Training is top quality? Really? The poor dog has had his testicles removed! How hard it is to train a castrato? This is no reward for someone you depend on! It's better to have a quality Navy Seal who can think, than a Marine who just follows orders like a marionette! You and the others have been fooled by a pretty face!

@FrostyKatKit People can rationalize anything. The truth is, most people don't have the time or energy to train a working dog properly. Unlike females, who get a simple procedure - males are castrated. Sometimes this procedure leads to infection and death. I want my Doberman to have an edge - that comes with testosterone. Does this require more effort with the dog? Yes. If you don't have the time or finances to own a Doberman - don't own one! You don't just take his testicles out of convenience for yourself - and then make up excuses for mutilation. And then, good breeding is essential and everything with Dobermans. I never understood this until I bought a well bred dog. You have to experience this to fully grasp it.

My aunt adopted a Dobermann lady when I was 7 years old. I loved her to death, she was the sweetest girl and i could easily go with her alone for a walk. She once protected me even from weird men even she wasnt trained or anything, she just felt who was a bad person. She used to sleep in my bed and now Im 31 and to this day I miss her so much.

My mom's doberman, I'd get up to cook a pork chop and somehow he'd know it, probably because I'm likely cooking something he wants, going into the fridge. But he'd sit around for a while sitting still and staring, whether I was in the other room or over the stove. What I wasn't ready for was him nudging me when the pork was sizzling and I couldn't quite hear it yet--almost as if to say, hey you, OUR eventual meal is sure to be ready soon!

My uncle had two european dobbies with some serious pedigree under their paws and both of them had protection training....I was like 10 years old and so afraid of their alien presence that i have never been close to them...But dobbies are super smart and knew i was "family"....Anyway once i was left alone and my uncle ,because he knew i was afraid, locked the dogs...Some time later two wise guys saw a ten year old kid in a fancy house and they thought it was a good idea to enter...Ohhh i almost peed my pants but i realised my best chance was those two dobbies....I went to their fence opened the lock and at that exact moment i was sure they would kill me the moment i released them....They just runned down the yard like muscle cars drifting charging those guys....What followed is something i will never forget in my life,it was so brutal and ferocious.Those dogs were like.."you made the kid scared bro we will rip you apart"..After some serious bitting they formed a circle around me forming the typical seperation..They were trained to do so but its also the velcro instict of them....They became my hero dogs,they were never locked again because we became best friends ...Miss them forever Rocky and Hera.

When I was in middle school my dad and I rescued a doberman and we named him Raider. He was the best family dog ever. He was super sweet, loyal, gentle, playful and protective. But even though he was protective he wasn’t mean or aggressive. One day I wanted to walk to my friends house and decided to randomly last second to take Raider with me when that usually didn’t happen. Im a woman and When I was in middle school I was 5’3 and probably like 115lbs. We’re passing this house and a huge pit mix of some kind came sprinting at me, teeth barred and was coming straight for me. Just as it was about to jump to attack my throat or face my boy Raider tackled the dog by the throat and pinned him down until the dog submitted and only then did Raider let him go. It was terrifying and I was really scared Raider was going to get hurt but he really held his own in the fight. I was so thankful I had him with me that day. Had I not had him with me I could have been mauled or maybe even killed. I was completely defenseless against a dog like that. Once the dog ran off Raider went back to his sweet self and was sniffing me everywhere and licking my hands and face. I think it was his way of checking if I was ok. We went straight home and I told my dad what happened in tears. My dad was so happy Raider protected his only daughter that he grilled up a big juicy steak for him as a reward. After that Raider and I had an even tighter bond. I always felt safe when I’d take him on walks after that and he took his job as protector very seriously but like I said not aggressive. He wasn’t trained either. He just naturally fell into the role and knew what he needed to do. He was so smart. I miss him so much. He unfortunately got pretty bad bone cancer and had to be put to sleep 😢 I would love to have another doberman someday. They’re incredible dogs.

Yo Jess, I live in a Countryside Freshwater fishing community but I'm looking for a Protective Companion Dog (that would be happy living in semi cramped living space: fishing cabin &the normal lakefront property type fenced yard that goes with it, I do some produce farming& I go for rides on my 3 wheel Bicycle when weather permits)& was wondering if you would recommend a Doberman Pincher as the type of Dog for the Job?
@Jess-vk6mp
@Jess-vk6mp 9 месяцев назад
@@jameswalton6551 yes but they can be destructive when they don’t have enough mental stimulation or exercise. As much as Raider was an amazing dog my dad didn’t take that into consideration when we adopted him and our house/back yard wasn’t all that big and he ended up almost chewing off an entire leg of our kitchen table. If you take the dog out a lot and give it plenty to do it should be good. I would not get one though if you don’t plan on taking it out for plenty of exercise or whatever with your home being so small.
@jameswalton6551

Thanks for your reply& the reason I put the part of Me taking care of our personal use produce farm is because the Dog would get to be outside with Me during that time & also I do Fish when weather conditions are right+ the thing about Me going for bike ride on my 3 wheel Bicycle in the neighborhood weather permitting is because I did have a Rat Terrier Giant that had high energy levels Wich turned out that with his leash attached to the bicycle & him having a harness (He sorta behave like a sled Dog) would make him going along on the bicycle ride a great way to run off a ton of his energy thus I would use the same method with the new Dog.

