Yeah, he didn't fail at all. His job was as a bat boy/clubhouse attendant, not a MLB prospect. Where would've he been taught to hit??? ... which is likely why he never stood a realistic shot to be even considered for a prospect.
I think a short is good enough. I mean it's awesome and glad he got that ring and all that, but why? A movie needs conflict. Hollywood would shoehorn some family drama, racial political BS, or create some life story about how he promise his grand mommy he would play for the Dodgers and she sees him in the game and cheers him on before passing on into the great beyond with the Virgin Mary herself embracing her tightly to her bosom. It was an intrasquad game... Again not hating and a cool story but let us not get ahead of ourselves - It would've been awesome if he got to go further honestly.
@@dianapennepacker6854 you think there was no conflict in this road to making this team? What about not being good enough to make the team as a kid. Not making the team in college. Not making the team in minor leagues or major leagues and deciding to sacrifice his dream to become a ball boy and patiently waiting for 15 YEARS just to get a chance to tryout and he STILL didn’t make the cut. Tell me that there’s no conflict in that story.
This is really nice of the dodgers for doing this for him and letting him play for the day or recruit him it would be good if they actually let him play on the team and I hope that Chico never stops and that he always keeps on going and achieves his goals and his dream I am happy for him and I hope the dodgers do let him play one day on there team
Seriously. As a boy who's loved baseball for my entire life, this is incredible. I couldn't imagine how Chico felt. You know he loves the game as much as we all, do. I know at least as much as I do and I LOVVEEEEE baseball 🙏❤️
That's so freakin cool 😎! It's quite moving as well and the fact that the Dodger's leadership would allow that then be blown away by that which they allowed is even more awesome 👍,!!
our team has a ball boy that plays semipro in the off-season, and one of our groundskeepers has a canon coaches and players were shook when they first saw it. lot of talented ppl in baseball.
That is one of the most amazing stories ive ever heard...even if he didnt make the team full time he got to play and make two great plays...got a WS series ring...wow what a dream come true.
This is literally the scene of every rags to riches story of someone higher up going “well let’s see what the kid has” and he proceeds to decimate the game.
Well of course he got a World Series ring! Anybody that is part of the organization receives one. All the way from the bat boys, to the trainers and even equipment managers.
