The Division 2 Review | Should Have Been Free2Play 

I've been waiting for this video to drop like a fat kid licking the windows of a candy shop. I am very happy to see that some of the "bugs" that you have shown in the video are ones that a lot of others have and are still experiencing. I for one cannot stand the fact that a broom or hand truck keeps you from taking cover in a cover shooter game. I do love The Division and the PvE side is quite fun and full of looting, all be it there is not much story. There are some cool riddles to finding things that all Division Junkies are happy to see. Overall I would give this game about a 7.5/10. I do agree that the guns and the mechanics of said guns is absolute garbage. Your point about the RDS being less accurate had me laughing out loud. You are spot on about about pistols and the ludicrous drop rates, I have several days game time in on one character and have received a total of 9 pistols out of that 9 only one was a revolver action pistol. I for one will not and have not spent real currency to purchase in-game cosmetics, however I did spend $120.00USD for the "Ultimate Edition" so that I could have the "Extra Stash Space" promised, only to find out that it was a lie and that we would receive the 3rd tier of stash space upon starting the game. Last time that I will be fooled by Uplay/Massive/Red Storm. I have Pre-Ordered 3 games ever in my life, Battlefield 1, Anthem & The Division 2. Needless to say those will be the only games that I will ever pre-order. I will wait from now on to order the games when they appear on sale (through Steam of course, because Fuq Epic and everything they do) and will be happy in my quaint little space of the universe playing something that others have grown tired of. Any way Mate great job once again in showing the ugly truth that others simply will not show because of not wanting to loose face with those they are sucking off to get free shit or recognition. In regard to the performance issues; I was having major performance and graphical issues. Did some digging and found a thread that suggested going into task manager and limiting Easy Anti-Cheat to having a single thread affinity. Did so and all of my issues were fixed. Posting this in the hope that it helps somebody else having similar problems.

in regard to " annoying NPC " THEY DO COME AND REVIVE YOU if your soloing and trying to take a supply post or whatever it was called when you call them in to help you out, they will come to revive you and if you keep the NPC up they will keep you up I found that very helpful more than once

Well, thanks for confirming what I had thought previously from playing both alpha and betas of the title. Ubisoft will be glad to know I bought the game. I agree with most of your points, but I've been enjoying the game nonetheless, lucky to not have ran into many of the mentioned technical issues. For context - 89 hours played, two characters at WT4, with the second one done without ever equipping a second weapon, second skill or picking a specialization, haven't ever played TD1. With all it's problems, TD2 is worth 50 bucks for me, considering that my alternatives in the current climate of a lot of releases being straight up horrible are either playing same games I sunk a thousand hours in and know every nook and cranny of or not playing videogames at all. However, I would say that gun behavior is the unicorn crap it is for balance purposes within the greater picture of design elements, and simply replacing it with realistic behavior would likely break gun balance in a major way, making many guns pointless and a few would become extremely effective. For example, how would you balance the 1200RPM .45ACP low-recoil Kriss Vector against a 600RPM 9x19mm Uzi clone, or even UMP-45 shooting the same .45ACP at 600RPM, in a game with DPS being this important because of all the bullet sponges? Why would anybody use a pump-action shotgun if a Super 90 would offer the same damage when it already has similar barrel length -> accuracy/range and same kind of tubular magazine, but higher rate of fire? Same for a bolt-action rifle vs. a semi-auto DMR? SMGs and assault rifles in particular are very obviously balanced around having similar DPS, with for example AKM doing more damage per bullet than FAL despite using a weaker round (and having a larger magazine) as it has lower rate of fire of 600RPM vs. 650RPM. I see no reason to make a .357 Magnum weaker than .45 though, considering that slow round-by-round reload can be an obvious and realistic balancing factor for a revolver. In order to keep all the guns similarly useful while keeping realistic properties, you would either have to introduce some kind of new gun mechanics that would balance them out, rebalance the whole game to make DPS much less important, or simply cut a lot of outlier guns out of the game. Not every game can have Escape From Tarkov level of firearm detail, sadly. If you know of an example of a game that combines realistic gun properties with equal-level gun balance (that is, all guns are equally useful against each other, without different external cost like in Counter-Strike) and high time-to-kill, I would like to take a look at it. I remember even Battlefield Hardline had issues balancing Vector SMG despite it's very fast in general time-to-kill. P.S. What kind of control scheme has 'move forward' on F!?

