Just tried it out in Heroic Strongholds. Gotta say this build works as advertised, wasn't a boss or mob that I couldn't push across the map. Great Build Patrick.
@@mikek6313 No-one plays better than me that is why I will never team up with anyone. But at the same time the game has been changed and now even red guys can one shot kill me even if I have 1.2 million armor.
OH my God, I love you man, this is the best thing ever, and I haven't upgraded to 80% and I dont even have the exotic mask yet, still is like you said immortal, I have never used armor kit yet haha, man you saved me, only issue I have sometimes I run out of ammo but works with rifles sooo good so. Man The big tanks and the Bosses all running from me 😄. YOU really done a great job. Keep it up
Why would I prefer this to running an all blue Pointman - Catharsis - Foundry with a Bulwark and a Liberty? And then rolling Armor Regen everywhere and using Repair Skill mods? The Liberty can hit for 500k+ damage and heal the shield... not that you'd need it since the Bulwark will have between 14-16m in health and the Artificer will keep it up. The build I'm describing can stroll up to heavies in Legendaries. The build you're running will die from bleeding and the shield will fold like wet paper.
Yo I put this build together today and it's INSANE. I am essentially unkillable? I facetanked an entire Heroic stronghold and my armor didn't even get cracked. Unbelievably fun, thanks for the build guide!
I loved how the Heartbreaker set was made it was really good till pvp players started complaining everytime pvp players complain the screw over pve side as well the pve side didn't need double nerf I still use the set BTW I just wished the devs stop nerfing things that don't need it
Between the PvP players bitching about it and the numerous vids on YT showing how awesome it was I'm not surprised the devs nerfed it. You can't have too much fun in this game apparently.
And it's *still* one of the best sets in the entire game and (IMO) needs to be knocked down another notch *still*. People like you have absolutely zero concept of game balance and are one of the types of people that devs should ignore.
Variation of a build I use, but your vid inspired me to experiment with an idea this morning. I subbed in the Chill Out and Memento (prof Lvl 8) and paired with Backdraft (prof Lvl 8). Initial testing at Heroic was very interesting.

Bulwark is my choice of gearset. Im still experimenting the build and getting some surprising results. I use 2 blues and the rest are reds. I run it with the mop shotgun, talent future perfect reaching tier 5 shield armor in battle.. I'm still perfecting the build 👍 Awesome content Agent 😎
Love this build so far. Just put it together, stilllearning to trust its defenses. Works great and as advertised! Added it to my library. Perfect build for the catharsis! Must try!!
Nice build, but in PS 5 its bugged. The Makeshift repairs talent does not activate, only from time to time, usually when you are almost dead and you need to get in to cover, I heard that on X box and PC is the same problem with this gear set. If not for the shield I will not survive until the talent activates.
Hi Patrick, great video! I'm currently running your build and loving it ,or kind of it, i can't find the catharsis for the life of me! Farming for a week and no luck (challenging and heroic). maybe one day it will drop!
Today I tried this build, exactly this one, with better stats. I'm too stupid for this. 1. try: Roosevelt. The NPCs hide, they won't come out. Drone, Drone, grenade, grenade... Killed a few, medics revive during drone attacks. Hopeless. 2.try : District Union Arena : Went in, killed a few, grenade, grenade, grenade. Got killed. Next try: other positioning, grenade grenade grenade grenade grenade, next try... Another different positioning: 1 grenade from half of the map, a second just disintegrated my shield into a thousand parts. That's it for me🤷♂️🤣
Very nice vid and build! You might want to to try the "Kard" pistol with this build too! It gives you an extra skill tier, and you can roll the backpack on something else, red if you want damage or blue to be tankier. I would suggest red since you already get to tier 6 of the shield with 5 blues and the pistol and you don't need anymore of them, but that's just my preference
A friendly reminder that the Kard with the +1 Skill Tier only provides it's +1 while it is in your hand. It does not provide the +1 while in the holster.
Want an alternative build that doesn't require using technician specialization? Run what I run. Which is a headshot pistol build with this gear set up. I run the punch drunk mask for the pistol dmg, headshot dmg, foundry bulwark chest piece for the passive heals, foundry holster, foundry kneepads, and last piece foundry gloves. All armor cores with headshots dmg roles. Last gear piece is the momento backpack for armor regen,armor, weapon dmg and gives a skill tier so you can have tier 5 shield. Bulwark shield should have about 9mil health. Then for the sidearm I run the liberty. Passive gives you weapon dmg for bodyshots stops at 30 stacks. Headshots heal your shield for 3% a stack. Put that all together and I have a build where I can take an insane amount of dmg that gets healed immediately from foundry passive, and can still dish out dmg with around 300-600k a bodyshot depending on momento stacks and liberty stacks, and around 1.2-1.4mil a headshot. Without stacks it's works just fine and with full stacks it works even better. Most tanky and fun build I've made. I've sat there and let a heavy shoot at me for 20 secs(on heroic) just for me to heal cause of gear set passive, and then when that runs out I just headshot them to heal my shield to full health.
Yes I have posted something similar in the past the big shield pistol is still one of the best builds in pve definitely. When I am playing on many directives I use a build similar to what you are saying works great.
The Chameleon and Catharsis are pretty necessary for the build unless you change out a bunch of attributes and a couple other pieces. I tried running this setup with Coyote and a couple different weapons and the DPS was just really poor. Once I can get a Catharsis I'll try to use the exact setup in this vid.

