You'd be very surprised. I know someone who owns a fancy restaurant and we have spoken over the years about the nature of the business. In order to make a profit, corners must be cut in places, no way around it. They may be using butter, but they're cutting it with margarine. This happens to be one of the oldest restaurant tricks in the book. The better places may use less, but they are all doing it unless they specifically state so. Everyone has an angle and they utilize it to the fullest.
It's so nice seeing you having a good time there, compare to Harrods which the scones were not warm and missing first 😅... I also went to Dorchester around 2 weeks ago on a Sunday and it was really busy so the waitresses and waiters did not have time to top up my tea, plus my seat was near the entrance which was so far from the pianist, so a disappointing experience considering the price, but maybe if I go there when it's not as busy, it will make a difference. The sandwiches, I also liked ham and chicken the most, and pastries were very nice and the ambiance was really beautiful, they were also happy to replenish as many sandwiches as you like 😃 so I believe it's still worth to try. Thank you for sharing your experience, I do like when you talked about the bread is fresh or not 😊 I'm going to try Corinthia this weekend, hopefully will be a nice experience 🙂
