I was looking for casimir effect. I got so much more. I love science. I love the internet and I really enjoyed this video.

Eveseptir , that’s what I was thinking, Was thinking of the collapsing plates release ZPE But stop them before they totally collapse and reopen plates Like in the piesioelectric crystal like Rochelle salt For battery power on zpe Wonder does collapsing mirrors tap into that energy emitted in over unity of light??????? Let me know... anyone Thanks rjfk

2:22 but i heard that it's done in 2011 by microwave waveguide with superconductor at very high relativistic Velocity

Couldn’t you do this with a sonoluminescence apparatus? The internal reflectivity of the bubble in the liquid would act like a liquid and the sonic frequency would control the dimensions of the cavity.

Does the casmimir effect mean nano particles can create have an interactive effect that exchanges electrons in a probable clockwork manner?

So basically it's not just a differential in pressure between what's going on "outside the plates" vs. "Inside of them"?

What exactly acts as the mirror in this experiment? Because we don’t have an actual mirror moving at relativistic speeds

Could you guys be mis calling micro gravity, the casmir effect? Just seems like the same thing to me. Has it ever been done in zero Gs and With different materials? Is this what causes cold welding in space? All your experiments are null and void here on Earth, as how do you know the gap is not funneling earth gravity through the gap? You could also be creating a Faraday cage inside the gap and ambient electromagnetics are bombarding the outside push on the plates. Maybe your getting a pendulum effect from the earths gravity, Have you tried arraging the plates in line and against the earths rotation? Just my thoughts.

I have been thinking about mass for a while in conjunction with vacuum fluctuations. I hope you may know the Casimir effect. If we consider the Casimir effect, notice that if there is a force it must be capable of doing work. Thus there is energy in the vacuum.? Now if we think of that force and the energy we notice that it is a consequence of decreasing the fluctuations in a region of space. Thus anything that occupies space has the same effect. Since E equals MC squared, we could identify this effect as associated with the mass of the object that is occupying the space. Have I discovered that the rest mass of an object is due to the space of the object that now has a reduced region of vacuum fluctuations.

No you have not discovered anything and will not be revolutionizing physics anytime soon

Si las placas son atraídas se mueven y como tienen masa adquieren energía cinética ¿de donde sale esa energía?

Cant the two or three additional photons created out of "nothing", actually be photons which got stripped off the original micro light wave inside the cavity ?

David C. Alvarez-Charris Probably from quantum flux .

Interesting. Is there any progress in this field? Does this prove the existence of the quantum vacuum? As i understand, the "static" Casimir effect doesn't because it can be explained as a macroscopic Van der Waals force. I think proving the existence of the quantum vacuum would be a scientific achiefment way more impressive than the detection of gravity waves.

I haven't heard of the "macroscopic" Van der Waals force? May I know where you read about this?

Following up to David's question, I'm also wondering about these new photons that emerge from the vacuum. Specifically, where is this new energy coming from? It sounds like there is more energy going into the system using the optomechanics techniques. If so, are there any other theoretical methods of polarizing the vacuum without using as much energy in contrast to producing the photons?

Well I'm not certain by what you mean but maybe I can help clarify, the Casimir effect is a product of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle specifically ∆E×∆p>=hbar/2 this essentially States as long as I have continues time I have some fluctuations in energy aka the casimir effect, this fluctuations or Quantum fluctuations can be described as 2 photons that "pop" into existence then annihalate to satisfy the conservation of energy. The dynamic casimir effect can be voiced in 2 ways either some plate (mirror) moving at relativistic speeds, or a unstable Minkowski vacuum (leads to Hawking Radiation) this means that I have the Casimir effect occuring but if I move one of the plates at some fraction of the speed of light, these Quantum fluctuations don't annihalate to satisfy the conservation of energy so they remain and become "real" particles but the problem now is how do we satisfy the conservation of energy? The energy conservation comes from the work that is done due to the apposing particles on the right side of the plates this adds energy to the system.

The equilibrium between the vacuum and the system is actually maintained in all cases in one way or another. Even in the case of black holes which don’t exert any force. Particles created at the edge of the event horizon by quantum uncertainty can be separated by the gravity of the black hole and they become real particles, but even in this case the black hole loses a little bit of mass to the vacuum. This is Hawking radiation

I recently found this topic and wow it's mind blowing. This can be used to tap the vacuum energy in theory right? Bunch up billions upon billions of these oscillators to make a generator? I know I'm kinda reaching here but isn't that the potential?
@haroldc-1379
@haroldc-1379 Год назад
logically it seems possible, you should look into harold whites research into worldline numerics on casimir geometry, he accidentally might have created a nano scale warp bubble and there is an experiment that could be done to prove its existence, if it does exist then its possible to scale it to a bigger scale by copy pasting the geometry in two dimensions but so far this tech seems risky to be used in propulsion due to the warp boundry being as cloas as a nano meter away from the structure and another problem is that this energy density distribution is within a cavity so you would still have materials existing outside the warp bubble which is aslo a problem that needs to be overcome