In really early stages of training you would see a much greater amount of activity from the helper to develop the dogs desire and stimulate drive.

Some of my family members used to have a doberman - I don't think he had professional training, just the basic one, but when the guests came to their house he wouldn't let them move from the couch when the owners weren't in the room 😂 he wasn't aggressive, just very attentive and blocking the way. But on the other hand when my cousin was few years old he could do basically everything with this dog: one day he even bit his ear and the dog just licked him - it was so loving and protective to the children.

When I was a young Engineer in the early 80's I owned a very expensive Doberman (World Champion Warlock blood line out of Cuba/Miami). He had been highly trained and was about 18 months old but the owner had to get rid of him so he basically gave him to me (he charged me $600 and the dog was easily worth ten times that) after vetting me. I just used him as my pet and buddy but I was a triathlete at the time so he got plenty of exercise along the way. He was the greatest dog I ever owned. When I used to wash him it always drew a crowd; I would tell him Attention and he would lock up and I would hose him down like a car and he wouldn't move a muscle. He got in a running fight with a gator in my backyard and gave as good as he got and once ate 2 lbs. of chocolate Christmas kisses (in the foil) and never missed a beat (I did find red, green and silver aluminum in the back yard for days). He was also quite the character; every morning he would wake me up by putting his nose like one inch from mine and then slightly bumping me and then move back while snapping his jaws...SNAP SNAP SNAP. Once (during a Super Bowl party) I was laying on the floor watching the game and he was at my feet doing his Snapping thing while chomping on a tennis ball and my big toe got in the middle and Whack, his teeth went right thru it, nail and all, like a knife through warm butter...I was bleeding like a slit pig, lol...he hadn't even noticed he chomped my toe. The first night I got him, after walking him and having some introduction time, I put him in the house and a buddy and me went to the greyhound races. Later that night when we returned Brentley (I named him after a grade school buddy) was lighting us up through the door windows when we tried to get in...I finally just walked in and he was in full protect mode but I just stayed calm and he eventually came over and understood we were his friends. BUT, he had taken every seat cushion off my living room furniture and chewed the insides out...my living room looked like it had snowed. I fully understood what had happened so I didn't discipline him, just rolled with it...as I said above he turned out to be the greatest dog I ever owned. One other funny story, there was a loud mouth teen boy that lived just around my corner that I did not even know but for some reason he didn't like me (I think he had a thing for my wife, but all these years later still not sure what his problem was), I used to run a lot and when I'd run by his house, sometimes with my dog, he always had some smartass comment, I really did not care but I did note he held animosity for me for some reason...anyway one night I had Brentley off leash and we were standing in front of my house and this kid comes walking over to say something to me and though I was also a very fit U.S. Marine vet and could have handled him myself I finally decided I had enough and would have some fun, so when he approached me and Brentley I asked him to stand back and he made some smart ass comment so I gave Brentley the Watch him command. Brently immediately went in to full protect mode and started aggressively growling and circling the kid...the idiot almost peed his pants and after I said so what no smart ass comment this time? He just turned and walked away...never saw the kid again.

I had two Dobermans and they were such smart, wonderful dogs. I could take my Doberman anywhere with me and it loved everyone. BUT a big BUT, I had a friend with a Doberman that didn't act anything like mine. His dog was very aggressive and couldn't be trusted. His dog was never socialized with people and other animals and it was treated like a "dog." Basically, get outside and stay there. So if you get a dog like a Doberman it's important to socialize them with a lot of people and other animals at an early age.

when it comes to dobermen dogs it don't matter if you socialize them or not. if you are late with the payment of their salary ie food they are going to let you know about it master or no master. if you usually feed them at midday they automatically know when its midday without a watch. they know you are the master but hey where is my payment after all that guarding.

LOST KIDS GET MONEY it’s okay to be scared especially dealing with a new baby and such an intimating dog. I would say to get a puppy Doberman so they can learn to bond. And always keep an eye no matter what. Even tho my Doberman is a sweety to our son it doesn’t mean all are you know what I mean? But I say that with any breed of dog. Always have be vigilant when they are together. Plus if they both grow up together they’ll know the baby is family. I’d also suggest getting a male Doberman they are more family dog as in the female is more for just one individual. (I’ve had both) males tend to be more loving and playful. And also keep in mind if your still scared you can always have someone help with the training!

I have a 1 year old fearless male Doberman. Absolutely the best watch dog I’ve ever owned. He’s super alert and loyal. He can hear better than any breed I’ve owned. He hears a rabbit on the front lawn from inside the house. I’ve owned German Shepherds, Heeler, Pit Bull and a few mutts. And although they were great watch dogs, my Doberman is on another level. What amazes me is how goofy and sweet he is but how psycho he gets when he is ready to guard and protect. He turns into a beast. Is anyone else’s Dobie like this?

