I don't want the person to interrupt the performance, but I will always be team bootleg, at least until theater is actually fully accessible to all. It's also a great preservation of art history

i absolutely agree. i’m from a different country and i have a passion for musical theatre. the only way for me to experience broadway musicals is through bootlegs. it’s the sad truth but bootlegs are absolutely needed.

The Annie was a dream thing is real!! it was a high budget community theatre in connecticut and it was talk of the town about 15 years ago. I didn’t see it myself, but I was in another production of Annie happening at the same time and I remember hearing about them getting sued very hard. love the podcast!

Oh damn! That's kind of what I was thinking, like I believe most works have stipulations about adaptations and for some reason it seems like, "whoopsy, and Annie dreamed the whole thing, guess she's just going to rot in this orphanage forever!" 😂 Would all outside of their guidelines 😅

I was raised Catholic, and the jams were very solemn. It would always irk me when they would play Christian Rock during Sunday school. Where was the LATIN?!? There was a really good song they only played during Christmas time and they changed it!

Podcast are great cause the comments are always SO out of context. The churches I went to were very hipster and the preacher had tattoos so the much was (debatably) listenable in normal life, with a crazy good live drummer. I went to one Catholic mass and realized what a big impact music choice has on people; a la the plant/snowflake experiment where things grow better with happy music 😅 Ave Maria is top tier beautiful though

Edmonton was seriously one of the most diverse cities that I've ever been in, and I've traveled all around Asia and Europe. It was kind of wild to see people from every corner of the old British empire at the West Edmonton Mall at 53 degrees North Latitude.

I LOVED Wrong Man. MCC. The choreography insane. Truly original. Saw Carousel 2X on Bway. Second time 2nd row far far right. Magical. And I love that music man bit! You could definitely do that but at Westside Comedy Club. But not in LA probably. Or Chattanooga;)

gotta put the guest in the middle, the co-host and host looking at eachother with the guest on the outside is wierd. especially since people tend to look at people they know more than the person they are less familiar with.

Good looking people playing nebbish roles! So spot on. When I was in college the theatre program did Little Shop in third year. I heard Audrey (the woman, not the plant) rehearsing and she was absolutely BELTING Suddenly Seymour. I wanted to take her aside and say "This is a beaten and battered woman. She's broken in this song. This is not a power ballad, Ethel. Tone it down." Also! I saw LORD OF THE RINGS in previews and it was atrocious. My boyfriend at the time was friends with a bunch of the cast and we went for drinks after. He told me to not say a word about how awful it was but I was biting my tongue the whole time. How could they not know how terrible it was? Zero memorable songs from that production. The cast was talented but...oof.
