The Moroccan Royal Protocol is set up like that, the national guard officer has to do the official welcome to the first blood Royal (when royalty) or the President of the state, whether it is a male or a female. Queen Elizabeth was saluted the same way when she visited Morocco.

The Duchess looks impeccable, so of course she must have been reprimanded after her "extravagant" trip to NYC! I'm not going to repeat the spurious comments that continued, but you get the picture! The fact that Duchess Meghan is cognizant of the meaning of red to the country of Morocco, knows about cultural norms in the country she's visiting and respects those norms shouldn't be unusual or extraordinary. Duchess Meghan showed the same sensitivity on their trip to the South Pacific! I shake my head at her critics. My hope is the D/DoS can carry on with their royal duties. Hi, we are trying to figure out why the Duchess of Sussex was not allowed to walk on the red carpet when they went to visit the Crown Prince of Morocco (video of the military officers in red not white). Can you help? A couple of us said it must be cultural. Can you give more information why? Would really appreciate it. Thanks.
