This is the story of Mahito, the architect of destruction. Welcome to 'Jujutsu Kaisen', a universe where the fight between good and evil transcends our understanding, where sorcerers battle against malevolent curses born from human negativity. Mahito is a great foil to Yuji early on the story, but Sukuna is the better villain to me.

@@SilasSeiler He is an amazing foil! Sukuna is definitely that guy but there's something about mahito that stands out to me more personality wise

Mahito is much better villain than Sukuna. Sukuna looks more like a super-powered bully who loves to fight, while Mahito is a TRUE villain, he doesn't need tragic pasts or things like that, his pure charisma, evil and desire to show that his ideals and thoughts are equal to or better than Yuji's. They do it great. Mahito's speech to Itadori after beating him up was all he needed to be JJK's best villain. Although of course, since Mahito is JJK's most hated character, obviously people prefer to say that Sukuna is better

I seem to not understand fully. You say "ideology", how he is an amazing villain and i agree, he is very charismatic, but i dont see how his ideology is that complex. Essentially, he just believes life of everyone holds no meaning, and that you should do whatever you wish, which in mahito case is reveling in suffering of others. That, in my opinion, isnt very deep, though i do see a lot of potential in his personality development due to his innate curiosity. So whats so unique about it, could you delve into his personality more? Imo too much of praising his impact haha, but great video otherwise, love to see Mahito getting appreciation

I think its how his ideology interacts with others and the world. While yes he's philosophy is that life has no meaning so do what you want, but there's some nuance to it, more detail. I think it shows itself best in his final fight against Yuji. When he's saying they aren't so different and Yuji asks him why he causes suffering, part of it is because he wants to ofc, but what he's trying to tell Yuji is that his ideals are naïve. Yuji at this point is in the typical hero mindset where he is good and needs to save ppl, so it confuses him why Mahito does such horrible things, what Mahito is trying to tell Yuji is that Yuji getting mad at him for killing humans is like getting mad at a lion for killing a zebra, its simply in his nature, not only is it in his nature but through this he understands that morals aren't set into stone things but made up human concepts. Just like how you wouldn't be able to convince lions that killing a zebra hurts them and brings death so they shouldn't do it, Mahito feels the same why. I also think the line "this is war! Not a battle to fix what's wrong but a clash of truths" to Yuji before he changes this is a battle of good and evil and Mahito is saying that good and evil are just made up concepts, whoever wins gets to decide what the truth is what good is, from a curses perspective they are justified. It may not be the deepest most complex philosophy but its interesting and worth thinking about.

Mahito is a disgusting villain, one of the worst there could have ever been. I totally despise him and not in a good way. He is not charismatic, not adorable by any traits, obviously overpowered, dumb as hell (in a worldview way by making the statesments of heavenly magnitude and of morbidly stupidity at the same time) and left for much too long in the story. He should have been killed by Nanamin back in the first chapters. And his constant screaming and the flair of the "trickster", "mad genius" just doesn't work and he looks like a second-rate fanservice shit which is clearly outdated (and never has been relevant). He is not a villain, he is just a bad joke played for too long. Personally, I was outraged with the kills he had scored, and not by sympathing with characters, but for the fact, as it was all the power of plot and not of the character. I couldn't wait for him to finally die, as it is the only way for a crappy character like him to go. At least Sukuna is something more structurally integral and relatable.

If you believe that, it shows that you have no idea what a VILLAIN is. That you are just another one of the bunch that is only interested in strong characters and that's it, with that you believe that because they are strong they are already good characters or villains. That you say that Sukuna is a better character and villain than Mahito shows that you have no idea what it means to build a good character. Get out of this video and cry with all the other brainless people who prefer bullshit over quality storytelling, little boy
