I'm a 20 year old who just got to know about this song and reading all these comments and stories of these people is a surreal feeling. I'm so happy to be here i love rock music
My friend Adam passed away 2 weeks ago from cancer at 49 it was his dying wish as the curtains closed today at his funeral to play this song (he was a huge doors fan and a wind up merchant) he got his wish, may you REST ETERNALLY IN PEACE ADAM MAIR LOVE YOU BROTHER 💙
RIP the two members of The Doors Ray Manzarek (February 12, 1939 - May 20, 2013), aged 74 Jim Morrison (December 8, 1943 - July 3, 1971), aged 27 You both will be remembered as legends.
Well you know, the thing is, it's literally the case. To barely paraphrase the Genius Lyrics page of the song, it is actually featured in several greatest songs ever lists, and it's rated n°35 on the Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest song of all time. So there you go. 😊
I am , here in S.Korea !! As a native S Californian born in 56, this song brings back flooding memories of my childhood listening to 93 KHJ and 100 KRLA !!! MAN OH MAN. No body who didn't grow up in the 60s & 70s will ever get it...
Whats always amazed me about the Doors was what a rich sound they got without a bass when live - they did have a bass on recordings. I guess Ray Manzarek added bass notes on his synthesiser. Also Robby Krieger is playing bass licks on his guitar at times. That was very advanced for the time. Classic band. Grew up with them. Still play this.
@@NoName-tt9ye no, they had de the elvis presley bassist in the first album recording the bass notes from them in the studio, and many other bassist do this for them too
I was born in 1978, only just realised how great the DOORS are. I love how Jim does not dance around like Jagger, Bono or even my favorite Vedder. Jim is just far too cool and in the moment. Love him. One of a kind for sure, wish he was here still..... COME ON BABY LIGHT MY ....
Fucking hell mate has everyone forgotten that Morrison was an absolute wreck head? Jump around after five tabs of acid? He can barley stay awake! Jumps around? You never seen that live concert where he ends up on the fucking floor 😂 half swirling in circles muttering god knows what about lizards. Every time I see that comment "Morrison is a genius" you know what I think now I'm an adult? You never took LSD growing up mate. 😂😂😂
I love this show! Manzarek - Most of the music, not always, but does his stuff, just like a pianist sometimes, and goes on the forefront when he feels like it Krieger - The man who keeps charge of things. The unheard genius of the Doors. Actually, all four are so. But so it goes. Densmore - Underrated drum smacker, keeps this together Morrison - Song and leather pants, shaman for all ages
@@thiagooliveira1735 ❤Timeless masterpieces from legendary "Doors" ❤ Authentic instruments, great sound! Jim is handsome! More than 50 years have passed, but you can listen to them forever! ❤ Love them! She said something like that
Damn, during that freaking solo, I realized why the band was called the Doors. That organ makes you imagine the dawn somewhere on an ocean shore, or kissing with a girl while glancing at the big moon at chill August's night. It's just fabulous.
@@markhaigh2159 how about I change that I want to change the world for the better not what the artist are doing today singing like they dont want to arrested I want to go up there and dont give a shit about anything man I just want to rock n roll the crowd I want police to be stopping me I want to change the world man
Yeah he's higher than a kite mate. Why is this so hard for everyone to understand? You take drugs, you do weird stuff, and if you get super lucky someone makes you famous 😂 particularly with Jim he is just a wreckhead you can see it, you can hear, there's no denying it! And the lyrics to say People Are Strange? Tell me.one person who hasn't said that when they are on another planet? "Oh mate there's faces coming out of the rain" 😂 you call it genius but speaking as an ex-addict all I hear is "drugs, drugs, I bloody love drugs!!!!"
When i listen to the doors music, i think this group was so underrated, my opinion they can give the Stone's, Beatles and Queen a run for there money, Jim Morrison was a genius
Henry Baird was outlining that the drumming of this song isn't always given as much credit as it should, the organ, music and guitar isn't really considered underrated because it is always being praised, and rightfully so because the vocals are amazing, the organ is also really great and the live version for this guitar solo is better then the studio guitar solo in my opinion, and these are all commonly said. But I agree, the drumming in this live performance is actually really good, and is quite underrated.
One of the greatest bands that’s ever walked the face of the earth. The perfect musicians in Ray, Robby & John with one of the most charismatic frontmen in rock n’ roll history.
When this song came out it was my last year in high school. My friend and I would drive around L.A. in his V.W. Bug. My pal would drive perfectly, but he never had the slightest idea where we were. It just didn’t matter as long as the eight track worked and we didn’t run out of matches. I miss you Salvador Perez.
Still sends a tingle up my spine, the music they made will never die, pure genius. Saw them with Jefferson Airplane in London, still vivid in my mind. RIP Jim...
Doors, Led Zeppelin, Santana, etc 1975 / 76 77
The Doors, symbol the sounds of the trance organ notes, led by the emotional growls of Jim’s voice and lyrics. An entrance with his sexy red leathers, and the beating drums, which makes you wanna jump through the loops of fire.

On this day in Music - 04 Jan 1967 The Doors released their self-titled debut album The Doors. The album features their breakthrough single 'Light My Fire' and the lengthy song 'The End' with its Oedipal spoken word section. The album was recorded at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood, California over six days and unique packaging of the album included each band members bio.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_WIhT5S-QIo.html It's a demo song from the the strokes before their album Is This It. It's very 'the doors' inspired. Plus Julian's vocals are like Jim here.
I am 50 i was born the year Jim Morrison died and he is still one of the best front men out there love the Doors and believe me when I say no matter what drug you take listening to them it's honestly brilliant I have done plenty but they are one of a few bands that it doesn't matter if you are straight they are still the same brilliant
