The way Jim Morrison sings, the strength and control of his voice; the story he's telling, He is the person. That atmosphere created by the mood of the lyrics, the music, and that character, if it were a movie Hitchcock would have directed it and Jim would have won an oscar. This is sinister stuff. Sometimes I get so elevated listening to the doors. Jim was an easy genius, sitting alongside William Blake. Who has ever put words together like that this century, who has delivered them with such intent. And with a band making something perfect to wrap around those words. The evocations of these lyrics, the feeling in the voice as the words are delivered, is it a sneer? That these four people should have come together in the same space at the same time is truely a blessing. It's incredible the pictures I see in my minds eye when I listen to some doors songs. Will we never see their like again?
Beautifully tempered ballad, which Jim was so good at keeping in register with the Doors . A great, great band. Thank you, - just love the depth of these double-edged lyrics. JaneR
