Are the maps from the last season in the sim yet? Love the show and the yt shorts this channel has been uploading. Maybe post some of vannovers freestyle rips. :)
I am a fpv racer myself, this technology has been around for a little while. Unlike DJI drones these are unstabalized and quite simple, we used to use simple motors a arruino and a broken wee stick to make our own quads.
That's fuckin sick dude thanks for that tidbit of info. I heavily fw the idea of an arduino wii nunchuck flying around 😂 But on a serious note, how much of a difference would you say the stabilization feature adds or subtracts? Is a good analogy like, how racecars have no traction control/ABS thus allowing for more control in the hands of a skilled driver but can be super unsafe to a regular citizen? Sorry if I'm way off I'm just an old gearhead trying to understand because this sport looks like a ton of fun, and building them has got to be as well.
Van, Gab, Heads-up are all at the top of their game. What a great race to watch! Watch out for Heads-up he’s the one that has rivaled both Gab and Van both of which are champs and vets of the DRL.
If this is in the United States under FAA rules there buggers can get up to 100 mph. They don’t have the space for that here (it seems) but a cool fact for anyone new.
I liked the racer 3 better (more maneuverable, at expense off top speed) the racer 4 was faster but heavy. Its no where as fast as regular fpv racing. (Where the drone swing like pendulums. Sometimes actually going backward before going forward again. Those races are very fast but not audience friendly. The racers3 were too heavy to do that. So videos felt more natural (more like a very agile plane) vs nauseating (like the more common racing like multigp) The pilot had to pull up way before the turn before the drone reacted. I think they need to put cameras with better fps, although current ones are high resolution the image isnt clear when moving fast (almost like shutter speed is way to slow).
