The Doomsday Heist Is Boring And Outdated (A GTA Online Rant) 

I feel like you forgot the “Your CEO Quit” bug. It is literally impossible to complete the criminal mastermind challenge for the Doomsday Heist.

Biggest change would be to make these 1-4 players. Same for the old heists. That 4 players restriction even for some easy preps like steal prison bus is stupid af.

I agree! I HATE some of the setup missions when doing the Doomsday Heist. Most of them are so long, tedious and sometimes so boring. Even the Avenger Setup Missions is like HARDER than the actual Act 2 Bodgan Heist which mind you is the Easiest one.

The Snoozeday Heist

Every time when I TRY to complete the Doomsday Heist someone disconnects and we are FORCED to start all the way over from the beginning because the game kicks us out into freemode. This would not be so annoying if they would just add a Spectate system.

This is what I remember about Doomsday heists the most. Overall I was actually enjoying Doomsday heists when they came out but I noticed that every single act has at least 1 mission that's so boring and annoying that it demotivates me to play the heist. In act 1 it was the Deluxo prep mission. In act 2 I hated the firefighter mission the most I believe and in act 3 Chernobog mission is pure pain. Doomsday is in my opinion combination of one of the most fun and challenging missions with one of the worst missions at the same time.

My main complaint with heist preps and setups is getting stuff that you wont be using, like the 4 Deluxos for Act 1, or the 4 Strombergs for Act 2, or the 2 cars for the Casino Heist. I wish you were able to grab a minimum amount of whatever you have to grab for 2 players, (so 2 Deluxos/Strombergs or 1 Casino car, 1 weapons bag etc would be the minimum for a 2 player team). Having to get enough for 4 players is just dumb and annoying when you usually dont even have 3 players let alone 4, its specially bad if you do the preps solo, this is why I dont bother doing the Casino Heist or Doomsday without buying preps, its just tedious. Otherwise most Doomsday Heist setups/finales (apart from a few) are the most fun I have on this game

I feel like the classic heists and doomsday heists need a overhaul. If they made the the classic heists similar to the casino heist setup wise that would be awesome

to be fair doomsday heist should be the highest paying hit.

Sometimes wish I had people to do some of these heists even if just for the current heist bonus stuff, seeing how tedious this one is again makes me kind of glad I don't need to do this one.

One thing I will say with Doomsday and Player Choice - it's actually ironically *MORE* flexible to player choice than Casino even. It's just that it doesn't actually tell you the things you can do on missions, or even really intended on them - there's less rails to stop you from doing it. Like for example on Server Farms, did you know you can kill everyone in the parking lot and wire it with sticky bombs, then also wire the elevator area with sticky bombs? If your team does that you can wipe out the entire parking lot and the central defenders in one click. The heist is littered with stuff like this, it's just not obvious. Or the 50 different methods you can use on the otherwise terrible act 2 finale..

While I agree the setups are unnecessarily long, the reason you steal both is to prevent Avon from arming himself with better weapons, you steal both so he won’t reproduce them, and so you can sell one of the cars.

I would rather all of this over doing deliver EMP with randoms. That mission drove me insane

There is a reason to take both the Barrage and Khanjali - so that Clifford can't use either! Anyway, I totally agree with you about setups, however the act 3 finale is my favorite mission.

The prep missions are too long, but I do like the challenge of the rescue agent 14 and Khanjali missions. Remember you get major discounts on some very cool vehicles as well while ALL of the Perico vehicles are garbage. Payouts are definitely too low, although in 2 player mode the finale isn't bad with the bonus.

Unfortunately, this is my favorite heist in GTA Online. No I don't care about the rewards and the cash, I care more about the gameplay. You may call me boring because I enjoy boring missions. I felt like they were the most unique and had a very nice story (yes I'm aware that GTA is not supposed to be a game where you save the world but I can't help how much I loved this heist). I liked the challenging missions that doomsday heist had and how much harder it is. It's harder than today's missions like the contracts, they are easy and don't bring much challenge. But I get it on the other side why you would hate it. To be honest I would fall asleep from this missions if I want to do it for the hoodie but replaying the whole heist is hella fun.

