To top it all off, the movie's writing director is Dav Pilkey, which he himself knows the exact way to making Dog Man as fun to watch with it's signature humor and story. Also, like what some are suggesting, George and Harold better be in both the beginning and end of the movie just like in the books with their VAs reprising their roles, not to mention the traditional Flip-o-rama gag which literally can get the audience on the floor uncontrollably laughing their asses off.
Dream works at one of the rear companies that adapt books perfectly most of the time -prince of Egypt -Captain underpants -HTTYD -the wild robot -the bad guys And now this!
As a huge Robocop fan, I was surprised to see another story about a police officer getting revived as something else, as well as the Robocop reference in the movie's tagline. Haven't checked out the books yet, but I'll definitely watch the movie. Feels like the perfect match for me.
If you want more proof of how detailed this movie is, the reporter has an Australian accent. A minor detail in the books but even that wasn’t left out. Awesome
Sony apologized for that " certain" movie in 2017 and gave us spiderman across the spider verse and dreamworks apologized for that "certain" sequel to the best movie and gave us dog man!
This feels like the kind of movie that’s gonna have just the right amount of fan service. I’ve actually been hearing about people wanting some kind of Captain Underpants reference like a cameo of a character or just something like the toilet robot from the last movies lying in the background somewhere. Very excited for this movie!
I’m generally thinking that this movie is gonna be amazing! I mean, the voice acting, animation, and the details (including Dog Man being mute) is JUST SO WONDERFUL!
I used to read lots of dav pilkey books, i would read them in our tiny school library, i would watch the captian underpants movie and the shows, and i would collect the cat kid comic club books. Infact i still have some laying around. These books were the first books that i would pay attention to. Im so happy that dog man has gotten a movie that stayed faithful to the original books, just like how the captian underpants adaptions were.
I have noticed a lot of people talking about how George and Harold aren’t in the trailer and possibly not in the movie. I just wanna say that while I do agree with your opinion, I believe that dogman has slowly become its own universe while also being a slim spinoff of captain underpants. I’ve heard some theories about how instead of them writing the books, they are actually IN the universe, similar to the world of captain underpants, which I think is cool. Either way, I just feel like it would be nice to have this be its own series rather then have so many connections with George and Harold. Maybe George and Harold are writing the books based off of a REAL DOGMAN in their world. Either way even if they show up in the movie I won’t be mad, they are adored characters and I can see why. I just want people to know that it won’t change the dogman universe whatsoever if it just so happens to become its own series, its own world and not just a kids imagination, it will be just as great, maybe even more amazing.
As a long time Dog Man fan, I think they nailed it. The only I found off is I don't personally think Pete's voice fits him very well, but I'll take what we got. Chief and the news reporter lady are exactly how I thought they'd sound though.
As a person who's favorite book for a while was the Dog Man series (while being devastated from the Minecraft Movie), I highly appreciate the amount of things they included here. From the quote from the poster, to the giant vacuum in the first book. It was just perfect (though was expecting Peteys voice to be different but it's still good).
I don't read books, and my first introduction to captain underpants was the movie. I also just found out about dog man. I don't know much about dog man, but this is made by dreamworks, and it looks extremely similar to the great movie that was the captain underpants movie, so I might give this a watch. But i'm surprised they haven't made a captain underpants movie sequel. I'm still waiting for that to happen. Hopefully they announce it soon, if a lot of people end up liking the dog man movie.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE SCENE IN THE TRAILER WHERE PETEY IS ON THE SQUIRREL TANK IF YOU ZOOM IN CLOSLEY HE ONLY HAS 2 WISKERS ON ONE SIDE OF HIS FACE. LIL PETEY MAY BE CONFIRMED GUYS 😭😭🙏🏼
I know it's not a movie I'll watch, but I higly respect the animators cause holy moly this looks gorgeous ! It looks like an odd mix of Clay-motion and CGI, and yeah, it looks fantastic !
0:05 I can confirm this is part of the movie Okay, this movie is actually sick. One problem, though, is that Petey's tail is ROUND. Other than that, it's amazing. "It's time to stop this SUPA COP!"
Never read Dav Pikey’s books, but I have seen the Captain Underpants Movie! I HAVE HIGHER HOPES FOR THIS ONE!! Since I’ve heard that it’s more accurate, and the animation is much more fuzzier, I was so excited and happier about it (I hadn’t been this more happier since Spiderverse) but we’ll see how it performs! 🐶👮♂️
This would explain why the art style for this movie is very similar to _Captain Underpants_ . And that stinks because I didn’t even know it was a spin off until now.
@@GreenAppl3VRit’s still a spin off, a spin off can still have an original story. I can see your point tho it’s not what you would think a spin off would be.
0:02 I love it, that is my favorite part already because chief says dogman you only have one job to do. Keep your eyes on those monitors' cuts to fnaf and then the animatronics looking at the monitor aka camera.
By the way I saw a comment that led us to the part when petey the cat is laughing and he or she pointed out that PETEY ONLY HAD FIVE WISKERS IN THAT PART SO THAT MEANS IN THAT PART HE IS MAKING LITTLE PETEY
I might be spoiling the plot of the Dog Man but on the trailer there is a scene where it shows Chief's office. In his office you can see a portrait of the Evil Mayor from the first book. I think this indicates that the Mayor is actually the main threat of the movie and NOT Petey.
you know what i noticed was so interesting. petey talks almost exactly like mr krupp. i find it so hard to believe that this is JUST a coincidence and i think it's because petey is supposed to be evil in this movie and mr krupp is like the EPITOME of evil to george and harold. it makes sense that he would sound exactly like him
The Captain Underpants art style, the classic puns, & the voice actors for Pete & Chief were amazing. (I love how they kept Dog Man silent as he should) this is everything I’d want in a movie which we haven’t got in a long time
Are you going to make a video about the "Byeee multiverse collection", the upcoming crossover merchandise drop between Amphibia, The Owl House, and Gravity Falls that will be launching a Kickstarter soon and was worked on by the creators of all three shows?
Nothing bad about the trailer but I don’t like that they didn’t copy the same thing from the poster of the book it would have been cool if they recreated the book poster but in animated form 3:22
