one of those perfectly crafted pop songs... thrown out for fun only to become a timeless classic.

I am so happy that only you and me know how great this band is. Yeah yeah the other bunch are okay too.

Dukes of Stratosphear are one of the best side projects by any band. I HAVE to listen to both of their releases at least once or twice a year

Genius. Graham Gouldman's greatest song for the Hollies that he never wrote.

You just need Graham Nash's voice to actually make it a 1967 Hollies hitvthat never was!

Heard this night first time about xtc (Thanks youtube), what a gerat new universe. Feel a bit ashamed, because im 56, should know them in the 8ts, but wikipedia told me, they were nearly unknown in continental Europe. And this 60's-Parody is wonderful. too. Great.

I felt the same way about the group, "The House Martins." They came out in the Eighties. I live in the U.S., but I wasn't aware of them until I bought both of their LPs from a thrift shop around 2006

@@TighelanderII House Martins had a big hit in the german charts with Caravan of Love, and later they kept in Charts with new band Beautyful South and on of them went to "Fat Boy Slim" in the 90ts.

@@applescruff1969 I saw XTC open for The Police and thought "I'm going to appreciate seeing XTC more than The Police" and I do ! It seems XTC got closer and closer to The Dukes ,the older they became.I heard 25'o Clock when it first came out and it was fantastic.I was also doing some psychedelic's at the time.I wish Andy didn't have a problem with playing live.

XTC is made up of the same guys as the Dukes. The Dukes of Stratosphear was just an alter ego for XTC.

Great song. If AP didn't have such a thin voice and the well documented psychiatric problems (on valium since a little kid ffs) that stopped them touring, XTC would have been massive. Such great songs, whether XTC or TDOS.

The Dukes of Stratosphear is XTC "messing around" between albums. They accidentally produced two of their best albums doing that, compiled as one on Chips from the Chocolate Fireball.
