I used to put on my headphones on in my room as a teenager and play the Doobie Brothers all night on my record player. Michael McDonald is the man with that killer voice and the harmonizing of the whole band is awesome. I bet they could play with blindfolds on and still sound this good. One of my favorite bands of all time.

I turned 16 in 1977 and I loved Michael McDonald he had such a soulful sound. My favorite song was What a fool believes. We were listening to Earth Wind and Fire, the temptations. My Dad called anything that wasn’t whiny country music, cat music...lol he would yell to us from down the hall, turn that cat music down. Those were carefree days, I wish I had them all back again

A few years ago I saw Michael open for the band Toto. I'll make this simple, the music that night was magical. Music brilliance all across the stage. After the concert I was walking around and ended up grabbing a bite to eat. I ran into a group of teenagers in line we started talking. I told them I went to see Micheal McDonald and Toto. They all looked bewildered and then one of them asked me, Michael McDonald isn't he related to the McDonald hamburger chain? I just looked at them and turned away. I couldn't even answer them.

When I want to remember the ecstasy of my once in a life time soul mate, I listen to this song. We didn’t have much time, 4yrs. We ran out of time, the end was coming for him. He told me he didn’t want to leave me and his only wish was to be able to take me with him because he knew how painful it was going to be for me. It was a gozillion times worse than I imagined. It took 5 yrs before I could even listen to any music at all. I started with this and a deep peace came over me, I knew HE was listening to it with me. I'm suddenly on a Michael McDonald craze I drive my wife crazy especially this video love Keeps You Running,Real Love,Minute By Minute I Keep Forgetting,One Step Closer just about everything from this guy gives me chills when I hear him sing.I watched him in a performance he did not long ago and man getting old is a bitch..I felt sad but also have to give him credit for still going out and trying and the fans still love him.He was an awesome force back in the day.I find it a must to watch him sing to help me unwind after work.Thanks Michael and God Bless I'm sure your not gonna see this but I wanna send this out anyway because your music means that much.

Not necessarily. I recognize a lot of these guys as monster players and studio musicians from other bands..Steely Dan etc...back then you had to know how to really play, any of them could walk into a room with random players on that level and throw it down on the drop of a dime
