Wow been a fan since 2002 (Spend the night era), knew that they started out as Ragady Anne but didn't know that they got fame in Japan & toured as that band, little history of The Donnas that I didn't know.
Pure unadulterated beauty!!! Not all tatted up skanks!!! Let the music speak for itself, however it’s not the end game in the music business today. The looks have to come before the sound. 🤷♂️
Yeah I hope not as well. I pretty much grew up listening to The Donnas, and it would suck to have another fav band of mine split (ex: The Distillers, Tsunami Bomb) But I think these ladies have a rare and strong bond that will last for years to come! :D
(my comment contiued) they don't suck there songs, to me at least are very well aranged. i have very high respect for female artist such as the donnas because they have to deal with people such as ur self. i mean hate is no way to get anywhere if u dislike them yeah i understand but to say they suck, as in have no musical talent wut so ever (because to me that is wut the word means) then I think u are wrong but i respect ur opinion
@MaggieCrook One similarity is they got famous by playing music written by a guy, but otherwise no. The Donnas were fully formed all by themselves. The Runaways were entirely the creation of Kim Fowley...I mean totally. Their name and songs came from Kim and his songwriting buddies, their record deal, videos, shows. The Runaways started out playing forums and large clubs with huge Marshall Amps and all new equipment--not true of the Donnas.
its so sad that there are people (most guys) that underestimate The Donnas. They just need to accept there are some girls that can kick ass!!! here in mexico they are not too much appreciated... so bad! and when i convinced my friends to listen to them, at first they were like "yeah, sure, i bet they are girls just only playing ballads and snob songs" but after listen the songs they said: "wow! this is freaking awesome, are they girls really?"
Yes Indeed the Runaways wrote the majority of their songs. Look at the writing credits. And no Kim Fowley did not form the band. Joan Jett wanted to start an all girl band and met Kim Fowley. He had already met Sandy West and hooked them up. It wasn't his vision.
@Thomflanagan I've seen the band since 1997, Allison (Donna R) has great, fleshy lips...that somehow don't make it into pictures or videos. All the girls used to be incredibly geeky, but that's one of many unusual things about them...it's what makes them so unique and special.

honestly im a nice person i honestly on my mothers life treat everyone as they deserve and as for other women i dont hate them. i like to make new friends no matter what they look like chubby skinny tall short i dont give a fuck cause for me its the person on the inside that counts the same goes for guys that i date (continuing)

Everyone who aspires and shows ability gets torn down and ridiculed by the masses. I don't think it was because they were girls. That was just something to jibe them over. If they were boys, they would have copped juts as much disparagement.
The sad part is, no one cares about your gender, if you sucked, boy or girl, it is because you sucked. If you sound awesome, it's because you are awesome. it has nothing to do with your gender.