Hey Patrick, first I just wanted to say I love how thorough you are with your vids! Love em! Second, wanted to ask you if THIS build still works!? Have you noticed any nerfs to it? I made it for myself the exact same way and it worked perfect for a few days and now it’s not…. Tried taking off a piece and putting it back on to no avail… I was previously able to stand right in front of npc’s on Legendary with little resistance and now I get blasted on heroic… the artificer hive isn’t healing my shield as fast even when I’m at full armor!! Please help! I was so excited to finally be able to do a legendary and now I’m so frustrated I don’t even want to play
I just managed to scrape my sharpshooter build with mantis. But I might try out this build next. If it makes me near-invincible, it'll be a build to watch out for.
I have a question and maybe I’m missing something but how do you have the linked laser pointer open when it requires the this is my rifle tier 3 to be unlocked? My son had this the same way as you and I asked him how in the world did you do that? and then we looked at your video and you have that as well. And then he undid it to try to redo it and now he can’t have that without having this is my rifle tier 3 unlocked.
@@jgelchaarify how’s that? Alps “repair SKILLS” R&K “Incoming Repairs” witth Catharsis mask (armor regen & incoming repairs) it’s a tank build not a healer. He’s using a shield & the artificer hive there’s no repair skills or healing on his build besides the chem the mask drops.
@@gurneymcbuzzin yes minus the alps bag & the talents. The heals from the incoming repairs & the armor regen but there’s no healing skill on the build the mask drops a quick chem that’s it
Mr. Wolf Some guy named PurePrime posted this build and and claimed it's his build/didn't give you credit. It's not 100% exact but really similar. On another note, 2 friends I played with used this build and it was really tough. Can last quite a while in legendary.

How do you solo legendary missions with this? My shield dies within 5 seconds even when not standing in front of a huge group of enemies and I've put together the same build with about the same stats (even have more max armor)
Just tried this build out and loving it! Been looking for an unkillable tank build and was running Foundry with Tardigrade but this is soooo much better for having a shield that never breaks. Been testing out Sweet Dreams with this as well since you can easily push enemies with the build - any thoughts on this vs Chameleon? Hard to tell how vast the DPS difference is tbh. One shotting purples with Sweet Dreams is pretty nice. Secondary is Cold Relations for the stacking crit damage to replace the stacking effect on Chameleon, but I use this with Chameleon anyway so this is probably a non-factor.
Because you have the technician activated you could swap that skill tier on your backpack for a weapon damage or armor core. It would give you a slight improvement Over what you currently have.

