I love the story behind this song. Jim came to Robby and John one day and was very depressed. They told him to take a nice walk up to the top of the hill over looking LA. He came back an hour later with the whole song written on a piece of paper. It’s safe to say that Jim was a lyrical genius, and should not only be remembered as lead frontman of The Doors, but a brilliant poet as well.

After nearly 60 years, it dawned on me the other day just how much I enjoyed listening to the Doors back in late 60s.
