Why, why do I need to go through 1000 videos and pages only to find a man who explains this perfectly in less than 4 minutes? Thank you for the clear explanation!
The DOM is a data structure that represents the page you see in your browser and gives you an API to interact with it (styling, queries, responding to events)
He says the DOM is a JavaScript object.. Is this correct? My understanding is that the DOM API is implemented by JavaScript and that is the extent of the crossover?
@@ivanvincent7534 DOM belongs to the browser. JavaScript only uses it to make all the things possible. The DOM itself is a programming interface because it resides in the Web APIs section of the Web or browser. The Nodes or HTML elements present inside the DOM tree are those objects.
Finally! I've been trying for WEEKS to understand what DOM is and this is the first concrete, simple and straightforward explanation I see! Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for :D
Watched this last week, didn't quite understand. Spent a day learning about DOM manipulation. Came back to this video and it makes total sense. These videos are perfect for a quick overview/review of a topic!
Dude you should make a course with these types of videos. Short, simple, and intuitive explanations for important/basic concepts of web development or programming in general. Would love one about HTTP. Big fan of these tutorials because they don’t get bogged down into the weeds of the details, which makes everything a lot more complicated especially when you’re first learning it. I love the overall picture explanations of these concepts. Keep it up my man
thanks for this video I appreciate it. In my opinion, the most key thing you stated in the video is how the html document and DOM are basically the same thing but in different languages
I am so grateful for your channel!!! Your explanations are amazing! I'm a nurse learning coding and web development and you're channel has been one of the best resources I've found! Thank you!
Probably the best explanation of DOM I've seen so far. Thanks. Oh, and I noticed you used Baklykov from "Real Russia" on 1:35. Hilarious. The man's a legend, well done.
I'm in my advanced software dev classes. I can code c#, Python, Java, HTML, css, and js but have been trying to figure out what the heck the Dom specifically means. Based on deductive reasoning I figured it was the whole webpage application in general, but nothing I watched or read solidified that interpretation. Thank you very much. Sometimes people explain the simplest things in a complicated way, just to appear smart. Thank you for being real. Real smart people can explain complicated things simply. Subscribed my brother!
Hey Aaron, I've been trying to understand what the DOM is for days now. I watched soooo many videos and read so many explanations and I never got it. Now I watched your video. It only took the first two minutes and I got it. Your explanation is so easy! Well done! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video, I’m thinking of joining your boot camp, I just saw it two days ago and I’m waiting until I get paid so I can see what I’m working with.
I was doing the Zero to Mastery "Complete Web Developer" course and when Andrei got to the DOM part, I felt completely lost. It felt like he just jumped into using another foreign language without a good explanation. This video helped put things into perspective. Thank you.
A submodule from school, 3 articles, and a video from school couldn't explain the essential concept of this as well as a not even 4 min video on RU-vid. lol. Thank you.
Thanks! I appreciate it a lot. Such an easy explanation of what the DOM is. I've seen many other explanations but those people over and over again unnecessarily overcomplicated things.
