Just wondering how your finding the DVO front fork vs the stock 34 rythm that comes with the EX8 (as on my bike). Also, hows the rear coil shock working for you, as I understand that while the Slash was designed to take on, the Fuel EX was not meant to have a coil on it?
I never rode the bike with the 34 on it, I’m a fairly big guy and given my line choice needs some work I needed something burlier on the front. The DVO is absolutely fantastic, it’ll be making its way on to the Cotic come winter. The coil on the back is good, very plush yet supportive when it needs to be. I’ve put a progressive spring on which helps as the fuel has a very linear suspension curve. I’ve not felt any harsh bottom outs from it yet.
@@MTBSeb As for being a big guy, I'm around 300Lb in old speak (Mt biking is my weight loss plan!), and despite that the 34 is fine for the mellow stuff I ride (also in my 50's, and have been BADLY injured too many time to want to go hard out with my hair on fire now days). Overall the 34 is great, but I would like a stiffer fork to ride the odd easy/fast DH run in out local hills - as breaking forces at speed are my only concern with the 34. Cool to hear you findings on the Fuel EX as you have it set up, as it sounded like a SWEET setup that's for sure! Just an all round great bike though, Trek did themselves proud with this one as it just hits the sweet spot - the GX gear is great too, I did upgrade the brakes to a set of G2 RSC's that I already had, quite a noticeable difference there on it's own!
