan for the events of WONY. I don't believe they ever disabled her again, as Theo/Keener continued their work immediately following their "deaths." In the ~2 months between WONY and Keener's reappearance in Y5S3, I think they were devising a way to expand ANNA's range and create a national Rogue network. Part of this new plan was to get more Mobile SHD Servers, which is what I *think* was within the two-factor authentication crate.
@@RogueGold But in one of the coms, Keener told Viper that placing Anna under two-factor authentication was the price of joining and Faye’s loyalty. It turns out something like that - Anna's core was isolated on that mobile server. It’s safe for the Rogues, as it doesn’t cut them off from gadgets, thanks to the test incident and McManus’ order. And who besides them could put a check on Keener and Fay’s watches on the box?
Tbh, before Kelso became rogue, I always thought that the JTF or ISAC are in the right track. But when Kelso officially become rogue, I hardly admitted myself that no, we're not the right track!

Truthfully, going Rogue is the only way forward. We signed on to save what remains yes, but with the chains constricting us (i.e., ISAC's programming and orders), we don't really have a choice on who to save and who not to save. It's all about directives from ISAC. And considering that ISAC's programming is of a black and white thinking, there is no way in hell we can decide whether if we are doing the right thing due to the lack of morality from ISAC. Another point to make is the descent comm that said that we are Rogue. We fought the Black Tusk in a war of attrition since reaching the endgame and with Birdie bringing up the secretary of homeland defence siding with the Black Tusk, it brings up a point of debate. Division Agents serve and report directly to the President of the United States, but who is POTUS now? Is Calvin in the line of succession for COG plans? If so, then yes, we are Rogue by technicality. But is he? We never got confirmation that he is POTUS nor knew whether if he is in line of succession. If he seized power, it is illegitimate and we are not Rogue and are fighting against a hostile power. So which is it? It was never confirmed officially. Can't wait for the season finale. I suspect there will be a bombshell waiting to be dropped.
I think Mari has been corrupted by Natalya. She clearly wants to take over manny position and it’s obvious that she’s been influenced. Especially after the comms and how she talks about vik.
👋🏼 RG, is it just me or is not coincidence that the game is now catching up and aligning with the books. First the apparel event, the events of book aligning with where we are at be it from a different angle given the establishment timeline. IMO I think seasonal characters were going to enable us to “play the books” to get players up to speed from the books perspective. In particular the Maira Kanhai story and her I.T programming abilities.
I was thinking that On the other side someone manipulating ISAC without our knowledge thinking were playing good guys and keener knew something about it and trying to find that person. In my Opinion Rogues are still Agents They just have Different Missions or approach on how to "Save what remains." Just Like how our agents Doing but we approach it in old fashion way, But Looks like We begun to slip away from that "Old Fashion" we always followed.

I had a feeling about this. I believe the seasonal characters (that were scrapped) had something to do with it too. For example: when we were playing seasonal characters, we were SHD. When we were playing our main character, that was the rogue story line. We will just have to wait and see how they spin it now. I don't think I really wanted the seasonal characters, so it's all good.
To be honest, my head hurts from all of the lore drops we have been getting. I seriously need a video recapping the entire timeline up to this point ://

The year drop was a nice tidbit to have. As well as manny’s reaction. I beat leto but I am not really seeing what keener is talking about with manny, however. Am I missing something? Manny just seems like he is in over his head (no smoke, I like manny).
I think it's just more of Keener's usual mindgames, and him trying to subconsciously make us doubt our leader's authority/control, and "believe" in Keener more
Keener gives us personal trials to do for him, to prove ourselves. Many after every trial : good work agent, you cleaning street one by one. Lazy Ubisoft can't fix simple thing what ruin plot and idea
