Jimmy... I remember Obama in 2008 telling his voters that if they wanted him to "do" something... "MAKE HIM", meaning that they should get in the street and insist he do something.... which we did but he never did anything for us. That's why I didn't vote for Obama in 2012 (voted Jill Stein) while you voted for Obama again in 2012! So ... there's that.

Never heard of Dore before Chris talked to him. Checked out his stand up and didn't care for it. Don't wanna cancel or silence him but mu critique of him is as a RN. I understand his suspicion of covid as it was handled but I worked really hard to validate questions from my patients and trying to educate. It's a nuanced criticism but I think it's valid Conversations like this are great though and while I don't personally find him funny, I encourage you to belly laugh if you do

Sometimes he is a bit off but most times he is right. He was edging towards Trump /RFK but I guess now he knows that it will be much of the same. He also interviewed Hedges a couple of times. That how* I heard about Hedges. Take him with a pinch of salt.

JD is the man but I'm so sick of the demonization and bastardization of the term identity politics. There's nothing wrong with fighting and voting according to your own interests, which is all it actually was when the term was coined. It's simply factoring in where identity and politics intersect. Class, (dis)ability, race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. These are all things that inform and are informed by politics. It's voting for someone based on the issues because of who _you_ are and what that has led you to understand about your priorities. It has nothing to do with division or voting for someone because of _their_ identity.
When was that the definition of "identity politics"? Was that in the 1800s?? That's certainly not the definition being used today. Today it's about red team vs. blue team, period.

It's stupid that people don't call it out rather than doubling down. Especially when it's being weaponized against the masses. I agree. I like Chris Hedges but I don’t care for Dore. He’s nasty with people he disagrees with on his show - yelled at Cornel West and wouldn’t let him talk as one example. I’m not sure I trust his motives.
I feel disappointed in Chris for associating himself with Jim-Jim. I agree that Chris is head and shoulders and chest and abdomen and waist above the other guy in moral and intellectual stature.
Jimmy was the guy who got people paying attention to the grifting good-for-nothing politicians known as The Squad with Force The Vote (he was actually trying to get them to use their leverage and do something good with it, but exposing them to everyone with open eyes and a brain was a consolation prize). That was Jimmy who did that, not an "intellectual".

Open conventions are chaos from what I’ve heard. Besides, dems needed unity and Kamala brought us together. The enthusiasm is real amongst women and non-white voters. We just need to keep pushing her to change policy on Israeli support, making it conditional.
