Holy crap, what a fish! Except... "Hey dude, you just caught a fish of a lifetime, let me hold that for you, and star in the picture, you can hold the tail though. And you can hold the next one by yourself"
I know and Matt is getting grief for it but like he said in a previous comment, Doug has held a lot more big fish and it was his choice to have him grab the fish. Matt doesn’t want to risk hurting the fish just for a picture so he was ok with it. This year he is catching a 56” and nobody else is even thinking about touching it!!!
Best way to lose your tip as a guide: Dont let me handle my own PB. He should be teaching people how to handle them, not taking the opportunity to make himself look good... He doesnt even let his client let it go?! ... might be a good fishermen, but you cant treat clients like a viewer on your youtube channel.
Oh man, poor Matt can’t respond to these enough. Please look at his previous responses. Matt has caught plenty of fish but not many fifties when this was caught and doesn’t want to kill or mishandle these fish. Doug catches something like 30 over fifty a year and has lots of experience with handling 40+ pound fish. And that’s the rest of the story!
Beautiful fish. Crazy the girth was only 23.5 inches for 55 inches long. My biggest so far was 51 inches with 24.5 inch girth, but she was fattening up for winter in mid October.
We totally agree, all the way around! We’ve got a couple we are working on now from October and caught three of my biggest to date! Thanks for your comment
How is it that your videos are just showing up in my feed? All I do on RU-vid is watch muskie videos. Tremendous production work and a great fish to go along with it. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks!
Because Googles algorithm sucks! And getting worse! Thanks a lot and we have another couple we will be posting soon. Really appreciate the compliments!
I'm in WV as well, Morgantown area. Around here it's Mon River, Tygart Lake or just a handful of other choices within 100 miles that I know of if you're going after muskies. Never caught one personally but I have landed a few of these beautiful creatures
As you may or may not know that it’s pretty chaotic when a big fish is landed and capturing it all on film adds another element. We all want that fish to survive and get it back in the water as fast as possible, that is the most important. There wasn’t much cut from the footage we shot so when it’s all over and that fish swims away, we all just kind of sit in amazement at what happened in the last few minutes and just take it all in. No doubt that fish is still swimming and will be back in a few weeks to see if she got any bigger. Keep watching, we just got back from Minnesota and landed a couple more big girls on film!
@@Fishcamp hope you are on the water this week. Between the lunar cycle and this first big front of fall the big girls should be putting on the feed bag
Musky tail where I'm from before I was born one fisherman caught a musky they tied it's tail to a kids swing and its body bent before it's head touched the ground. Lol I'm still looking for it
@@jarod5179 correct. I was honestly shaking pretty bad and Doug has held a lot more big fish than I have. Priority was to get a clean release. In hindsight yeah wish I had that pic but no regrets.
The guy that caught it should have taken that fish out of the net. He should have definitely released her. That guide is wrong, Matt is an experienced angler. His name is “musky Matt” for gods sake !I!
I get it but as Matt said in a previous comment posted, he was pretty shaken up and Doug has held a lot more 50 plus fish. Muskie Matt is very serious about not hurting any of these fish that are going back so it was all his decision. I know he wishes he had a picture of just him and his fish, as we all do, but it is pretty damn awesome to have all of this on film and it’s a darn great photo as well. He plans on catching another one this year and practice on that one, as we all do right! Thanks for the comment!
To Not let the ANGLER hold their PB Fish--whatever the size is so Inappropriate--- I mean come on !! These Guys Pay you the asking Price and Most likely a TIP--and you can't even let them Hold their fish for a Picture or 2--- Just Insane in my Book. I get the whole release it quickly and safe thing---But that fish should have been held by the Angler who caught it with the Guide Holding the Tail---Not the other way around.
I felt sorry for your customer. If I was paying you to guide me for a day I would not tolerate you not asking me if I felt confident enough to hold the fish for a photo !
Lol so he didn't let him hold his pb both times....I see the "reasoning" behind the 55 which is garbage already but he didn't even let him hold the 47.5 that's a joke. For 1200$ a day you can't even hold your own fish😂
Because we thought the scene needed something douchey so we called our people at BMW, told them we wanted something douchey and they threw a bunch of money at us. The rest is cinematic history!