We’re first time dobie owners and am amazed how naturally confident and fierce he is at only 8 months. I had no clue how physically strong this breed is until I we got him at eight weeks. His jaws are also powerful and hurt even at 8 weeks with his sharp puppy teeth. But even now he doesn’t have permission to mouth any of us because his jaws are just that strong. He will accidentally hurt one of us. He is in training and super smart. We are very impressed. He is certainly a big whiny needy goofy boy (I know he’s still a puppy). But this is a very needy dog breed that requires a lot of exercise, time and attention. He is a natural protector and can read energy very well. He literally goes from zero to 100 in one second and would intimidate the breaks off of anyone. Well that’s exactly why we bought him. We wanted a family and loyal breed but one who keeps the shady folks away. Debating still whether to eventually get him guard dog trained. So far extremely happy with our decision.

@@LuvLifeLuvGod, I LOVE Doberman Pinschers!😍 I did not realize, that the dog's jaws would be so powerful, at only (8) weeks!🤔 Dobes, do have those razor-sharp teeth, that can tear up flesh, and they have a deep broad chest! Tracy Davis yes I didn’t realize either. I’ve owned German Shepherds, pit bulls and mix breeds and had them mouth me for years. I thought my pit pull puppies’ mouth hurt till I got my dobie. His razor sharp puppy teeth and strong jaws made playing with him too uncomfortable even at eight weeks. His teeth aren’t as sharp but his play bite hurts too much and he doesn’t want to hurt us. He just can’t help that his jaws are so strong. Plus he has too much power and adrenaline when he plays like that. So we don’t play with him like that or encourage it. His tail is docked and ears are cropped (wouldn’t have it any other way). He’s gorgeous.😍

My neighbors took in my Parents' Doberman who they couldn't properly care for, and I still see him all the time, he's the best dog ever, loving and gentle unless he's leaning into me and wanting to cuddle, when his weight comes into play. I love him and I'll never not love the breed. The "he's never had to work for you before" bit is pure Pavlov, the trainer provided a reaction that would help train the dog, and that's why proper training is priceless.

😇😎I purchased my first Doberman pinscher in 1975 after I was burglarized twice. I named him Ramsess after the Egyptian pharaoh. King Tutankhamen’s treasures were touring American Museums at that time. Ramsess was my heart. He was my best friend. We were inseparable. When he left this earth he took a part of me with him. To this day I still think of him and I still talk to him. Since then I have had three other Doberman pinschers. Nina and Max were rescues. 😇🥰 The love and loyalty of a Doberman is like no other. Now my son has a brown and tan Doberman named Francesca. She is a real 👑princess just like Nina was. Francesca is the only Doberman that we have had that is not Cropped. It took me a while to get used to those floppy ears because all of my other Doberman’s had those magnificent pointed ears like Mr. Spock. Sometimes when she’s sitting up on the bed looking down on me her ears are extended out. Francescas floppy ears remind me of the coronet (Nuns headdress) worn by Sister Bertrille on the TV show The Flying Nun. All of my Doberman’s had a little friend. We had a tiny French poodle named Timmy and now we have a little long-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix named Little Max. Dobermans are very good with babies and little dogs. A Doberman pincher is this woman’s best friend. I would trust my life with a Doberman pincher and a Navy SEAL. Of which I have been friends with both. 🐶 😎⚓️💖

I'm a veterinarian assistant with an uncrobbed dobie, and I can tell you that what he says about cropping has a lot of truth behind it. Their ears, and several other dogs with similar ears, have a problem with getting hematoma's. My doberman has never had a problem and likely never will but if she was doing 0 -100% sprints several times a day and doing really intensive drills the odds of her getting an ear hematoma are pretty high. Also with an ear hematoma the serum seperates from the blood, which makes it clott, and it literally feels like a golf ball sized rock attached to the end of the dogs ear. TLDR; I'm not a fan of cropping and don't do it myself, but it is actually useful in applications like this.

I've only owned dobermans and pit bulls. absolutely love the breeds. my doby, elvis, was such a lovable dog who was good with kids, adults, and great with other animals. and without training he protected our family from a runaway criminal who jumped in our yard. hes done such incredible things that protected our family and forever will be in our hearts

Their bodies are the most beautiful and athletic of all dogs, strong and elegant at the same time. Almost like horses, with their long straight legs. With other dogs, I pay attention to their eyes and fur, but when I meet a Doberman, I always admire the proportions of his body and watch his gracious movements.

They tap the dog with the stick to stimulate what could happen in an attack. Most dogs naturally run when struck, they have to do every possible scenario

Yea. It's like being hit with paper. But it's more to train them to ignore that distraction. When your in a fight and the adrenaline is running a hard blow will feel like a fly swatter. It's mostly to train them to ignore distractions.

tbh when a dog is so pretty. What I noticed is my dog always loves it when I do the things I like and relax, like when I game CoD or listen to some of my favourite bands like Delta Parole it feel like my dog is rocking out to the music together with me. Being a dog owner is one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life, if you can give your dog the time he or she needs you will learn something new about your dog every day.