The same can somewhat be said about the Casino Heist. Still a great heist, mind you, but it would be vastly improved if it could be done solo. A few changes like only needing to steal one 4-door getaway vehicle and being able to pick more than just one part of the objective during prep missions. Making 2 trips bugs the hell out of me. Lastly, drop the need for 2 key cards to 1. I'd rather be encouraged to play with other people, not forced. Oh, and as a bonus, use the same mechanic as Cayo of having a random guard holding a key to a separate entrance. Except in the Casino Heist, this guard will have 3rd level clearance to cages within the vault

I recently ran through all 3 Doomsday acts with a buddy and at the end I got the Xbox 'rare' diamond achievements for each one, Bogdan was the 'highest' player percentage at 6% of all players playing GTA finishing it (and we all know why that is) but act 1 and 3 both had less than 5% of players finishing it, which seems like a waste of harddrive and data use to have a group of missions that barely anyone does, then again that is a very common theme with GTA, a game with thousands of missions/activities and barely any player count because people would rather run a Cayo to get money and then spend the rest of their time griefing in Freemode

Another thing to add to the list: 4-player Criminal Mastermind pays out $3.75 million but 2-player only pays out $750k. You'd think the less players, the higher the award but it's reversed. I feel like 4-player should stay at $3.75 million, 3-player should go up to $7.75 million and 2-player should be over $10 million since the missions are already hard enough as it is even with 4 players so 2 players should be rewarded more since they are losing their sanity to get a trophy/achievement saying they did the 3 hardest challenges possible.

the sad thing for the ULP escort mission is that with the Minigun Tampa you can protect the S-300 better than with the ramp buggies as well as shoot down the Valks with it as well... but some vics / helis could really use a few MKII versions like the Akula, the Scarab as well as the Conada as a weaponised MKII upgrade...

If you want to make the Act 3 Finale more interesting, get a notepad and keep track of how many times everyone died, your friends will hate it.

The doomsday heists are not outdated but too tedious and the pay is too low. They should increase the payout by at least 3 times, especially act 3. Spend almost 30 mins to complete and only pay 2.2mil. It should be at least 6.5mil.

It really sucks because Rockstar clearly made all these choices to sell more shark cards. If they made the content more engaging, fun and balanced, then the reason for buying shark cards wouldn’t be “so I don’t have to slog through everything”. It’s a big reason why I quit the game a few years ago. The content isn’t there for long term players to engage with and you find out it’s a shallow experience designed to get you to spend

I did the Bogdan Problem Heist with randoms just to get the Clifford Varsity and what we did was someone had the Toreador and I joined in and we went underwater and stayed there the entire time and do nothing just to wait for the other player/s to finish the submarine part and pick the player/s up in the Toreador underwater and get in the Avenger take out the enemies in choppers and go to the hanger at LSIA and we finished it in under 15 minutes.

It blows my mind people still grind this game when there’s so many great frozen money glitches right now

Escort ULP defined in two words: "Fun sucker"

Besides the set ups for the first mission I've never done Bogdan. And the only reason I did that was because there was a glitch during the mission to put F1 wheels on my RC tank.

This might just be my opinion But me & my crew personally liked the Doomsday heist (more for the long story aspect of it) We also enjoyed the casino heist but didn’t enjoy Cayo (bc of how fast it can be done) We also enjoyed the the wacky situations of the doomsday heist (which is opposite to what most of the community likes) This is just me tho

As you mentioned the MC selling missions. I think that these are the worst missions in the game by design. When they came out you had to do them in a public lobby and all R* came up with for a business battle against other players was to give you slow as hell vehicles and mark them as a target on everyone else's map. The idea probably was that you do it with friends and fill up the MC with randoms to protect the cargo, but if you get 4 vehicles the majority of your group can't defend you. And now were every sane person does their missions in a private lobby, they are just boring.

Yes, some missions are boring, but other than Chernobog and Khanjali, DDH is still my favorite content in the game. I had A LOT of joy doing all three Criminal Mastermid challenges. You actually needed to be careful and work as a team to pull it out. Compare it to the Casino and Perico, where you need to shoot yourself in the foot first to make it hard.

Yeah the Cayo Perico preps can be done so easily once I did the cutting torch in 2,5 MINUTES

To be fair, you did get 15 job points at the end there.

i like the concept of the heist but the payout should have been a lot higher considering you just saved the world basically mission wise they are not too difficult except avenger setup, that one can go screw itself

A friend and I just completed my doomsday heist acts the other day, since I never did them on Xbox, and oh man it's just as painful as I remember it being, thankfully we're pretty good as a team so it definitely went better than in some cases. Now I just need to finish the OG heists and well.. yeah finding 2 more people isn't fun

definitely a necessary video . rockstar should revisit old heists and jobs , because they just become pointless

The problem with many missions mentioned is they are 'test drive' missions, where the point is to get the players to try out some new vehicle, hoping they will purchase it later. Notice how the NPCs always take their time talking about the cool features of the vehicle you're driving, exactly like a salesman during an IRL test drive. Rockstar loved having missions like this years ago (see MOC missions, special vehicle work, OG heist preps). At least with MOC and special vehicle, the missions were small and standalone. You do them once and then you're basically done with them. But these Doomsday ones are required to do every time you play this heist. Only requiring the player to steal the Barrage or Khanjali is a great idea to speed things up for Act 3.

