You are the most intelligent beauty blogger. I have learned so much from you. Since Covid, lots of beauty influencers have stopped creating content. But you continue to create some of the most informative beauty videos on the internet. In addition you are incredibly talented and beautiful. I have learned so much from you. In fact, in recent years, I look at your videos before making a decision regarding purchasing makeup and beauty products. I have never bought any Sigma brushes but because of your video, my next makeup brush purchases will be Sigma brushes.
You truly need to start a consulting business and contact these companies and pitch your ideas. Always on point. I've tried a few palettes and I either really liked it or hated it. But even though I'm a neutral girl and not into color, I'm loving the comeback.
Sigma started as a dupe brush brand for MAC brushes. Back then MAC was on top of the brush game, but their brushes were super expensive for the average consumer. Sigma positioned itself as the affordable alternative with similar quality. That’s why they blew up. Let’s not forget the MAC dupe videos. As you mentioned, influencers also played a huge role in their popularity.
Girl youve been looking extra extra gorgeous in your videos lately 😍 youre def glowing. You mentioned ELF going thru several rebrands and maybe you can do a video on how certain brands, like ELF, did rebranding right or how they continue to achieve success
I was going to ask about your thoughts about the OGs RU-vidrs coming back. You really didn't take a break and I've been following you for years and you have been consistent and seen you grow. How come you didn't fall into "I've been gone for awhile" , "life update" , "so it's been a while" trends?
I completely agree with your thoughts on the « new tiktok crowd » cause I’m one of them. I’ve watched beauty videos on RU-vid for ages but I only started buying makeup during the 2020 lockdown cause I could actually afford it, I was bored but also I had my own money! There will always be a younger cohort of people discovering brands and we can so easily forget that. I’ve never bought makeup brushes from sigma so it’s so interesting to listen to you share about their history, what made them popular, their bestsellers etc. Love the series!
Shanygne, you have turned the whole Beauty Influencer channel into a totally new direction and it’s working Working! When Sigma brushes were 🥵 I went to their website and saw the prices and I Clutched my Pearls! I was shocked that brushes would cost that much. So Morphe had a brush subscription that I had for a year and a half and I built my brush collection from it. I think it was $19.99 and as you said I got some Great brushes and some that weren’t so great. I still have unused brushes from then because they would put the most popular brushes in different colors and I had them already. I now have about 5 Sigma brushes that now that I think about it I have never used 😂
I have 2 or 3 Sigma brushes. I bought them 3 or 4 years ago when their popularity was already in decline but one of youtubers I watched at that time still used Sigma brushes all the time. They're okay IMO. Cheaper brands stepped up their game in quality for sure. Anyway, I have their duo concealer and loose powder on my wishlist. I like their latest eyeshadow palette but it's outside of my price range I can afford. In case of good sale, maybe.
@@EsiaAF I really like Essence brushes. The safest option to buy are those that you can buy them individually or in smaller sets. Bigger sets have worse quality.
I agree that basic brushes can be purchased cheaper but good "special" ones can be only bought from mid-tier brands like Sigma. E.g. you won't find a tiny pro gel eyeliner brush in mass market brands. I have one from Sigma, I went though the whole store and it was the best. I gladly use Essence powder brushes, spoolies and such, but they just won't ever do stuff like a duofiber crease blender
I didn’t follow the YT Beauty community at the height of sigmas success with their brushes but a lot of my favorite beauty RU-vidrs now (they are a few smaller channels) love their eyeshadow palettes. And I really want to buy ones. Honestly like I feel if they were promoted by big RU-vidrs i just wouldn’t trust them as much, not sure if that makes much sense 😅
I have several sigma brushes. I bought them at the height of their popularity (when Jaclyn Hill did her sets)- I’ve only had to replace ONE. They have lasted. I see them now at Nordstrom/ Nordstrom rack.
They just did a collab with makeupshayla on a brush set not that long ago but I fell like it should have gotten more traction. They need more advertisement so you saying they should link back with the returning OG’s and the new influencers is wise.
My home state is MN and I remember walking passed the Sigma store at MOA not really giving it a second thought. Well this summer went I went back to visit family and friends, I planned to stop by the store to swatch and buy palettes. Unfortunately they decided to close that store (so I bought the palettes online).
i always wanted to try sigma years ago, when it a]was popular but they never shipped to the UK. Now I see that they ship here and idc about them anymore but I may for old time sake
As I stated in another comment, I think Sigma is a great brand for more advanced makeup users and MUAs which will never be a majority. It's predictable that some people don't get it. But with these newer releases like themed collections they offered something more fun and user-friendly without losing their identity. I'm def one of more advanced makeup lovers and I really like having such brand as an option. Most of today's most popular brands like Fenty etc. offer mass market options only. This could be a great opportunity to position the brand as the option for people who want to do more editorial/stage makeup and are underserved in the current "clean girl" trends
I like Sigma brushes. I haven't tried there makeup thought because I need someone my dark chocolate skintone to be trying them before I buy. I have a 4 section train case full of makeup. I'm not trying to buy without knowing they'll work for me.
Hi Shanygne you look absolutely beautiful 🥰🥰🥰 your skin is glowing and I'm loving this look on you 💖💖💖💐 I've heard of them never tried Sigma but I'm intrigued 🙂
First of all I absolutely love your hair and I really want to invest in some sigma brushes and their palettes. I'm also interested in some of their other products.
Sigma was kinda strange to me because I was confused on why the prices of the brushes was so much higher than other “drugstore” brushes…..I mean they are a step up in quality but so is Real Techniques…
Interesting. I only heard of their brushes; had no idea they had other stuff. I was tempted to get some to support some creators I like (like Robert Welsh) but feel like you have to buy all of them? And from what i hear it's quite expensive. I'm good with my ecotools, ELF and Shop MissA brushes.
As a person who loves makeup brushes and makeup tools, it’s hands down Sigma over Morphe any day. There is no comparison. The quality of Morphe brushes is in no way as good as Sigma. I will gladly pay for Sigma brushes. They last and perform the same wash after wash.
I agree I'm happy about sigmas return. I really enjoy their brushes and I want to look into their makeup products cause they have come out with some cute palettes and stuff
Tik Tok : The place where pseudoscience that was finally mostly gone from RU-vid and old make up go to resurrect. Jippi! I want to try Sigma eyeshadows, but I’ve heard the quality varies a lot.
