Conan Exiles is one of my favourite games and this one will be just as bad.

I preodered Conan Exiles, the Funcom game on which exepirience this Dune is based. Still play the Conan Exiles after many years. In my preoder package they gave me the sword and armor set which other players who not preodered the game dont have. Now some players don't know about that set and look suprised to see it. So, I would say, I still have some value from that preoder. So, knowing Conan Exiles with all its problems I would still preoder Dune game. But only in one this specific case.

As someone who still plays Conan Exiles, Funcom is only good at breaking their own game and community mods. They will probably add a paid Battle Pass on top of the base price of the game.

Not the journalism reviews like IGN. Not even the steam review or metacritic ones either. The best way to objectively asses a quality game before buying is to ask reddit about 1-2 weeks about it but in this case of it being a mmo, maybe it would do to wait around 6 months so that most people will get to the endgame as well. Even better to wait until some dlc and patches are out so that the game is in a perfect sweet spot where there are content updates available along with all the bugs gone and fixed. Wait until it’s all cooked and ready. (It took cyberpunk 2 years to get there and dragon’s dogma will take about 1 year). Patience is key.

It’ll be just like Conan with a dune skin . Survival games make enough revenue and with the dune name behind it it will be supported for a long time. I mean ark just got a whole tv show. This game is definitely relying on dunes name and whales will definitely keep this game going for a couple years Atleast

Anthem had tons of gameplay content before release, and they did open betas. Anthems only real problem was a lack of end game content.

Every since the battle passes started Conan has been riddled with FOMO microtransactions. They are mostly cosmetic yes, but there also a lot of useful functional things in the battle passes and shop.

Part of the issue with this was that they made a bad deal with the server company GPortal, and their servers fucking sucked. This is why the combat in Conan Exiles is so laggy and jank, and the source of a lot of the issues with the game. This is something that has been complained about a lot, so I don't believe they'll repeat this mistake for Dune: Awakening. One would assume so, at least.

You act like this game is launching next week. 😂 It's gonna be in early access at the end of the year and most likely will be delayed, they even said it'll be ready when it is.

Hard to be convinced by any game until it’s released nowadays. Could be selling the best-looking game of all time but it will still come out broken, unfinished, riddled with mtx and stupid design choices.

They Devs said they won't be going into the religious aspects of the Dune Universe. That is half the story of Dune it effects the political aspects of the universe, the fractions and people in it. It is a money grab with DEI trash in it

@MrTsiolkovsky So I have 6000 hours in conan exiles. To be brutally honest, we justt havent seen enough. Im a beta tester for the game, and I havent gotten my key yet lmao. It'll come when it comes I guess. That said, what I can say; funcom has demonstrated a "capability" with 3rd person action combat with conan exiles. During its peak patches, conan exiles is probably one of the best games ever made. We are currently in a slump, so dont go looking right "now". that said, the movement is what hits me the most. The fluidity of the motions, the climbing aspect, the foundation building mechanics, the visceral combat mechanics... it feels very "conan" by appearance. We just dont know yet. "conan exiles 2" would be *amazing* if done properly. Its quite literally the best survival arpg on the market. It has the best combat, it has the best building, itt has a shockingly decent story with *incredible* voice actors (same guild of actors that does league of legends and all ATLUS games [persona] + gundam animes!), it has fluidity unseen in most games. I keep using the term "Fluid", and its something almost subjective in nature. You have to "feel it" to understand. From what we actually CAN see, the gameplay dynamics appear very conan in essence; and thats honestly an incredibly GOOD thing At the end of the day, funcom has a demonstrated capability. A capability for making *incredible* games... and a capability for *ruining* them.