My biggest complaints with doomsday is that most of the heist is literally endless driving from the city to the desert with most mission drop off points being at the desert so it’s just endless driving for the most part. Also the fact that the heist has you do both setup missions and prep missions which completely slow down the whole heist entirely having to go from doing what’s essentially heist setups in free mode to doing another heist setup but in a seperate lobby made worse when you have to collect 4 vehicles sometimes even when you aren’t gonna do the heist with 4 people. To me the mission structures of all the setup missions(with the exception of escort ULP) aren’t really bad. It’s just killed and ruined with the constant driving back and forth from desert and city. To me I’ve always considered the doomsday heist as a whole as more of GTAs version of an Endgame/ dark souls style difficulty type of experience and I want it to stay that way with some missions structure changes mainly the spawns and drop off points like you said. Also buffing it’s pay by a lot and making it the best paying heist for all the things you gotta do making it more of a dark souls challenging type of heist would make it more of a reason to be played and would give players the high reward for playing it over the other heists and wouldn’t take away from players who would still want to do the cayo or casino heist for its simplicity. So to sum it all up the heist needs spawn and drop off changes for its setups and preps(wish preps never existed to begin with). Let us collect how many vehicles depending on how many players we will have on the team or vehicles we will use. And buff the pay for finales to make it worth putting the time and effort into doing all the preps setups and overall work doing the heist.

Finally someone said it! I mean out of all the Heists Rockstar Released this is by far the WORST one they did. I mean seriously its so painful to do. You have to do prep missions before you even do the Setup missions. You still have to have people play with you to complete those setup missions. The heists themselves they just are not that fun to do. The moment when someone dies or disconnects its considered a failure and you're forced to Restart the mission or even worse get kicked back into freemode. By that point you're just done at that point because it takes so damn long to even start the mission again. I completed Act 3 Finale of the Doomsday Heist after a long 9 painful months and I am NEVER EVER touching it again. Thank god Rockstar finally realized this was so badly designed so they made sure to make the future Heists (Casino Heist and Cayo Perico) actually fun and not have you do all of these painful requirements that the old Heists like Doomsday did.

Tbh I absolutely love the doomsday setups (most of them) bc I discovered that you can swoop into fort zancudo and cop a Lazer to use to make the mission 1000000% more fun and I got very good at using the Lazer as a result. It’s highly risky to be that dbag who goes rogue and ends up smashing into a tree but the feeling of getting like 97 kills and looking like a god among mortals is dope

Worst thing about Escort ULP? All you need to do is drive the Chernobog to the initial objective. After that, you can abandon it and just use whatever Personal Vehicle you brought along.

It's not just the setups that are so dull and tedious, the difficulty spike for some of them is ridiculous (the avenger setup especially) Add it to something that needs an update like the original heists, some of the sell missions and Smugglers run business in general.

Bogdan skip setup glitch is still the best way of making money in this game🤷‍♂️

I personally like the Doomsday finales and some missions. It really gives you a sense of challenge that you won't find in casino or cayo perico. I mean, once you know the way you just mindless run and take whatever you're there to take. No enemies confronting you in a menacing way, just positioned npcs easy to take down. In the doomsday heist you can't run like crazy like that, if expose yourself a little it's over. That's why i like it, just not with inexperienced randoms.

only reason i did doomsday senario is because i love the shoot out in the server room. but since they added the room to survival i been playing that instead

While I agree DD could benefit from some slimming down (fewer and/or shorter preps and setups mainly. although they could remove escort ULP entirely if you ask me), on the upside DD has some of the most complex, varied, and challenging missions in the game. The Act 3 finale, in particular, is outstanding IMHO (ok, you could get rid of the long and pointless tank or barrage drive prior to the action commencing). The jug fight, battling through the corridors to the control room, fighting waves of guys while cracking some fun puzzles, the orbital cannon (easy and boring but quick), fighting to the launch silo and finally chasing down Avon in jetpacks. Simply a great mission if you ask me. Sure, pay could be better but even without the boosts, it's not chump change. Heists *ought* to be challenging. Comparing to Cayo Perico which is so trivially easy and quick and ridiculously overpaid, DD is way more fun. Even some of the setups are pretty challenging -- the avenger mission, rescue 14, rescue ULP -- just great missions.

The issues is that all of the Doomsday Heist Preps and Setups are nothing but overly elaborate advertisements for vehicles they want to sell you and really really are useless outside them.

Only way i can have some fun doing the ulp escort missions is by just stealing a Lazer from the military base and use it to blow up all the helicopter, honestly that chernobog sucks massive ass.

My friends Heist got wiped like every single heist he had ready like cayo, Diamond, Doomsday and Apartment Heist got wiped so now I’m helping him do it all over again.

I have a tip for everyone struggling with the Escort ULP Setup. If you go to Fort Zancudo you can get a Laser Jet and shoot down most of the helicopters that are attacking ULP in the air. I did this and it works really well. I will agree the Doomsday Heist is so outdated.

