COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) -The Dixie Chicken, an iconic fixture in Aggieland, is celebrating a milestone this weekend: 50 years of serving up tradition, memories, and a sense of community. The beloved bar and restaurant, nestled in the heart of the Northgate district, has been a second home to generations of Texas A&M University students, their families, and locals since it first opened its doors in 1974.
Jennifer Ganter and her sister, Katy Jackson, co-owners of The Dixie Chicken, took over the establishment from their father, the late Don Ganter.
