I like Metallica’s “Whiskey in the Jar” better than the original but agree most redos are crap. There’s a pianist name of Gamazda on RU-vid that does justice to a lot of older rock songs, I especially liked her “Comfortably Numb”. The band Striking South did a decent go at “Country Roads”
I love Melanie's original, and this gets a 100% thumbs up as a perfect updating to that great tune. The singer in this even sounds like Ms. Safka...Great Job
Kick ass cover! And I love the original. It takes talent to reinvent a song like this, while still leaving it intact. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes are the best at this, and this cover is as good as anything they could do. Thank you for this!
So glad that this group is hooked up with Blackheart Records. It would have been a damn shame to have squandered The Dollyrots with any of the labels that were too stupid to sign Joan.
Look what they've done to your song Melanie. They done you proud girl. Awesome remake Dollyrots and the last time I ever said that was when Johnny Cash covered 'Hurt'.
If you just look at her, she's cute, as soon as that voice starts she is suddenly 25 times more cute. That voice is absolutely magical. Like others have said, Not generally a fan of covers, but, this outshines the original by no less than 6-7 times. I'll have to look into the rest of what they do now. :) - DJ Pantha
@@DiamanteDea I couldn’t decide if each pair of brand new roller skates was a metaphor for a different guy. I spose he’s got a band new key means a new house but the same guy