I remember in act 2 there was this INCREDIBLY ANNOYING mission, where agent ULP. Would. Not. Move. And I had to retry this mission like 20 times (no joke it was around that many times) before it actually didn't bug out and I could complete it... The worst part is what fixed it was to force everyone to wear specific outfits via CEO options. How does that ever change anything!? Rockstar's level of testing is just beyond the negatives..

I think the only thing the doomsday stuff has going for it is the fact you can skip the setups using that pay for the preps glitch

I decided to do 2 person doomsday criminal mastermind By act 3 we were bored as fuck and escort ULP I was just sat in my toreador lock on fire lock on fire wait to spawn repeat for what felt like 50 minutes

i only have 3 problems with the heist: rapid fire bug can happen ANYtime, even on valkyrie miniguns in the chernobog setup (instantly kills a vigilante) that stupid bug where cmm progress randomly gets reset for no reason at all during act 1 when u start the finale. not being able to solo the heist.

took me 3 years just to actually want to finish this heist plus i had to do the whole of act 3 with randoms (i actually finished it with random people and that was a terror on its own )

The preps and setups for the act 2 finale are just boring, and the same goes for all of these heists. Which is why me and my crew only stick to finales and skip our setups where possible. We didn't do any of of the preps or setups for act 1 or 2. We haven't done any setups on our act 2, casino, cayo or pac standard since these heists came out, and I've been playing this game since I was in highschool.

I'll just say that all of Act I & II setups (except Submarine Recon) & one Act III setup (Rescue Agent 14) are horrendous to complete imo. The rest are fun enough & their standard payouts are good compared to OG Heist setups. However the Doomsday's Heists as a whole is still plagued with bugs that R* introduced in a following update & annoyingly never bothered to fix, such as the notorious "CEO has quit" bug, inability to quick restart & the Avenger's broken autopilot in Act II finale...etc.

I had the stupidest glitch on the barrage mission, my friend and I died on it and we restart from checkpoint and we didn't get the explosive ammo back. We had to chase the thing down across the map to the military base.

Something about rescue ULP, drive the opposite direction and you can grab a jet

On the biker MC missions the one where you have to save the victim from the O'Neil farm the victim is always invisible and the guard happens every time

The "full auto enemy bug," bullet sponge enemies, and not a big enough payout is why I haven't played them since the casino heist and cayo released.

We used an insurgent pick up custom instead the 2 ramp buggys the gunner can shoot the helis, chernobug keeps driving

From the comments I am realizing there are two kinds of players: Type A: Played Doomsday, got killed repeatedly, decided they hate it and want an easier way to farm money like Cayo Type B: Players who went for the CMM challenges, discovered all the mission tricks, and love Doomsday for the ass kicking difficulty, teamwork and flexibility

I never did any of the Doomsday heist preps and the finale itself, except for the first prep mission, but I’ve seen videos about how hard it is to complete this heist. IMO, escort ULP, and the one mission with the Avenger are next impossible to complete. Worst missions Rockstar has ever designed. Especially when you have one, or a bunch randoms that either don’t know what they’re doing, or just refuse to listen to you as a heist leader. I wonder if it was the same designer at Rockstar who made the Post Op sell mission got a divorce with their wife and made the majority of these Doomsday missions very hard to complete. I’m glad I skipped doing the Doomsday heist, but I feel bad for those who suffered through it. The Clifford clothing are not worth it just like the Halloween t-shirt.

They should let us do the setups and heists solo then maybe it won't be that bad

It sucks how boring this is after the first time since its arguably the biggest update we have got. Cayo doesn't count, 200 songs aren't that exciting unless you're the type to love all sorts of music or something.

Whenever I attempt the doomsday heist it's just to get refreshed & a whole lot frustrated but not for the money bcoz there's no money in it compared to Cayo perico.

I wiped the Doomsday Heists from my memory after getting the trophies for all Mastermind and Elite challenges. Waste of time combined with enemies who melt you despite armor and snacking.

Last thing I want to hear from someone with that much modded money that something isn't worth the time for the amount of money you get

GTA online devs are great at making boring, uninspired, no-challenge filler content. That is all GTAO is. Artificial difficulty. Nothing in GTA is actually all that difficult.

Also the criminal mastermind for this makes no sense as you get more money for completing it with more players, it’s definitely harder to complete with 2 players compared to 3 or 4.

I feel like the Doomsday Heist was never suposed to be repeated/grinded, I do like some missions of it but the time and efford to complete the finale is just not worth at all, looks like the DH was made to be done just once and thats it since the DLC itself is basically a story

I decided to replay the doomsday heist before the bonus gift. So now i have to replay it AGAIN.

I don’t even have to watch the video to know all this. I realized it all back when the heists released. Super tedious and not worth it