These are all the base armor values for each piece. These values will be consistent across all high-end, named, gear set, and exotic pieces. you can find these value beneath the name and rarity of each piece in your inventory. Mask:80k Bag:131k Gloves:80k Knees:99k Chest:158k Holster:112k Since the max expertise level is 20, that would mean that you could get 20% additional armor on every piece. This sounds like a huge buff but unlike the weapon damage you get from leveling up weapons, the additional armor is anything but a huge buff seeing as the % increase only affects the base armor for each piece, NOT the blue core attribute of armor (assuming you have a blue core attribute on a piece). To find these new values that would represent the total armor you would have on a level 20 piece, we multiply the base armor by 1.2, with the 1's purpose being to keep the new value above the original. The 0.2 represents the 20% increase, since 0.2 is 20% of 1, this can also be represented by the fraction 1/5. The additional armor you would get from maxing out all 6 pieces would look like this. Mask: 80,000 x 1.2 = 96,000 Bag: 131,000 x 1.2 = 157,200 Gloves: 80,000 x 1.2 = 96,000 Knees: 99,000 x 1.2 = 118,800 Holster: 112,000 x 1.2 = 134,400 Chest: 158,000 x 1.2 = 189,600 Taking the difference of the level 20 armor value with the armor value of the unupgraded piece gives us the individual amount of armor you would gain from maxing out the piece for each piece of gear. Adding these new 6 values will give us the total armor we would gain across all 6 pieces of level 20 gear. Mask: 96,000 - 80,000 = 16,000 Bag: 157,200 - 131,000 = 26,200 Gloves: 96,000 - 80,000 = 16,000 Knees: 118,800 - 99,000 = 19,800 Holster: 134,400 - 112,000 = 22,400 Chest: 189,600 - 158,000 = 31,600 16,000 + 16,000 + 26200 + 19800 + 22400 + 31600 Total armor gained from maxing out all 6 pieces: 132,000 Hopefully this answers your question.
I don’t understand I have just about the same stats, you only have more damage on the rifle and this doesn’t work for me. As soon as I put the shield away I’m disintegrated in seconds.
is the 54+% crit chance needed if chameleon procs 20% from headshots? would it be better to go no more than 40% then the proc will cap to 60% or does chameleon go over that?
I would not make it that you rely on the chameleon for crit chance as stacking headshots not easy but yes you can have 40 crit chance then stack chameleon but make sure you stack it and don’t forget. The cap is 60 crit chance.
I have this build I’ve used it on Legendary as long as I keep my shield facing them I can stand there all day. I use it on DH I tank pressing buttons to lift the plane second boss then lead boomer underneath the plane as long as he can’t get behind my shield I have never died it’s great I sometimes need cover to guild my shield back up that only takes a couple of seconds
What mods are on the shield and hive? I play with a group of beginner level players who only play pve but want to up the levels we are on. Your builds are awesome and we are all trying to farm the gear in them, but in this video you didn't say what those mods were. Does it matter what they are? Loving your presentation style, but you do sound a tad drunk when I play the vids back at .25 speed!!! Thanks for the great content.
Hey Patrick I have a question, is it possible too make a build for all directives on ? I use it all the time but can only use a sniper build . I tried other builds but is very difficult especially a skill build . Thank you 🙏
The easiest and fastest way to do 5 directives solo is a Regulus headhunter build. Punch Drunk, Chainkiller, Dodge City holster, W&H kneepads, Contractor's gloves, providence backpack with Vigilance. Everything weapon handling + headshot damage. Regulus. Bulwark shield + scanner/revive hive/whatever you want. If you don't own Regulus you can use D50 in the meantime but I highly encourage you to get invested in the raiding community (join a clan or join the official discord and look for a group there). The raids are bar none the best content the game has to offer. Also don't go to this wolf guy for build advice. They are meme-tier builds. Talk to players in-game, join a clan or the public discord.
I have the 15 percent build on everything from my vest all the way down to my holster which makes the weapon damage hit harder. This Is a nice build but it's to much time killing enemies.
Question Patrick - Since you are using the Technician class, could you use Kingbreaker with the linked laser pointer with this build? If so, you could throw Scorpio on as secondary.
I was actually struggling to get the Cameleon buffs up on legendary so I tried Kingbreaker (laser pointer) with Scorpio (just) in case and it seemed easier, I was able to solo more than half of legendary Rosevelt Island. I used Ceska instead of Alps

I have all the parts to give this build a try, except I've got an Alps Summit backpack with Safeguard so that gives Incoming repairs rather than Repair Skills I'm struggling to work out the difference?
Great build! I would be very interested to know what mods you have in your hive and in your shield. PS: I think there is a small mistake in the technician specialization. You have to activate MP instead of LMG, right?

If your using status effects you won't be doing dps I would recommend a 4 piece eclipse with imperial dynasty and and skill gloves with status effects rolled on them
I love this game but the learning curve is a bit hard after you get the watch. Wish i could understand it like you me i just get confused 😕 fucking hell
I think overall bulwark is the way. I love playing striker makes it feel abit kore really. Stupid damage but you also take stupid damage the bulwark only downside is the damage which seems to have been resolved. Nice one

hmmm what about skill jammers, in like summit on leggy tier? maybe my memento with picaro's holster build is better because it relies much less on tech?
