The Dutchie Problem 

I got policed by someones fanbase for having a dutchy thats a stitch designed character and they told me I wasn't aloud to have it because someone had a dutchy thats based already off of stitch and another one based off of angel Of course I kept it, I'm not gonna let 10 year olds tell me I can't have a sona based on a Disney character :p

I've been wanting to revisit an original species I made when I was 15, but since it's a fluffy dragon inspired thing, I'm kind of nervous about it. The tails are different and face is different, but I feel like I need to get more original than that, which is fine. I have the same problem with robotic/cyborg OCs, where people are like, "that's just a protogen," when really they're not the only cyborgs.

I never knew that they were supposed to have a toddler mentality,...but doesn't that contradict their "abyssal Dutch Angel Dragon" variants? I don't think they thought that one through, lol

My fursona is vaguely Dragon-like and fluffy dragon/Goat features,definitely not a dutchie though.

I was in the Dutch community just long enough to adopt one and sell a couple adopts myself before an admin dug up one of my first practice doodles of a Dutch Angel Dragon and told me I was breaking rules because I used references and were really hateful and stuck up about it so I took my dragon and vamoosed. I just call him a draconequus (like discord) or a deer dragon cause he looks like a reindeer

The admin's are toxic and they police everyone they even almost bullied someone to suicide. they are out of control. I don't like children and I'm not going to make my Dragon with the mentality of a three-year-old. My Dutch angel dragon has the mentality of a 31-year-old because that's how old I am. She has a mate, my fiance's fursona.

When I was wanting to get a Dutch Angel Dragon I looked it up and found out that they were like horses. That seemed weird since they don’t really look like horses, like at all??

im 5 months late but omg finally!! i actually genuinely thought dutchies were tricos and was excited to to see them as fursuits. but finding out they were dutch angel dragons i was stuck in a phase of confusion. this was a long time ago tho. now, i hate it when people confuse tricos with dutchies tho. tricos are underrated and should become more popular in my opinon ^^

Because of how toxic the Dutchie community is, I trashed my Dutchie fursona and a friend redesigned her as a red panda. I saw S0ULESSB0NES' video about the problem and it made me hate the species for a while. I kinda miss having my fursona be a Dutchie but I don't want people treating me like a criminal for it, so maybe I'll stick with distancing myself from the Dutchie community and keeping my sona as a red panda. Edit: Please note, I'm generally not a hateful person and I do NOT hate people who have Dutchie OCs. I just developed a dislike for the species because of how bad the people who made the species are. But I'm past the dislike for the species. I just haven't gotten over my anger because of the whole thing.

I dont call my sona a dutch but their backstory is the Dutch lore and one of betrayal. Yes, I've been bullied to by the community to where their actions and lies made me change the species mid backstory. Looks like a dutch in every way but has four extra teeth in that jaw gap. I do it to show others just how cruel those fluffy Angel dragon members can be.

the fact that they’re not allowed to poop or have a digestive system is crazy. Like I can understand wanting to prevent fetish content, but that rule isn’t there for that reason. it’s to keep them cutesy and pure, which is so... childish.

Another thing that annoys me about them is that they are said to have the mental capacity of a 3-4 year old YET ONE OF NIMBUS'S REFERENCE SHEETS SAYS THEY CAUSED A HURRICANE KILLING THOUSANDS I DONT THINK 3-4 YEAR OLDS COMMIT WAR CRIMES NIMBUS. WHY CAN NIMBUS COMMIT WAR CRIMES?

I had a rainbow billed toucan Dutch angel dragon and sniper lost his fucking shit he made this very passive-aggressive rent post about people having bird themed Dutch Angel dragons when I at the time was one of the only known bird themed to Dutch Angel dragons and when I commented on his post his little mindless drones attacked me relentlessly ended up making me cry myself to sleep that night because of it.