I have enough m44's to arm the entire red army for both world wars, but can't get more than 2 umps in total. This game has a lot going for it, but it needs a whole can of polish on a belt sander. I've honestly enjoyed it for the about a hundred hours I've played it, but oh my fuck does it need work.

Castle is meant to be grayed out, if you watched the cutscene you'd know why. Basically, it was shot with a mortar and everybody but 7 people died, its no longer a settlement. But you did bring up a lot of good points, altho some of them never happened to me personally.

I completely agree with the point, the survival mode is how the main game should have played. Makes me think back to the first trailer we had for Div1 many years ago. It looked like a tactical survival game. What we got and what we have is an action run-n-gun cover based shooter. Adequate, but could have been much more than what it currently is.

I didnt expect to click the like button after seeing the title as i am enjoying div 2 , but after watching i clicked like as your points are valid and make sense, even though as a console player i havent experienced half of the problems pc players have. 1200 hours on The Division 1, there's no way I was going to believe anything UBI said and just throw my money at The Division 2 for 2 reasons: 1. I knew this since Rogue 2.0 was introduced, killing the whole concept of walking into a dangerous zone where anything can happen and people you could trust are few. And 2. Game ran like dogshit on my Ryzen, 1080Ti build. The Division 2 will have to do some noteworthy rework to earn my money, but until then I'm not buying.

Very fair and reasonable video. That said I have over 300 hours in The Division and around 140 hours in The Division 2 at this point and I have experienced significantly less bugs than you have it seems. The first game I was quite late to the party with, but with the sequel I got it a week after it released. I've had one instance of seeing enemies t-posing very early on. I've had the occasional issue with getting stuck on the terrain but not often and it's never been more than just a nuisance. I've never had the ladder glitch. I've never seen teleporting enemies. I've has two instances of one of my friends avatars freezing in a crouch pose and skating around the streets without animations. Early on I had a repeating bug where enemies would be outside of the mission boundaries, but they would de-spawn after a while and count as if they'd been killed. This was the most regular glitch and it's probably been patched as I've not seen it happen in weeks. One glitch I do get a lot is a graphical glitch where my characters hair and clothing jitters about while I'm in the menus. No idea why but it doesn't effect anything. Never had any issues with the menus beyond that or the re-calibration station. I think the PS4 version that I'm playing is significantly more stable than the PC build, but then Ubisoft are known for badly optimising on PC. Interesting video all the same. I thought it was quite fair, though harsh. I do consider this one of my favourite games on PS4 at the moment, but it's hardly perfect. Keep up the critical discussions. The more people holding games to high standards the better.

Quality video, pretty much listed every issue I've had with this game. The only other thing I would add is about the gymnasts (enemies) we come up against, capable of super human movement, can stop on a sixpence, swivel in an instant, climb a ladder and jump back down in the time it takes you to pull the trigger. I spent a week working on my gear score, spending a lot of resources along the way and getting to 511. I come home one Tuesday evening and switch on my xbox and enter the game, only to discover that my gear score is now 495... WTF!!! I have no trust in the development of this game, I have no idea what I will be getting every time I enter it and speaking for myself, shouting expletives at my television does not come under the heading of 'enjoyable'

I'm enjoying the game a lot, but yes, it has MANY issues. One thing I would like to change (even in Division1) is that when I het the run button, I would like to detach... Too much to ask?

I'll be honest, beta aside I haven't suffered one Delta/Mike error......although am still experiencing teleporting NPC's and skills still not deploying even though this was meant to have been fixed........paint cans jumping up and down...........while running solo having some strange groaning noise coming from the speakers and the only way to stop it is to restart the session which is annoying as fuck..........and castle settlement is supposed to be greyed out as it's been destroyed 👍

I’ve played a fair amount of this game. The one thing that disappoints me the most is the unbelievable lack of story or memorable characters. I miss the random people in the streets like the guy with the rats or the one yelling out his window for booze. I like to roam around in game and this one, though stunning and full of things to do... seem empty? All the bugs aside I’ve had the most fun with this than anything else that’s come out lately... and that makes me sad because for the money we pay we should be getting something finished.

Looking forward to watching this. I have tried to like this game, i really have. But i hate it. Most of all i hate the way my character swaggers around with bow legs like shes been given a good seeing to by John Holmes. Its completely comedic and constantly breaks any sense of immersion. I still try to play last stand on The Division one, but it seems they have diverted most of the servers to this new hogs nipple of a travesty, thus rendering any pvp in TD1 like waiting for godot.

