nah, you can absolutely plug and play with a new guy to lead comms and direction, the in-game leader is a role after all. Ideally you would bring the guy up to speed on the system as it stands currently (this really shouldnt take more than a week) and then the rest of the team needs to make sure they follow his approach. After a few scrims and matches you'd expect to see the in-game leader offering suggestions for new strats that incorporate their knowledge of cod and other teams/pros and that complement the teams play styles. That said, im not really sure if thats why they brought in Asim but its just more about the fact you can totally bring in a new player to lead if required, probably wouldnt be bringing in anyone mid-season who doesnt have at least some experience playing at the pro level for this role, but its totally doable.

@@Jockuptown you can absolutely bring in a guy that can bring in a new system but that’s the the entire point. It’s a NEW system brought in by a new guy. The only way to learn a new system as a new guy is to be taught that system by someone who knew the old systems. If no one steps up then the new guy has to have complete control over the new systems he’s bringing in to the team.

@@avalope Not necessarily. Faze has been Optic's hard counter this year just like Optic has been Faze's counter in the past. It's more about the match-up. Last year NYSL won, but teams still made roster changes with Faze in mind.

@@avalope Why would you do that? Over the past couple years Faze and to a much lesser degree Ultra are the only consistent teams. Faze is the only team to average a 1-2 placing over the CDL era. Teams like LAT or NYSL weere great foe their respective years, but not consistent. Faze being the goal post is logical, especially when optic isn't struggling with any other team.

There’s tournaments being ran with teams of players we’ve never seen or will never see play along side each other in the league.

I keep seeing people make this comparison, are people forgetting that NY won the 1st event, and had the MVP of the league last year. They literally started hot, cooled off, and then finished hot, this year they've started slow (T12) and have continued to be slow.