I'm honestly kind of annoyed about the whole "no sexual" aspect of dutchies. Don't get me wrong, it's completely normal to want to keep it wholesome, but sexuality is a part of most people's lives :/ being able to explore sexuality in a healthy way and expressing it through your fursona is a very liberating aspect of the fandom, but it gets annoying quickly when you want a dutchie but have to just not be sexual in any way once you get it. Had a dutchie self sona for a while before I got told I was "being too explicit" when really I was just being myself. Just because my main is a dutchie doesnt mean I cant explore or act like an adult and not a toddler like they're apparently supposed to

I personally think all the species rules are really stupid and you don't have to follow them. Just make your character however you want. It's YOUR character and nobody can tell you what or what not to do with it. at the end of the day it's just a fictional character, who cares if it follows a set of ridiculous imaginary rules. Just have fun and don't worry about upsetting randos cos ur made up dragon character has a certain marking on its nose.

Hey guys don't worry I'm not here to chew you out so please read a little bit of this(?) ♡ I completely agree with this video and even though it stings you definitely made some great points 😅 really glad you elaborated instead of just saying the community is poop.. as a member of it, I confirm it is. I have a single dutch angel dragon (besides ones that are more for the 1s lore) that I created early into my time in the fandom and have loved him since despite his busy design. I've considered making a comic of him, his mate, and his parents to help myself elaborate on his own lore and the species lore for myself (not in reality show format don't worry). What's stopping me besides the anatomy that's a bitch to draw? That I feel so demotivated to do it with the bland/stale fan base. It's really kind if you stay in line, but nothing really ever happens...? It's so big, you'd think there would be events but like you said it's a bunch of kids (I'm 17 but I don't think I fall under the bad dutchie category according to everything else stated besides that lol). The only person who has drawn a piece or two of art even based off the lore is maybe ino and the person who did the art on the site and it's really upsetting. The lore is confusing, but I think it's a great base for a story or comic but no one's doing it and it frazzles me that there aren't even small single pages or anything hhhh I think you get my point. I’m so scared to talk about my fluffy dragon OC Broadcast because he might be pointed out as a Dutchie even though he has normal dragon wings, back fur like a hyena, a long muzzle, chest spikes, feathery tail trim and he’s a Virus Dragon! Yet some people might call him a Dutchie and I will literally break down! Xd

I dont think its bad to have someone insanity mistaken for a DAD. I mean it happens with all different animals. Hell ive had my raccoon mistaken for a dog, fox, mouse and more. Its just how they respond to you teling them that they aren't a part of that species. If they're chill they'll have no problem and leave you be. If not and they want to argue id avoid them

I dislike that so many people have caused dutchies to have such discourse with other similar species...I really think as is with the whole furry fandom, Dutchies have the "speak before research" bug BAD. I have yet to have it happen to me (shockingly because my dutchie, who I adopted from someone else, has a full-blown white muzzle ring) but I have seen the gatekeeping over the muzzle ring rule even long after Ino lifted it and began allowing them and it is so annoying!! I've experienced similar issues in the main part of the fandom regarding my other suit and a whole different drama piece, but its never okay in any regard to be gatekeepy and point blame! As cool as it is to see younger furs in the fandom, a lot of our issues stem from literal children, and unfortunately some adults too, refusing to do anything except take something they heard once and run like the wind with it.. I believe our fandom as a whole would be a lot better off if people would listen to others and take the time to get all the facts and even back-check those facts themselves instead of going in leaps and bounds to conclusions.

I have also had a similar issue to the one mentioned in the video, I came up with this great idea for Dinomask (it has happened to me twice now) only to find out that someone has already done it. Then my idea doesn’t feel original anymore. What should I do?

Mine is a dutchie but like some of them are toxic but I am actually a nice person like my fursona I made mine like a mentality of a 17 year old. Not a tiny child (because I am a child but I’m more like an adult and not that energetic.)

I become a furry due to Telephone. I never knew this side of the D.A.D community, since I was only ever on RU-vid and Amino during my early furry days (Nelly, my Dutchie, is no longer my main. But she is still a secondary!) Nelly has a muzzle ring and has always had a muzzle ring, maybe for like 4 years? I've never had an issue with anyone saying my Dutchie was wrong. But I appreciate you bringing up such issues! It has been two years, so I hope these issues have been resolved.

