I'm a dystopian genre fan, I'm not a fan of most of the movies tho, the only movies that got me were THG, but I'm sad about the downfall, I want more good books on the genre and movies make them popular ;n;

I think with the Hunger Games Prequel movie coming out it seems to have made a resurgance and more people are talking about it again. I even watched the first movie for my English Class and then read the novels and watched the sequels. So the genre may make a revival

Best thing about hunger games compared to all the others is that katniss is in no way a “chosen one.” Theres nothing really special about her. Shes just a normal person who happens to win the hunger games by essentially dumb luck and gets roped into a revolution when all shes really trying to do is protect the people she loves.

All these dystopian movies are based on books though (that contained the love triangles et al). Maybe the number of movies were limited because the book series were limited in number as well? E.g there are about 3/4 books in the series for each of the movies mentioned. Film companies didn't have much to work with imo. Makes me wonder if they should have split each of the books into 2 or 3 parts in order to establish more depth.

ur video makes me reminisce about the good old days………. now that Marvel has laid down the blue print for movie success, it’ll be even less likely for masterpieces like the hunger games to be produced nowadays… not enough one liner “gotcha” comedy

Marvel definitely has incentivised other studios to produce the action/comedy and its diluted what’s in theatres 😭 But i think people will be craving something different with the oversaturation

anybody noticed there was no woke characters , i love the female actors , it was 0% woke meanwhile nowadays its just about we are against men and if a female is lead it shows i am above man meanwhile these old movies were not lkke that at all and both genders were respected

Knowing that Rachel Zegler is the lead for the Hunger Games prequal tells me there is 0 hope for this genre returning, here comes the woke injection into a completed story again
