Brilliant show which was hugely popular in a Prime Saturday night slot. This episode was unforgettable for those who saw it, wonderful to be able to see it again.
I don't know.. There was the Waltons .. Little House on the Prairie. Yes this was a different sort of manner.. in a situation drama.. I mean you had are You Being Served as a comedy one.. Then there was also All Creatures Great and Small..one of my favorites..which was also a situation..type? I do agree it is one that should be up to those that I meantioned.
@@SergeSmirnoff thanks for the heads up on that..will be my nexted dvd search..or even here on you tube.. Here is one thats really good and heart wrenching.. Bleak House.. I've another but don't remember the title...when I do I'll repost.
Vee Vendetta, yes, Bleak House (2005) is very touching. It is by Dickens novel and there are many other touching screen adaptations of Dickens (I've read these works at least once and seen these adaptations at least twice for each): Our Mutual Friend (1976) and (1998), Nicholas Nickleby (1977), The Old Curiosity Shop (1979), and more and more.
I had the entire series before everything was stolen from my storage unit. I do miss The Duchess of Duke Street along with my entire life of 35 years. But the only thing that keeps me sane is that when I die I wouldn't be able to take any of my possessions with me to my grave.
Wanda Hoeninghausen-Faires, some of year ago I also lost all the contents of my storage where complete Duchess of Duke Street was keep together with complete Upstairs, Downstairs (classic) and many others. I only made these two clips and pity that I didn't made the clip (I just made it once but was in hesitation...) where Louisa talks with Margaret, Charlie's wife near the lake just day before Margaret passes. Some of lost storage's series are also stored on my CD's but these two are not. I do remember them well because I'd seen them many times. And I believe that nothing is lost - eventually, and we all will get the restoraion - then and there.
Wife and I saw this for first time last night and were stunned he died right there in the chair. We realized it right when she stopped talking. Hated to see Fred go too. Excellent drama series.
I don't understand why he died? Blood poisoning ? if there was a piece still in his head..it doesn't make sense. Why. A blood clot ? Oh.. a brain seizure .
I think that he had pieces of shrapel in his head and I assumes that some of it moved and caused a brain bleed, I always thought that was why his just died quietly like that .
Earlier it was indicated that he had shrapnel in his head they couldn't remove and it was moving, slowly blinding him. I don't think they expected it to kill him. But an episode before he woke from a terrible blinding dream with a feeling of peace--presumably the shrapnel had moved.