As a dutchy, I do feel like the rules aren’t followed or even known about. There’s a lot of infighting and a lot of kids that needs to take a moment to do some research. Dutchies in general need to relax, the furry fandom is amazing and full of so much creativity, they can’t gate keep others because they don’t understand how dutchies or other specifies work. This is so trueeee I have two main sonas which I love and have a huge connection with they are both just fluffy DRAGONS!! THEY ARE NOT DUTCHIES one of them has a muzzle ring which I did bc they are not a Dutchie, every single time I post sm with them I get so much backlash it’s annoying, and even Edith the shape of the head, I get people saying that it should look more like a Dutchie since that’s what it is, it’s sooooooo annyoing.

Well first thing I would like to say is I completely agree with some aspects of what you say.. for example it really hard to make everyone respect the rules especially if they're children.. accidents can still happen.. even if it's adults making the rules.. but also.. the majority of dutchies I know are adults including myself

I don't get them as cute as they may look or be they do not emulate the description of what one is and suppose to be. I've seen so many sub species of them one like a parrot, a fox, a turkey, a leopard ect where is the line suppose to be drawn at this rate it doesn't matter what your fursona is or would be its just a sub species of a DAD with or without wings. My drawings of my Folf dragon( leather tattered wings) and my saber fox tiger(no wings) have been referred to as DADs ☹️ little discouraging to get them made into suits.

ngl, I could hear how bothered these two are. I don't blame them. A few years ago, one of the admins told my boyfriend that he couldn't submit his dutchie because it 'looked like Torch' My boyfriend's dragon was based on fire, yes, but also was mainly yellow and white with a little bit of red and a good amount of blue here and there. Torch is mainly red with some yellow with barely any white..No blue, adding, the dragon (my boyfriends) was based on a white-tailed deer. (of course, it still had horse-like features hense the rules.)

My primary dislike and problem with the species isn’t the muzzle ring, but rather the genderless aspect of the species, I do find it cool and alright to have put in from a lore perspective, with a lot of work put in to tell how they canonically reform and such, but if I ever wanted to, say, commission an art piece of a Dutchie I were to create, being with someone very close to me, the fact that I would likely be immediately shunned, harassed, and exiled from the entire DutchAD community for such art existing practically destroys my comfort with the idea. Plus there’s all the previous accounts of people being harassed for even smaller things that sometimes aren’t even warranted accusations

I have an Irish Wolfhound suit that gets called a Schnauzer all the time. Slightly annoying, but not the end of the world. I have a Scottish Fold cat that people ask me what breed of DOG he is when I commission art for him. Again, annoying, but not the end of the world. People make mistakes. Dutch Angel Dragons, or angelic dragons in general, are quite popular, and there's nothing wrong with that! What is wrong is people being butthurt over someone calling their fursuit the wrong species when that other person has NO earthly way of knowing what that creature may be, and they call it what they believe it might be. Some people will claim, "Well, it's just common sense", but unfortunately, not everyone has that. People do "chibi" style Dutch Angel Dragons fursuits because that's the style the current Telephone suit was crafted in by PhoenixNest almost six years ago to date, and everyone wants to be as popular as Telephone (Why, I have no idea, the poor creature can't even walk out into the lobby without being bombarded and pulled around by the tail). The suit was designed LONG before DUTCH Angel Dragons were even a thing. Ino isn't trying to "own fuzzy dragons", she's trying to develop a species while also working full time on fursuits AND still have a social life. She doesn't have time to tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE FANDOM, "Hey, this is my species and these are the rules, please follow them if you want to be a part of it." Some people love them and follow them to the letter, while others don't, so they make a character that LOOKS like a "cute, chibi, fuzzy dragon", but doesn't follow the rules of the species because they're not a part of it. That's where the members of the Dutch Angel Dragon community come in to offer aid to people designing a Dutch Angel Dragon. Some lack finesse and don't always handle those situations the way they should be, but they're not doing it to be mean or rude, they're doing it to keep people from unintentionally (or sometimes intentionally) breaking rules. All in all, you can't police an entire group of people to do something, or to not to do something. All you can do is politely correct people who make mistakes, and ignore the people who don't respect you or your hard work :)
