Lemme say something. I got pulled over by cops almost every time just walking to the store, riding my bike to the corner store, just being racial profile all before I turned 16. I believe in this shit. Real shit.
Disabled people are treated like shit, by the cops for the most part. Especially at checkpoints or cardings. Doesn't matter if you're deaf, blind, autistic, paralyzed or an amputee. If a cop has a problem with you, you're gonna have to deal with their bullshit, regardless of your capacity. Yeah, some will act nice upfront, but if you exercise your rights, or try to stand up for yourself, in a bad situation, you'll have a bad time... even if it means they end up telling you to watch yourself and you get flagged, for possible future processing, on some other bullshit stop. Last time I got carded, the cop started the conversation with "Where are you going?" I kept walking "Are you looking to go to jail?" I turned around, standing at least 10ft from their car and said "Why would I go to jail?" The cop looked at me and said "For pulling on car doors..." I looked at him and said "Where would you get the idea, that I've been doing that?" He raises his voice, tries to act all hard and says... "Walking around, at 4 in the morning, with your hood up... looks pretty questionable to me..." It was the middle of winter, windy as fuck and I was going to get food after working all night... That's how easy it is to get caught up with police. If you don't know how to deal with police, can't talk or hear, can't run away, that situation could either end in a jail cell, or a beating and a three night stay. Unless you run into a mature cop, but would a mature cop card you, for just walking down the street, or standing on your front lawn?
I’m glad you don’t have this dude on the podcast any longer, now when you talk about former podcast guests “who shall remain nameless” I bet this is him 😂😒
