The best part of Valyria is that we don’t know how after 5000 years of reign it could just vanish overnight. Maybe when George dies. Arya was always an free spirit who desired thrilling adventure and combat, instead of the boring life as a lady of some lord, as was expected of her. It would make less sense if she just settled down with Gendry. Plus she had experience traveling around Westeros, and later across the narrow sea. It makes sense that she would crave adventure.

Normally only elves are allowed there but both Bilbo and Frodo were ringbearers thus they earned this priviledge. Frodo in particular went there for medical care since every year on the anniversary of his morgul blade stabbing and shelob sting his wounds will hurt terribly.

@@luciferblue6503 sure, but I meant specifically who killed the dragons in the Dragonpit after the dance, they weren't just "commoners". The Hightower plot, which utilised the maesters and the faith of the seven, included a lot more underhanded tactics like weakening the blood of the dragon by promoting marriage outside of dragon rider families. Whether by arranging political matches, like when the Dragons married Dorne. Or by having the faith cause a bunch of trouble for them, as in Maegor's day, decrying their incest as vile abomination etc etc. But you might notice that once the blood stopped being pure fairly pure, as of Viserys ii and Aegon iii's children, all were unable to hatch dragons. I seriously think the Hightowers have more of a hand in everything than people realise. They're very crafty, they essentially created the dance of the dragons, and you could argue militarized the faith against the Targaryens in the past too. Something to think about. Either way the maesters and faith are in on it for sure, I just think it makes sense that perhaps if the Hightowers aren't calling the shots, they're at least colluding with them. A true conspiracy 😜

This is symbolic of Ned and many of the Starks dying, only for the folly of going to Kings Landing at the behest of Robert Baratheon. Had Ned refused the hand of the king post, there would have been no revelation as to the secret of Joffrey’s birth by Ned himself, It would have been Stannis instead. In light of the aforementioned Ned would also not have been executed in Kings Landing, and no Starks would have been held captive. The fact that Sansa and Arya “presumably” were captive in KL was why Catelyn set Jaime Lannister free. Had the Starks never gone to KL they would have been in a substantially better position that would not have been as fraught with landmines. That is why the direwolf symbolism is indeed accurate. It was indeed Robert Baratheon appointing Ned as hand that destroyed the Starks.

The dragon keepers probably, eventually knew more about the dragons than the actual Targaryens. I love the idea that when potential riders came to claim a dragon they would suggest certain ones to certain people- like when the first rider of Meleys came to claim a dragon- she went straight for Balerion and the keepers were like nahhh maybe you’ll like this one better instead. It was like shopping for a brand new car and they were the dealers lol

If it’s blood magic that is tough though I would expect sorcerers and Mages to be able to either undo it or adjust the magic itself to go onto another line as well. I understand the authors parallels to modern day politics with tyrannical rule breeding contempt, desperation and u fortunately hysteria among the masses. Im just wondering why no one thought to possibly use whatever they Targaryen’s have to control dragons against them