I basically had all the same problems i had in division 1 with my gear of i5 4570 with gtx970 and on ssd game. 8GB ddr3 too(now have 16gb). Texture not loading so made the character moving like snail. Then the part of dropping trough the floor. Cant see ai that is shooting me cause they have not loaded but they shoot and hit me and take life. And i have 1800 hours in the first game trough 2 years or so from first day. When it first come out it run well, but then with every new update they screw up something by wanting to fix some glitch. Then teleport in dark zone as thats what it looks to others. For me as a game problem where my picture freeze but environment isnt effected as only like my character freeze up. Cause i see others move and then i like fast run or teleport some distance in game. Now think of it like when you have texture not loading and this character freeze lag. Is it some server related issue that sending me trough some weird distance like server is in EU but goes trough China server to EU server and thats why i have problems while am in EU and have good optical 100/100 connection. And well the game is expensive and has year 1 pass and not like it was before as only one time for season pass and not like now year one, two and maybe even 3 to milk in money. Year pass will cost same as the base game. So basically for the first year you pay 100 euro cause well in EU price number dont change only the sign behind it like $ to € so if to calculate the number from euro to US then EU pay more.Year 2 pass will be probably 50 euro too from online sites if you can from them soon thanks to this article 11 and 13 pass. I wont be buying this second version cause whats the point. It's high class milking game that greats new glitches and bugs for years to come and then say that they need to start from 0 cause game cant be fixed. But will make D3 and still use everything same from first game like copy paste and call it all new some updated engine and other wonderful story for milking tactics. If it would be a free to play game i would play it, but as it's premium high priced game that will never be finished and look like it's out of beta stage.I have pretty much lost all hope in modern day gaming. All have gone so big and so complicated and then think when Skyrim was insane big map and a lot of videos and story to play and side stories and that game was like 10GB and didnt have so much complicated bugs and glitches like what we have mostly now with every new series of games from Ubisoft. Those glitches where I get stuck or falls through shit it’s just my CPU not being able to render. But there are some bad glitches in division 2. Hopefully the majority of this shit gets fixed.

Like always great video with many great points and jokes :D I just got D2 on sale, soo far 35h on record and I enjoy it. I didnt had high hopes for it, Ive spent 300h in D1 and I just wanted more of that with some different variations (armor change really is nice idea)... and my PC is too old even for minimum spec so im not even angry with some tech problems (lots od loadings of textures during game) :P

For me well I’m at WT1 on PC and WT4 on Xbox and I am loving it despite the bugs, but there are 2 major annoying as all fook bugs that are fooking me off on a daily basis. 1: On both platforms I have lost track of the number of times that I’ve got killed on a bounty mission having just engaged the boss when inexplicably - like you - I got stuck in place - on the fooking floor too!? 2: On my Xbox One X I have to power cycle the thing daily to reinstate my textures! Loot containers look like they’re made of jelly and graffiti looks like it would if I’d left my specs at the BOO. Oh and “The Division 2 is boobless” brilliant! Just brilliant! 😀

I had the final stronghold to advance into gear score territory bug out right at the end when the final door to trigger mission success wouldn't open..straight garbage.

The Castle Settlement is NOT a quest hub. It was overrun and the people there were relocated elsewhere. The bug present was preventing some from progressing after reaching the settlement and talking to Kelso. Except for the bug, it is working as intended and is supposed to be greyed out. It was tough for them to comment on that settlement without spoiling what I can only assume are future plans for the settlement in later DLC.

This was the most accurate and honest review I have seen so far and I have watched a bunch. I just wanted to add that the NPC’s get spongy after level 30 and they shoot with pin point accuracy while yielding an assault rifle in one hand with absolutely no cover! It’s by far the stupidest thing in this game in my opinion. The developers might try and look up the word recoil!

I want to know why, if your character is a member of a super top secret government agency, wouldn't said agency equip you with the best tech and weapons? Instead, you're forced to search chests and enemies for better guns. Makes no sense.

Love you as always Kiloton. I understand the gun balancing ridiculousness but you can't (or you can of course) complain about a sight giving minus accuracy that also gives crit chance. CRIT CHANCE. It could've been done differently of course and balanced better.
