Great breakdowns and explanations in this video! It's amazing what these drones are becoming capable of doing. The RTK-precision is an insane feature which will definitely find and open new possibilities of usage. What do you think the timeline is for drones like the mini 2 and that price range to drop?
Great video, many thanks. Lots of very nice features, but I was not impressed with the image quality, fuzzy and heavily compressed and looked more like 1080p not 4K.
And I'm glad.. Some asshole has been flying around the neighborhood checking in on people's backyards here. This drone would allow an individual to have a free peep show from a mile away and no one would even know. I think it's great tech for the right people.
You could build/buy an uav with like 30 km range, better thermals and a camera with 3 hour flight time for 15k. DJI has become Apple of the drone industry.
@@Bizarado so since it’s something the military does or would potentially use, it’s Military grade? So if the military uses a bic pen, is that military grade? Reality is that DJI as a company isn’t military grade because the DOD hasn’t approved them for military use and likely won’t anytime soon. Lol.
Seeing the cameras used on this thing really makes me curious to see what sort of improvements we will see down the line on DJI’s consumer line of aircraft.
face recognition. weapons detection based on mapping clothing, longer flight times, voice-out to talk to people on the ground, police radio integration
@Ops Blac I am a sportsman when I'm not concerned with the general security of my property and I can imagine many personal uses for this. As it is I use a thermal device at night and it would be great to fly some thermal around. Anyone on the border will be interested but like you said.. best use is for artillery spotting DJI should just call if that. Lol
@@fairyphotography Yeah, the geofencing can be rough, but public safety can bypass the geofencing by DJI by signing up for their Qualified Entity Program.
@@AerialInfluence I'd like that camera on a diy drone with a flight controller from China that doesn't have any restrictions and doesn't keep logs online.
One of the best M30 videos I've seen. I almost skipped it because I thought it was done to death already...glad I didn't!! Love the zoom in on the Valley Fiber box...I have that :)
Fully informative video with all that I need to know. If his experience is different from the literature, he tells you. Also liked that he broke up the video into chapters, handy if you are really shopping. Super Drone, but to pricey for an amateur like me.
Thanks for the well thought out comment. There are hundreds of videos out there on the Mini 3, which seems to be more your speed. We’ll continue focusing on providing the M30T to life saving organizations.
@@AerialInfluence - Why would you have the audacity to chime in on a comment regarding the pricing, when you don't address that either in the video or the description? 🤪🤪🤪🤪
@@AerialInfluence - I don't mind watching. I'm just chiding you, but also pointing out food for thought. This drone could be $30,000 for all we know....I bet YOU don't even know.....
The fusion of AI, sensors, RF tech and software is unmatched. What used to be the protected domain of military manufacturers was torn wide open by DJI. The DJI website provides even more information about this drone at the forefront of bleeding edge that is not discussed in this video. I would not be surprised if US govt procures many of these drones and it's software suite to study.
A note on IP ratings - IPx4 means it will handle splashed water from all directions, (ie. light rain) with only a little getting inside. IPx5 is the same deal but with low pressure water jets (ie. a garden hose) The upside is that this would handle most rain better than the handler would, but be sure to give it some post-flight care.
The thing is that you see photos and video on RU-vid channels on the FB drone groups, and they all look like they're from the same drone, no matter the model. The M2P was the height of quality video/stills and all these other upgrades don't change that noticeably at all. Higher resolution gives you files that can't be managed unless you build a super powerful Mac system that costs thousands of dollars, then you have to downgrade them until they look like every other model drone, so that RU-vid can even show them. I got M2P and the Zoom, i just put the Hasselblad lens on it and get high res images and video, if I want zoom ability I just swap the camera. I see no need between the Mini2 drone and the M2P /Zoom to keep spending thousands more with even more expensive batteries. Invest in Lightroom and Photoshop and thats all you really need.
That’s your choice. For search and rescue and other professions, they need the zoom and high resolution. Glad your solution works for you and thanks for watching!
I would like to see some sort of liferaft attachment to a drone,If your on rescue mission or a malfunction in fog etc over water you need the drone to survive if it takes to water,The drone is so expensive to loose but if it floats it could leave a signal to recover it.
Wow! When I started flying drones, the original dji phantom didn't even have an auto centering throttle control, then they finally added that, and later a little camera without a gimbal or even sound. I think I took a break from dji stuff for a while after the inspire1 was released, and now they're just on a completely different level! I'd love to have a drone like this one but I don't even want to know how much this one costs with that technology.
