50 years ago in1973 I backpacked around Europe and Turkey for 4 1/2 months and the best souvenir I brought back to Texas was the Dubliners record album I bought in Boyer's store in Dublin.
I live in a small town on the east slope of the Rockies my mom and dad are from Dublin we grew up listening to the Dubliners all our friends would come over we gave them song sheets with the words and Ukrainian Danish German people would sing along with us we knew every song irish music is amazing as my best friend said it's the saddest happiest angry music in the world
I first heard them in O'Donaghues and then in Liverpool playing at the old Uni theatre and afterwards in the pub until late and Kelly trying to chat up my girlfriend - that was, I guess, around 1966. Followed them through the years, sadly miss them .... thanks for posting this ...
A great find...thank you...2017, and still listening to these videos on youtube....the spirit of the music, the ballads, the men and the stories never dies. Still so sad to see them performing, knowing they lay silent. r i. p,, all the Dubliners who have passed on.
Barney could play that banjo..Talent all around in that group..class.May they rest in peace on earth but be still playing and having a porter on the other side.
Thank you for posting this joekrlgobinet. They were such a gift and these videos let those of us too young to enjoy them live to discover and fall in love with their music.
I truly think are are those that just go around and hit the dislike button ,because there no way in hell to find fault with this performance . Just listen to Luke singing Paddy works on the Railway . Thanks for the lads

You are amazing Ghost. I recognised it, but could not quite put my finger on it. Thank you so much. This is by far the best version, in my opinion, I wonder how (this) Barneys style would sound with the lyrics.