@@David-yi3dr there's a Parrot drone (ANAFI USA) that has a comparable feature set including 34x zoom and a 2nd gen thermal imager, but goes for $6200-7000. Software a but worse than DJI, but totally workable, a lot of agencies and security operators use them. Might be closer to your budget.
Great video. I like your bulleted approach- quick fast no fluff wasting my time. Awesome. I Need to know the megapixel size and is this wild animal caged with DJI’s infamous geofence? I fly a mavic 2 pro because the stuff I do requires minimum 20 megapixel camera. I had to trade up from my 12 meg mavic. I love that rtk and thermal is all in the same package. 2 capabilities I want to get into and learn.
I don’t know anything about drones but I watched. Was very impressed with your presentation and format. Right to the point and most informative and well laid out. Enjoyed it. Cheers 👍
@@andrewferguson6901 Might need many cups of coffee to keep me up for one month (Then again, operator could mean the person that initially launched the drone).
Only in artillery and military advances, but think an m777 can fire almost 25 miles. The drone and get there back. It requires soft team forward scouts
One of the key components in airline safety records is that one pilot flies the airplane and that is his only task. The other pilot handles everything else such as running checklists, communicating with ATC, the flight attendants, the passengers, and the company. I know nothing about drones but this dual controller setup seems like it will take the usefulness to the next level. And of course the safety of the drone.
Cool. But DJI (or your government) can stop you from using it whenever they want, or (far more likely) accidentally. This thing asks someone else for permission every time you fly, or don't. The substantial price for this system has to be considered 100% disposable, like an expensive ice cream cone. If you need to rely on a system like this, you're better off building your own custom system using ArduPilot, or a far more capable system using a laptop running FlytOS or Maverick. You can contract that out if you're not technical.
I know there are people tripping out at the price, but holy hell, this has so much built into it that it would legit be worth 2x or 3x. Police choppers with big ol FLIR/IRST/720p color setups from 15~20 years also (that are still in near daily use) are six figure implements and this thing has~90% of the overall capability at pennies on the dollar. And honestly, in a better package, more deployable, cheaper to operate per hour, no expensive training and certification, etc. Basically that other 10% is optics. Sure this doesn't have quite the pure optical zoom capability as large systems, but with the package size, I'd argue it's not even needed. I am simply blown away by this.
This drone is region limited. It is only available in certain countries and can only be flown inside those countries. Most first world G7/20 countries are not on the list of countries this is available in. It costs $14,700USD for the plus combo or $13,999USD for the basic package. DJI are offering finance for $512/m
Hey nice video. I do have a question. I bought this drone yesterday. I've been been putting it though it's paces. It's amazing. The thing I can't work out is, after dropping pins, how do you delete the pins? Cheers.
The surveying company my son works for just purchased this drone and today he had the pleasure of inspecting some utility poles. He said it is fabulous. Will send your link to him. Peace be with you
You mean DJI finally made a drone that works, or does this need to update itself, fail, reupdate, crash, fail, not be covered under warranty, fail again, and reupdate every 12 hours for the next 6 months until the new latest, greatest one gets released, making you look like a complete boob for ever buying this?
Ukraine is short about 200 thousand their best NATO trained guys. They don't need such a toys anymore as there will be no army at all soon. By the end of winter it will be over.
I want one. The first drone I bought left me disappointed. With a 14 inch adding spam, I'd was too big to fly inside but could not resist any wind... not even a light gust of 1 or 2 mile power hour. The second time I flew it, the light wind carried it into a neighbor's yard a Block away and crashed into a tree. I'm glad the neighbor understood and retrieved it for me.
I am FLOORED a the features in this drone. As a photographer a lot of it would be overfill for me. But, I'd still love to have it just because. I'm just so impressed with this recent tech!!!
That drone has some sweet features. I would love to test one out in Kentucky to see how it does with the constant changing terrain. I would hope that battery is true 30 min run time or better most drones don't keep much of a charge around the Kentucky mountains and changing terrain unless you keep them at a decent altitude
You’re right that it’s not a hobby drone. It’s not a weapon any more than a car is a weapon. It’s all about who’s operating it. These drones save lives.
This is the best info video for this drone, gg. I would definitely buy this but in my country isn't much demand for services that this drone can provide. And for personal use doesn't make sense to own one.
This is an incredible tool. No wonder Ukraine is able to determine exact locations to hit. With it recording all sensors when you are using it, it will become a must have for search and rescue. Thanks for the great video. You did a great job explaining what it can do.
Thumbs up for calling it The Sears Tower. Just like the baseball stadium in Milwaukee will always be called Miller Park, that skyscraper will always be called The Sears Tower.
